Right now, the biggest source of energy (nguồn năng lượng lớn nhất)  in the world is fossil fuel (nhiên liệu hóa thạch) . Fossil fuels are oil, gas, and coal (dầu, khí ga, và than) . More than 80 percent of the world's energy comes from fossil fuel. There are many problems with fossil fuel. One problem is that when fossil fuel is burned ( khi nhiên liệu hóa thạch bị đốt cháy) , it pollutes the air ( nó gây ô nhiễm không khí). Also, when we take fossil fuel from the Earth (khi chúng ta khai thác nhiên liệu hóa thạch) , we often cause a lot of damage (gây ra nhiều tác hại). Another problem is that we are running out of it (một vấn đề khác đó là chúng ta đang dần dần bị hết nhiên liệu hóa thạch) . That is why we need new sources of energy. A big source of energy for many countries is nuclear power (năng lượng hạt nhân).

Nuclear power has some advantages (có một số thuận lợi) . First of all, we can't run out of nuclear power ( chúng ta không bao giờ hết năng lượng hạt nhân) . Nuclear power does not make the air dirty (không làm ô nhiễm không khí) . However, there are also a lot of problems that come with nuclear power. For example, nuclear accidents are very serious ( tai nạn hạt nhân rất nghiêm trọng) . In 1986, there was a nuclear accident in Ukraine. In the next 20 years, about 4,000 people got sick and died.

Many people don't want nuclear power in their countries. They say that it is not safe (không an toàn) . A lot of people want their countries to use safer and cleaner ways to get electricity ( nhiều người muốn quốc gia của họ dùng những cách an toàn và sạch hơn để tạo ra điện) . There have been protests against nuclear energy (có nhiều sự phản đối chống lại năng lượng hạt nhân) in the United States, Russia, France, Taiwan, Japan, India, and many other countries.

Although many people hate nuclear energy, more and more countries are using it. One reason for this is that the world is using more and more energy. We just don't have enough fossil fuel. However, if we use nuclear power, then we may have more serious problems in the future (chúng ta có thể đối mặt với những vấn đề nghiêm trọng trong tương lai) .

    VALENTINE’S DAY.

Valentine’s Day (Lễ tình nhân) is a holiday that people celebrate (ăn mừng, tổ chức) on February 14. It is also called (được gọi là) Saint Valentine’s Day.

The day is mostly (hầu hết) celebrated by people who are in love (những người đang yêu)  including couples (bao gồm các cặp đôi) that are married (đã kết hôn) or just dating (hoặc đang hẹn hò) . Children celebrate the day as well (trẻ con cũng ăn mừng ngày này) with cards of friendship (thiệp tình bạn) and candy.

What do people do to celebrate?

Couples generally (các cặp đôi thường) celebrate the day with gifts (món quà) and going out to dinner. Traditional gifts (những món quà truyền thống)  include (bao gồm)  cards, flowers, and chocolates. Decorations (trang trí)  for Valentine's Day are generally in red and pink colors and include hearts, Cupid with his arrow (thần tình yêu cupid và mũi tên) , and red roses (hoa hồng đỏ) . Cupid is a popular symbol (biểu tượng phổ biến)  of the holiday because in mythology (trong thần thoại)  his arrow strikes the heart of people (mũi tên của thần bắn vào tim mọi người) and causes them to fall in love (khiến họ yêu nhau).

    Fun Facts About Valentine's Day

Around 190 million cards are sent on this day, making it the second most popular holiday to send cards after Christmas (khiến nó trở thành ngày lễ phổ biến thứ 2 mà moi người gửi thiệp, đứng sau Giáng Sinh).  73% of flowers are purchased   by men. (73% hoa được mua được mua bởi đàn ông) Around 36 million heart shaped boxes of chocolate (hộp socola hình trái tim) will be given as gifts on Valentine's Day. Millions of pet owners (hàng triệu người nuôi thú cưng) buy gifts (mua quà)  for their pets (cho thú cưng của họ) on this day.
  • TINNITUS (CHỨNG Ù TAI)

Tinnitus is when you experience (trải nghiệm, trải qua) ringing or other noises (tiếng ồn) in one or both of your ears. The noise you hear when you have tinnitus isn't caused (được gây ra) by an external sound (âm thanh bên ngoài), and other people usually can't hear it. Tinnitus is a common problem. It affects (ảnh hưởng) about 15% to 20% of people, and is especially common in older adults. (đặc biệt phổ biến với người lớn tuổi)

