  • Episode74: The Cost of Conformity

    Explicit

Today my special guest is Carrie Jeroslow.

Best-selling author and Relationship Diversity Advocate, Carrie Jeroslow, is passionate about bringing intentionality into intimate relationships by releasing the programming of what we’re taught relationships SHOULD be and shifting to what we really WANT them to be.

Her podcast, Relationship Diversity Podcast, aims to explore, question, and celebrate all aspects of relationship structure diversity This is an inclusive space, giving people the permission to design their unique relationships from the knowledge and acceptance of their unique selves.

She has been seen on NBC, PBS, The CW, featured in, Winston Salem Journal, Prevention and Newsweek, and has been interviewed by Marianne Williamson, Go All In TV, The ListTV, and many others to share her message, as well as her first book, Why Do They Always Break Up with Me?

Just from reading her Bio you can see that we are so aligned in our missions. Today we talk about preserving our energy, people pleasing and the dangers of conformity. Why is it dangerous to conform? Isn't it important to belong and make sure that we are following the rules?

Our society is built on certain rules to follow when it comes to relationships and sexuality. Many of us have been taught to follow these rules with no regard to our own intuition or discomfort. We are not taught to ask ourselves what we would like, what we enjoy, what our needs are, etc... We are taught to put our heads down, hustle, do what you are told and conform so that everybody can get along and so that society can be easier to manage. The thing is, many people are living out a program that does fit them or even meet their needs. We have an epidemic of mental health issues and dissatisfaction. Past generations were not taugh about the correlation between our physical and mental health with the joy in our lives.

We are told that marriage to one person forever is the only way to live "Happily Ever After." However, this is false. Very few people actually have healthy marriages and relationships. There is so much infidelity and we are taught that sexuality is shameful and desiring it is even worse. Is it any wonder that we are suffering to be authentic in our world?

There is a serious cost to conformity even if you don't realize it.

  • Episode73: Loving the Life You Have with Nina Powell

    Explicit

Today my special guest is Nina Powell.

Purposed with infectious inspiration, Nina is the founder of the Wild, Divine, Orgasmic Leadership Movement. Nina is sharing her liberation with the world's most impeccable women through individual and group experiences and retreats. Her clients, the bravest of women; enjoy amazing connections to their body, feel exquisite levels of self-expression, and step into their power like nobody's business. These women access their true inner goddess, magnetize their desires, and hold a divine magnetism that brings them an impenetrable inner joy and peace.

"When my inner world transformed I realised much of my thinking of this or that not being right was my nervous system being bound up with the past. It was causing me to want to run. Fight, flight or freeze are the only solutions that our ancient brain structures have.

Truth can only come once we've transformed our inner world and reclaimed our life force.

Then we find that it’s possible to both create an amazing life AND enjoy it!"

Our conversation today went in many directions but at the heart of it, we discussed not just creating the life you want but actually loving the life you have as the catalyst for change. When we love being ourselves and love our life even when it isn't exactly how we want it, we start to create the very life we desire. When we learn to enjoy each moment and bring pleasure into our lives, we start to notice and experience things we never noticed before. When we get out of our heads and into our bodies we start to feel and experience life at a different level.

Life becomes a new adventure that we can embark on with curiousity. We can experience joy in the little things that we would never have noticed before. Pleasure is a birthright but we have been taught that it is irresponsible or an extra in life, however, without pleasure, life becomes mundane and difficult. We are built to enjoy pleasure, sensation, and joy but our society and all of it's rules have shut us down from the experience of truly living!

  • Episode72: A Former JW's Journey to Self Love and ENM

    Explicit

Today my special guest is Ariel.

I will keep her anonymous as she was kind enough to share her vulnerable story with us and allow me to interview her.

This beautiful girl has had quite a journey growing up as a Jehovah's Witness and eventually leaving the church. There is so much shame associated with leaving a religion that is deep rooted since childhood. When you are taught that you have the absolute truth, your mission on earth is to basically tell others they are wrong your whole life. It's exhausting and it is a challenge to truly love without expectation.

You are taught that self love is selfish and that you must love only God/Jehovah, or your life is basically meaningless and you risk being shunned and ostricized by the only community you have know if you question anything.

Ariel was able to leave and rebuild her worldview as well. She has learned to deeply treasure herself and has overcome the shame around sexuality and body image. Modesty is revered in these communities and anything else is sinful. It is so hard to shed that programming and become sex positive.

