  • In this episode, we're joined by Robert Riopel, an international best-selling author, speaker, trainer, and serial entrepreneur. Robert talks about going into $150,000 of debt and being stressed to financially free by the age of 32. Robert discovered his passion for training others because he felt that if he could even assist 1 person in their financial freedom, it would be all worthwhile.

    Robert and Tamara discuss how he took control of his life and earned financial freedom. One of the things that have allowed him to live the life he's living, is that he's willing to put the work in, even when it comes to doing certain jobs he doesn't necessarily like. He and his wife became franchisees at the age of 23, but later in their 20s, but through poor planning and knowledge, they went into debt and realized they needed to change their mindset in order to create the kind of life they wanted to live in the future. This meant making tough decisions initially.

  • This week, we're joined by Robin Weaver, MS, INHC. She empowers women, specifically moms to heal their gut issues by improving their mood & reducing stress. She believes we are a culmination of not just WHAT we eat, but HOW we eat, WHY we eat, and WHO we eat with and strives to help women transform their lives because she has overcome her own struggles with the “food-mood relationship”.

    Robin sheds light on the link between our gut health and brain health.

    Dealing with bipolar disorder, her last psych break led her to psych hospital where she met her best friend who was a catalyst for her getting healthy. That coupled with her relationship with her daughter has led her to be sober for 5 years now,

    Developed chronic stomach issues in 2020 which caused her to miss a lot of days at work. Countless tests later, her GI gave her an antidepressant to help with her gut which led her to inquire more. Serotonin (known as the happy chemical) is actually produced in your gut and not your brain as most people believe. The increase of serotonin in her body actually helps to relax her stomach. Her curious nature also led her to study and explore more on the nervous system and how the gut has a direct link to the brain.

    We also learn why prebiotics is just as important as probiotics for gut health and the types of food we should be eating to get the right nutrients for our body and gut.

    Robin recommends keeping a food journal to understand how certain foods react with your body and overall well-being as well as eating intuitively.

    We also learn about how to exercise the vegas nerve such as alternate nostril breathing and a cold shower, which helps with overall stress and anxiety.

    Anca talks about her experience moving to America from Romania and whyShe discusses being triggered by a relationship and having to leave her family behind at 19She thought if she didn't make that move, she'd never be able to free herself from that relationship and she struggled to understand why she was so connected to this person that it had some form of control over heShe talks about meeting him at a young age, getting tangled in an emotionally manipulated relationship with this person, the strong bond they shared, and the impact it had on her lifeShe spent 5 years trying to break free which caused her to rebound into unhealthy relationships in that timeShe talks about how a nightmare she had in 2020 forced her to go back and relive her trauma in order to unearth it and heal because how she was acting in the present was related to things that happened in her pastThrough discovery and talking to a therapist and utilizing all the tools, she was able to heal againThrough he strong sense of spirituality, Anca allowed God to heal the places in her heart she knew were broken, which made her incapable of having full healthy relationships in the present

    In this week’s episode, Tamara chats with 4 lovely ladies, each who has dealt with their own mental health struggles. They each talk about their own experiences, what their illnesses looked like, what their support system or lack of support system was, and how they cope with everything that has or is happening in their lives. Some of these women have to continue to live with this for the rest of their lives, while others have found resolve.

    Ashley Bishop talks about being diagnosed with borderline personality disorder (BPD) after being misdiagnosed with bipolar disorder (which is very common) at a very young age. She explains what BPD is; a severe mental illness with no real medication, but shared symptoms with anxiety and depression. Losing her mom, grandmother, and aunt, and being sexually assaulted, that led her to feel lost and alone. She talks about how she received her first diagnosis after trying to attempt suicide as well as the forms of therapy she's gone through. Queen Dee, from the Queen Mindset, talks about going through highs and lows in her mental health, dealing with trauma, and how that severely affected her mental health to the point where she needed to take extended time off from work as well as being diagnosed with depression and anxiety. They talk about how we’re so affected by mental health and how that can affect our work which in turn makes that hard to communicate with peers and our managers. Dee has gotten to a place where she understands how she reacts to her triggers and how these experiences have thought her to be resilient.Audra Allen, a single mom of two kids speaks about her experience of getting diagnosed with Post Partum Anxiety after she had her daughter and her experience of manifesting signs of anger towards her daughter. She talks about taking a holistic approach at first, but then finally having to turn to medication. She was originally diagnosed with Post Partum Depression, which was later diagnosed as Post Partum Anxiety when she showed signs of anger. Audra talks about how it took her 4 years for her body and brain to really feel an emotional connection to her daughter and the double-edged sword feelings of not feeling like she could fully utilize the resources of a therapist without fear of them possibly wanting to take her kids away from her. Shannon Sarussi shares her story of living with chronic anxiety for years, an experience she never thought she would get out of. She talks about what anxiety felt like for her, how that was trauma that built up inside of her, and going through the trial and error of changing up her lifestyle to be in a better place today where she understands how things (like caffeine and sugar) can trigger her. She is finally in a place where she wouldn't consider herself as having anxiety.