Tinnitus is usually caused by an underlying condition (những bệnh nền), such as age-related hearing loss (mất thính giác liên quan đến tuổi tác) , an ear injury (chấn thương tai) or a problem with the circulatory system (hệ tuần hoàn). For many people, tinnitus improves with treatment (chữa trị) of the underlying cause (nguyên nhân gốc) or with other treatments that reduce or mask the noise, making tinnitus less noticeable. (làm cho chứng ù tai bớt nghiêm trọng hơn)

    Symptoms (dấu hiệu)

Tinnitus is most often described (thường được miêu tả như là) as a ringing (tiếng rung) in the ears, even though no external sound is present (mặc dù không có sự hiện diện của âm thanh bên ngoài). However, tinnitus can also cause other types of phantom noises in your ears, including:

    · Buzzing

    · Roaring

    · Clicking

    · Hissing

    · Humming

Most people who have tinnitus have subjective tinnitus (chứng ù tai chủ quan) , or tinnitus that only you can hear (chỉ mình bạn mới nghe thấy). The noises of tinnitus (tiếng ồn của chứng ù tai) may vary in pitch (có thể khác nhau ở tần số) from a low roar (từ những âm thanh thấp)  to a high squeal (cho đến những tiếng xéo cao chói tai) , and you may hear it in one or both ears. In some cases (trong một số trường hợp) , the sound can be so loud it interferes (gây cản trở) with your ability to concentrate (khả năng tập trung) or hear external sounds. Tinnitus may be present all the time (chứng ù tai có thể hiện diện mọi lúc) , or it may come and go (hoặc cũng có thể đến tạm thời rồi biến mất).

Why do We Need to Sort Garbage

In the U.S., the average person generates about 7 pounds of trash every day and over a ton of trash every year.   The amount of garbage we generate has tripled since the 1960s but most of that trash doesn’t need to end up in the landfill.  In fact, some estimates show that 75% of trash is actually recyclable but to recycle, we need to sort that garbage.

    Landfill

Anything that goes into your garbage can usually ends up in the landfill.  There are more than 3,000 landfills in the U.S. and three times that many that have already filled up.   Landfills are also major producers of methane gas – a greenhouse gas that can be deadly when inhaled and presents a fire hazard or even a potential for explosion.

    Food waste

Up to 25% of the food in the U.S. is thrown away, uneaten.  Whether it is due to preparing too much or buying too much, we throw out 21.5 million tons of food every year.  A lot of that food – even if spoiled - is a lot better in the compost pile than it is in the garbage can.  You get great fertilizer and don’t take up space in the landfill.

    Carbon footprint

In addition to the methane produced by the landfill, sorting your garbage reduces your carbon footprint by other ways.  Recycling materials like paper, reduces the fuel and electricity needed to harvest, transport and process the wood – paper can be recycled up to 4 times.

    Cost

Dealing with trash is costly and many communities spend more on trash processing than they do on fire protection, parks and libraries.  Sorting your garbage helps reduce the amount of trash that needs processing.  It also helps to keep the trash where it belongs so it doesn’t end up as litter.  This can reduce the amount of money your community spends on garbage services and even litter collection.

  • How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie is a self-help classic ( cuốn sách tự lực kinh điển) that reads as a life manual (cẩm nang cuộc sống). The core idea (nội dung cốt lõi) is that you can change other people’s behavior (hành vi) simply by changing your own. It teaches you the principles (nguyên tắc) to better understand people, become a more likable person (người dễ mến) , improve relationships, win others over (chiếm cảm tình của người khác) , and influence behavior through leadership.

Six Ways to Make People Like You

Principle 1: Become genuinely interested in other people. (Nguyên tắc 1: Hãy thực sự hứng thú & quan tâm người khác)

If you only try to impress (gây ấn tượng) people and get them interested in you, you won’t have many true friends. Real friends are not made that way.

If you want to make friends, put yourself out to do things for other people – things that require time, energy, unselfishness, and thoughtfulness.

We are interested in others when they are interested in us.

    Principle 2: Smile.

Actions speak louder than words (hành động thể hiện hơn lời nói), and a smile says, ‘I like you. You make me happy. I am glad to see you.’

You must have a good time meeting people if you expect them to have a good time meeting you.

Control your thoughts. Happiness depends on inner conditions, not outward ones. It isn’t what you have or who you are or where you are or what you are doing that makes you happy or unhappy. It is what you think about it.