Now, she is a beautiful example of self love and successful Ethical Non-Monogamy. She is able to embrace who she is to her core and make deep lasting connections with people in this beautiful world that are based on love and true authenticity.

I want this for all of you! Enjoy this week's episode.

    Love, Karine

Do you even know what your turn ons are? Are you living with joy in your body? Do you pay attention to how your erogenous body or "pussy" feels on a daily basis?

This episode is truly magical and "pussylicious." When was the last time you really connected with your body enough to listen. Sacred pleasure gives us permission to get into our sensual bodies and recognize that this part of our body deserves so much more attention that what society leads us to believe. Our society knows that if we all were successful at getting rid of shame and guilt about our bodies and our sexuality, we would be so empowered and literally unstoppable. This is our lifeforce and you can't control a society that is so tuned into and aware of their bodies.

I would like to imagine that woman listening to their pussys could completely change this mental health crisis we are in. Men tapping in to their sensual selves would start to really "know" themselves and show up in relationships with empowered vulnerability and care. It's amazing what happens when we give ourselves permission to get out of our heads and really start living and feeling.

It's time to really shed this shame and guilt about our turn ons, bodies, needs and desires and start LIVING our PUSSYLICIOUS LIFE!

  • Episode68: Part 2: Is Polygamy Allowed in the Bible?

    Explicit

Well here is Part 2 where we talk about Designing your relationships in a way that is ethical and conscious for you.  My special guest is former Pastor Raymond Harris again and we get into Part 2 of his deconstruction. The deconstruction of his faith and his beloved scriptures.  Raymond went to Bible School to learn how to study the Bible and teach it effectively.  He calls himself a “logician” using logic and hermeneutics to interpret the “Word of God”

What do you do when someone in your congregation asks you if Polygamy was allowed in the New Testament?  Well, listen to this two part series about questioning what you’ve always known.

If you grew up in the church, this conversation will be refreshing and eye opening.  Questioning my faith and my programming was one of the most difficult things I have ever gone through in my life.  It was scary and frustrating.  It felt lonely and isolated from everything I had ever known.  It’s hard to comprehend how challenging it is to have your whole world, everything you’ve ever known, come crashing down around you.  Unless you have been a part of a fundamentalist religion, you have no idea how much bravery this kind of investigation requires.

I wanted to have a two part series really delving into the deconstruction process and what that looks like.  I know that these kinds of conversations helped me so much when I was going through this difficult journey 15 years into my “perfect” Christian marriage.

Raymond still loves to study the Bible and quotes several verses during this enlightening conversation.  He says, “I have navigated away from the professional business arena. I observe life, reflect, meditate, and participate in day-to-day life, primarily interacting face-to-face with individuals, providing personal, relational, and spiritual insights and general life guidance.”

Grab a warm mug of something yummy and get cozy.  This is a long one but is so interesting.  I hope you enjoy it and if you resonate with any of this, please reach out.  It’s not easy to go through this alone.  It’s why I do what I do.  I am so passionate about Breaking Free Authentically.  I thought it was a great way to end 2023.

We will take a couple weeks off for the Holidays.  We will be back the 2nd week of January with the episode I know you’ve all been waiting for, EPISODE 69!!!!

This would not be a sex positive podcast if we did not do something special for episode 69.  I will be bringing back one of my hilarious guests Topher Lynn the creator of "Sip, Strip or Smooch" for this episode.  Please send in your questions!!! In my view, our connection to our physical environment is a gateway to connecting with our deepest selves."

Nalasa is all about authenticity. She wants us to connect to the authentic version of ourselves in order to discover what lights us up and gives us pure joy energy. Our homes should be a reflection of us. It's a place where we can express ourselves and create an environment that we feel good in.

This is also what is important for our relationships. We seem to think that once we are in a relationship, nothing can change anymore. The truth is, we should revisit our agreements and our design. Our relationships should be safe place to reflect our true selves without shame. We are told that once we commit to something we can't change our minds and revisit things. Why not? People grow and change and our desires grow and change as well. Why wouldn't we be allowed to renegotiate new terms or a new design? Instead, we just break up? That makes no sense. We don't just move house if we don't like something. Often it's as simple as a redesign.