Your smile is a messenger of your goodwill and brightens the lives of all who see it.

Principle 3: Remember that a person’s name is to that person the sweetest and most important sound in any language.

The average person is more interested in his or her own name than in all the other names on earth put together.

A simple technique to memorize names:

    1. If you don’t hear the name distinctly, ask the person to repeat it

    2. For unusual names, ask for the spelling

    3. Repeat the name several times during the conversation

    4. Associate the name with the person’s features, expression, and general appearance

Principle 4: Be a good listener. Encourage others to talk about themselves.

To be a good conversationalist, be an attentive listener. To be interesting, be interested.

Ask questions that the other person will enjoy answering. Encourage them to talk about themselves and their accomplishments.

Remember people are a hundred times more interested in themselves and their wants and problems than they are in you and your problems. Think of that the next time you start a conversation.

Principle 5: Make the other person feel important – and do it sincerely.

There is one all-important law of human conduct: always make the other person feel important.

If we obey that law, we shall almost never get into trouble. In fact, that law, if obeyed, will bring us countless friends and constant happiness. But the very instant we break the law, we shall get into endless trouble.

  • Advantages of Online Shopping

Shopping online ( Mua sắm online)  has quite a few benefits ( có khá nhiều lợi ích) , especially during the COVID-19 pandemic when in-person shopping is either limited (bị giới hạn) or nearly impossible (gần như không thể)

Purchasing plane tickets (Mua vé máy bay) , groceries (đồ thực phẩm) , household necessities (đồ dùng trong nhà) , or office supplies (đồ dùng văn phòng) has never been more convenient (tiện lợi) than it is right now.

Online stores can also be quite competitive (khá là cạnh tranh) with prices (giá cả)  and products (sản phẩm) , providing shoppers with a wealth of options (nhiều lựa chọn)  that brick-and-mortars (cửa hàng trực tiếp) may not have.

But it can feel overwhelming (khó khăn, choáng ngợp) to compare prices, reviews, and products without having the ability to physically see the items (hàng hóa) .

Aside from being able to shop from the comfort of your home, or anywhere for that matter, there are many advantages of shopping online.

    · Ability to shop at any time, day or night · No long lines at checkout (không phải đợi xếp hàng dài)  · Packages delivered to your doorstep, without leaving the house (bưu kiện được đưa đến tận cửa) · Reading reviews and comparing products prior to making a purchase (xem review và so sánh sản phẩm trước khi mua) · Receive discount and sale notifications · No-pressure sales. You can decide at any time to abandon (bỏ) your cart  (giỏ hàng) instead of completing the transaction (thay vì hoàn thành giao dịch)

  • BENEFITS OF FRIENDSHIP

Friendships can enrich (làm giàu, làm đủ đầy) your life in many ways. Good friends teach you about yourself and challenge (thử thách) you to be better. They encourage (động viên) you to keep going when times get tough (khi khó khăn đến) and celebrate (ăn mừng) your successes with you.

But friends do a lot more than give you a shoulder to cry on (một bờ vai để khóc); they also have a positive impact (tác động tích cực) on your health. Some research even says friendships are just as important to your well-being (sức khỏe) as eating right (ăn uống hợp lý) and exercising (thể dục).

So how do friendships contribute (đóng góp) to your well-being?

It turns out that healthy relationships actually contribute to good physical health (sức khỏe thể chất) . Having a close circle of friends (nhóm bạn thân) can decrease your risk (nguy cơ) of health problems like diabetes (tiểu đường) , heart attack (đau tim), and stroke (đột quỵ).

One possible explanation (lời giải thích) for those health benefits (lợi ích sức khỏe) is that friendships can help you make lifestyle changes (thay đổi trong lối sống) that can have a direct impact (ảnh hưởng trực tiếp) on your well-being. For example, your friends can help you set and maintain goals (đặt ra và duy trì mục tiêu) to eat better and exercise more

If you find yourself going through a hard time (gặp khó khăn) , having a friend to help you through can make the transition easier.

Research also shows that happiness is contagious (có tính lây lan) among friends. One study of high school students found that those who were depressed (trầm cảm) were twice as likely to recover if they had happy friends

Supportive friends can help you feel more confident (tự tin) by offering praise (lời khen) and reassurance (sự trấn an) when you're feeling unsure.

Friends can also provide a positive influence. If you make friends with people who are generous (hào phóng) , ambitious (có tham vọng) or family-oriented (hướng tới gia đình), you are more likely to develop those values yourself.

  • Happiness is a state of mind (trạng thái tinh thần) and the feeling expressed (cảm xúc được thể hiện) when things are going great. It is what we feel when we get our first car, buy our first house or graduate (tốt nghiệp) with the best grades. Happiness should be distinguished (phân biệt) from joy (niềm vui). When joy is a constant state of mind, happiness depends on events (sự kiện) in our lives.

The opposite (đối ngược) of happiness is sadness which is a state of negativity (sự tiêu cực) in the mindset. When we remain sad for an extended period of time (một khoảng thời gian dài) it can lead to depression (trầm cảm). To avoid this state of mind we must always remind ourselves of happenings (những điều xảy ra) in our lives that make us happy.

It is important that we find positive things (những điều tích cực) in our daily lives to get excited about and feel the happiness.

  • The popularity (sự phổ biến) of Social Networking sites has rapidly (nhanh chóng) increased over the past few years. Social networks provide (cung cấp) many kinds of services and benefits (lợi ích) to its users like helping them to connect with new people, share opinions, and stay in touch (giữ liên lạc) with old friends and family.

Social Networking gives people an opportunity (cơ hội) to meet new people around the world. Users of these sites have access to millions of profiles from around the world.

Popular Social Networking sites are built in such a way that they are very much user friendly (thân thiện với người dùng). Most sites are so easy to navigate that they require  (yêu cầu) very little knowledge of the internet.

Most of the popular Social Networks allow users to create groups. These groups allow like-minded people (những người cùng sở thích, suy nghĩ) to share their interests and hobbies (mối quan tâm & sở thích). A group acts just as a club whose membership is open to anybody who share similar interests.

Most of the highly popular social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter are free which makes them open to everybody. These sites mostly make their money through advertisements (quảng cáo). Other ways these sites make money is through extra features like games and other applications which should be paid by the users.

  • Music has a divine power (sức mạnh thần thánh) . It is a great source of entertainment. It binds (gắn kết) people together. It brings back several fond memories (những kỷ niệm đẹp) from the past. Music is loved by the mankind (loài người) and is essential for its well-being (sức khỏe).

Music is known as the Universal language (ngôn ngữ toàn cầu) because it knows no boundaries (giới hạn). It flows freely beyond the barriers (rào cản) of language, religion (tôn giáo), country, etc. Anybody can enjoy music regardless of his age.

Music has been one of the main sources of entertainment since the ancient times (thời kỳ xa xưa). During the earlier times, when there were no televisions, internet connection, video games or any other way to keep oneself entertained, music helped people combat boredom (xua tan sự nhàm chán).

Doctors around the world have started including music therapy (liệu pháp)  as a part of various medical treatments (việc chữa trị y khoa). As a part of this therapy, the patients listen to music. They also compose music, play different musical instruments (nhạc cụ) , dance and chant. Music is indeed a great way to boost (cải thiện) the quality of life.

Music Helps Combat (đánh bại) Fears (nỗi sợ hãi)

Each one of us is dealing with some fear or the other. While some are worried about their future others keep stressing about their past events. People also suffer from different kinds of fears such as fear of walking on a busy road, fear of staying home alone, nervousness (sự lo lắng) of attending a social event. While some of these fears are momentary (tạm thời) others are inherent (luôn tồn tại sẵn) and difficult to overcome. Music can help combat fear and make you feel better during situations (hoàn cảnh, tình huống) that make you anxious (lo lắng).

  • THE IMPORTANCE OF SPORTS

Sports and competition (cuộc thi, cuộc tranh tài) have been around since ancient times (từ thời xa xưa) , in fact playing with other members of the community (cộng đồng) is how people bond (kết nối mối quan hệ) , grow, and learn. This is not only present (tồn tại) in human culture, but many other mammal species (loài động vật có vú) also play with one another, and it’s an important part of their day.  In other words, living beings (sinh vật sống) love to compete (cạnh tranh) , it is in our nature, so sports are just who we are. And here we will explore (khám phá) the main reasons why sports are important in a community.

    Health

Sports are a good form of exercise, and the best part of it is that you don’t have to train (luyện tập) for competitive games, it can be just a recreational activity (hoạt động giải trí). It’s really important to have some sort of physical activity (hoạt động thể chất) on a daily basis (hàng ngày), regardless of your age, and sports can make that more engaging. If you are playing a sport you like, good exercise just comes with the territory (xảy đến một cách tự nhiên) and it’s not perceived (được xem là) as a chore.