She is a poet, writer, and “story unweaver” in the spiritual erotic realm where divine feminine energy and sacred masculine form reflect Spirit in the human experience. After being a stay-at-home mom for 12 years, followed by a 12-year career as an educator in the school system, Lorna turned her focus to wellness, first for herself and then as a teacher of energy medicine, bodywork, somatic sex education, and Bondassage. Through their work with Lorna, people are coming home to themselves. Sexually, Spiritually.

  • Episode60: Overcoming Fear, Shame, and Guilt in Authentic Communication

    Explicit

Today I'm talking about fear, shame, and guilt and how it affects our ability to communicate. I'm doing a solo podcast today because I've had a lot on my mind lately both personally and as a coach. So many people struggle with authentic communication and I wanted to bring attention to it.

In this episode we talk about:

    1. Understanding the Impact of Fear and Shame

    2. The Drama of Burying Feelings

    3. The Burden of Responsibility for Others' Feelings

    4. The Role of Guilt in Communication

    5. Embracing Authentic Expression

We need to be mindful of minimizing our emotions just to protect others from feeling pain. But that can be so difficult when we feel responsible for other's emotions and reactions. Our trauma responses often cause us to be hyper vigilant towards other people's reactions to us and our reality. We are so afraid of becoming a burden that we keep our truth to ourselve so that we protect our outer peace. The problem with that is it ends up disrupting our inner peace and then we struggle even more.

  • Episode59: What is Your Erotic Blueprint?

    Explicit

Today my special guest is Tina Koopersmith MD.

She is a physician AND coach, best-selling author, speaker, athlete perpetual student and always a mom. ( can you tell she is a shapeshifter). She is dedicated to modifying our health care system from one focused on illness and sickness to one devoted to prevention and wellness.

For 30 years as a fertility specialist, she focused on bringing life to her patients and now she wants to bring humans back to life. She wants to remind us all that EROTICISM is the SECRET sauce to wellness. Prioritizing Pleasure reminds our nervous system that we are safe in our bodies—. And Sexuality can be a great way to re-member ourselves back to wholeness before life led to dissociations –brokenness-- and hurts.

We need to nourish all 4 of our bodies: the mind body, the heart body, the physical body and the energetic body because we are ALL worthy of self-care, self-acceptance and self-love.

Tina talked about the Erotic Blueprints and we discussed the differences between each one. There are 5 Erotic Blueprints:

1 Energetic - anticipation, longing, tease

2 Sensual - mood, touch, sight, sound, environment (basically using all 5 senses)

3 Sexual - traditional ideas of sex, destination of orgasm, nudity, porn, striptease, sexiness

4 Kinky - the taboo, pushing your edges, anything that seems wrong to you

5 Shapeshifter - can be all of them at different times depending on circumstance

Learning what your Erotic Blueprint is can be a game changer in the bedroom. It can make the difference between having a sex and true pleasure and intimacy. Imagine understanding what your body needs in order to be turned on and experience mind blowing O's?

She says that PLEASURE and PLAY is your portal for being pregnant with your life!!

We talk about Emotions being "energy in motion" and how Disease or dis-ease is your body being out of ease and trying to talk to you. We are complex beings that are always seeking balance in life. It's time to embrace all of life including our eroticism. Pleasure and eroticism are just as important to life as healthy, nourishing food.

  • Episode58: The Impact of Sexual Shame

    Explicit

Today my special guest is Sarah Grace.

This podcast comes with a trigger warning this week. We talk about the real impact of childhood sexual abuse and the affects of shame on our culture. Trauma affects so many and it takes many forms. Most are based in shame and guilt on some level.

Sarah is the founder and owner of Living Limitlessly: Thriving after Childhood Sexual Abuse and her private community, Find Your Voice: For Women Worn Out From Constantly Prioritising Others. She is a Trauma-Informed Hypnotherapist specialising in helping high functioning, professional women, who have boxed up and attempted to forget the childhood sexual abuse that they experienced, process their trauma so that they can live the life of joy freedom and fulfilment that they crave.

She has learned that you have to feel in order to heal. She has recently experienced the incredible healing benefits of EMDR on her nervous system. EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitizing Reprogramming. If you have questions about this kind of treatment, you can reach out to Sarah. She has several options available for women that have gone through sexual trauma and want to regain their power, passion, and wellbeing in life. She wants them to feel in their bodies again and not just live in their heads.

One of the most prevalent trauma responses is one of People Pleasing. In both of our work, we help you to remove the programming that says that your voice is not as important as others. We allow you to rediscover who you really are and find out what you actually want in life.

Come on a journey of healing with us!