It is also important for mental health (sức khỏe tinh thần). It’s healthy to compete as you grow and to come to terms with (học cách chấp nhận) concepts like victory (chiến thắng) and failure (thất bại). Being competitive can be a good drive for a person, but being overly competitive can be toxic (có hại) and the sooner one starts to work on those issues (những vấn đề) the better.

    Economy

Sports events can be pretty big, and some of the competitions attract tourists or spectators (khán giả) from all over the world. Considering how many leagues (giải đấu) or different competitions there are right now, it’s safe to say that sports play an important role in the economy of a certain city or state.

    Jobs

This one is closely connected to the economy but it’s good to have it as a separate point. The main reason for this is because there are multiple jobs (nhiều công việc) that are affected by the existence of sports competitions. Trainers, players, judges (trọng tài) , commentators (bình luận viên) , food and drink vendors, cleaning crews (đội dọn dẹp) , construction jobs, and ticket sellers. These are just some of the jobs that are connected to the stadium (sân vận động), but there are others like bookies, sports equipment designers, and manufacturers (nhà sản xuất) , clubs that train new players,  even video game designers. The list goes on (và còn rất nhiều nữa) , which only proves (chứng minh) how many people depend on the existence of sports.

National Unity (sự đoàn kết quốc gia)

Another thing we must not forget is unity among citizens (công dân) of a certain state, town, or even municipality (thành phố, khu vực) . Sports events can remind us of that sense of belonging and that we as a particular community are also a team. If people can come together and collaborate (hợp tác) , society can only go forward, and sports help us reinforce (làm mạnh thêm, đẩy mạnh) that concept. Celebrating victories are rare opportunities that people can come together regardless of opposing political views (những quan điểm chính trị trái ngược) for example.

    GROUND-NESTING BEES

You think you know what bees are all about: They make honey and live in hives with a queen and sting you sometimes, right? Well, all this is true about some bees, but just like there are lots of different kinds of rodents — big ones and small ones, species that live in trees and underground, species that love to nest together and others that just want to be left alone — Earth is home to approximately 20,000 species of bees, and they're all a little different.

Honey bees live in hives with a queen who's in charge of procreation in the colony. But most bees on the planet aren't honey bees — in fact, there are only a handful of honey bee species in the world. However, every continent has its own native bees, which occupy most spots on the planet, from the Arctic, to deserts, tropical forests, grasslands and most places in between. In North America, there are around 4,000 species, with new species being discovered all the time. Surprisingly, most bees are solitary, meaning that each mother bee provides for her own nest, and about 70 percent of native bees live in the ground.

Ground nesting bees like a variety of different ground types, but most often they nest in dry, hard-packed soil, similar to places where you might see an ant's nest.

A solitary bee nest is a tube about 6 inches (15 centimeters) long, excavated in dry soil by a female bee. There are many challenges that come from nesting in the ground: predators; moisture and flooding; intense heat; nest disturbance by people, vehicles, other large animals.

Because most of us associate bees with a honey bee's propensity to sting, we often try to get rid of bees in our yards and around our houses. However, ground nesting bees aren't dangerous. Many solitary bees are very tiny — smaller than a grain of rice — and therefore too small to sting. If they are able to sting, their venom is too weak to do much damage

    PROS AND CONS OF ADVERTISING

Advertising is defined as the paid, non-personal form of communication about products or ideas by an identified sponsor through the mass media so as to inform, persuade or influence the behaviour of the target audience.

Advertising is directed to a large number of people and not to one individual. That is why we call it non-personal. It may inform us about the features of the new iPod or a new smart phone or spell out the need to have a cancer check-up.

    Control

Relative to other marketing and communication methods, most specifically public relations, advertising messages are largely in the control of the advertisers. When you pay a medium to place your message, you typically have ultimate control over the position, timing and construct of your ad. This allows your business to develop the right messages, and which media best reach the intended audience.

    Flexibility

As noted, you have a number of media options in delivering advertising. Essentially, any communication channel where multiple people congregate is a possibility. Additionally, you can present messages one time, multiple times or tell a long-running story through an ad campaign. This allows you to evaluate the effectiveness of your ads and make ongoing adjustments. You can also choose between long-term, brand messaging which helps you develop an image for your brand, or short-term promotions to attract immediate traffic and sales.

    Costs

The most obvious drawback of advertising is the costs. Large companies invest millions of dollars a year in advertising. Television ads are very expensive. Production costs range from $100,000 to $500,000 for national ads, and placement can be as much as $500,000 for a 30-second prime-time spot on national network. Small companies are usually even more limited. Budgets of a few thousand dollars are typical for some small, local companies. This immediately eliminates TV options and leaves companies hunting for inexpensive media such as local newspapers and radio.

    Uncertainty

Companies have been increasingly concerned with accountability and return on investment in advertising. This is especially true when they hire ad agencies to develop and deliver campaigns. To succeed, companies often spend even more money in market research.

    THE IMPORTANCE OF SPORTS

Sports and competition have been around since ancient times, in fact playing with other members of the community is how people bond, grow, and learn. This is not only present in human culture, but many other mammal species also play with one another, and it’s an important part of their day.  In other words, living beings love to compete, it is in our nature, so sports are just who we are. And here we will explore the main reasons why sports are important in a community.

    Health

Sports are a good form of exercise, and the best part of it is that you don’t have to train for competitive games, it can be just a recreational activity. It’s really important to have some sort of physical activity on a daily basis, regardless of your age, and sports can make that more engaging. If you are playing a sport you like, good exercise just comes with the territory and it’s not perceived as a chore.

It is also important for mental health. It’s healthy to compete as you grow and to come to terms with concepts like victory and failure. Being competitive can be a good drive for a person, but being overly competitive can be toxic and the sooner one starts to work on those issues the better.

    Economy

Sports events can be pretty big, and some of the competitions attract tourists or spectators from all over the world. Considering how many leagues or different competitions there are right now, it’s safe to say that sports play an important role in the economy of a certain city or state.

    Jobs

This one is closely connected to the economy but it’s good to have it as a separate point. The main reason for this is because there are multiple jobs that are affected by the existence of sports competitions. Trainers, players, judges, commentators, food and drink vendors, cleaning crews, construction jobs, and ticket sellers. These are just some of the jobs that are connected to the stadium, but there are others like bookies, sports equipment designers, and manufacturers, clubs that train new players,  even video game designers. The list goes on, which only proves how many people depend on the existence of sports.

    National Unity

Another thing we must not forget is unity among citizens of a certain state, town, or even municipality. Sports events can remind us of that sense of belonging and that we as a particular community are also a team. If people can come together and collaborate, society can only go forward, and sports help us reinforce that concept. Celebrating victories are rare opportunities that people can come together regardless of opposing political views for example.

Many people want to put their best face (and body) forward, believing that appearance is the key to success in life, love and at work. This realization has led men and women to undergo 17.2 million cosmetic surgery (or plastic surgery) procedures in 2017, up 2% since the previous year. Yet, despite an estimated 132% rise in people going under knife to improve their appearances since 2000, cosmetic surgery remains highly stigmatized and its recipients are often deemed “fake.” So, does cosmetic surgery provide the lift people seek, or is it an industry fed on our most shallow needs?

Cosmetic surgery can improve confidence levels

One of the biggest advantages of cosmetic surgery is enhancing one’s appearance. For some, modifying a specific physical feature via cosmetic surgery can be a game changer, which improves confidence levels and self-image. The link between positive body image and high self-esteem is well known. People who love the way they look will feel better about themselves and experience an increase in confidence. Improving a person’s physical appearance can be the boost he or she needs to see themselves differently, change the attitudes that govern their lives and feel more accepted by the public.

Cosmetic surgery provides significant health benefits to a suffering population

In some cases, cosmetic surgery can improve a person’s health. A person suffering from regular pain as a result of the extra pressure on her back and shoulders can have a breast reduction. With cosmetic surgery, skin cancer can be removed and open wounds can be closed. Burn victims can begin to heal, and the removal of fat cells through liposuction can drastically reduce the chance of diabetes in at-risk populations.

Cosmetic surgery helps people gain a competitive edge

There is an increasing pressure for men and women to look younger and more attractive to better compete in the working world. The trend of women, as well as a growing number of men, going under the knife in the hopes of looking younger and remaining relevant at work is on the rise. In fact, in a study formulated by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS, 73% believed that appearance and youthful looks are critical for getting hired, a promotion, or new clients. If this is truly the case, then cosmetic surgery is a true competitive advantage.
