  • This week we bring back Jaimeā€™s interview with the inspiring Raphan Kebe, owner of Space and Flow, from the archive. Rapha is a business owner, coach, mentor, teacher, poet and hypnotherapist in training. I met Raphan Kebe years ago at a yoga retreat in Valmy, France. Raphan's style as a teacher was different than any yoga class I had ever taken. He was down to earth and inclusive. He played Bob Marley and Ben Harper. His yoga felt available for everyone, at any level. Led to yoga from a back injury, he followed this path out of necessity, having to close down his dreams of being a touring musician.

  • In this episode, we dive into the transition from launching your business to reaching the milestone of 10,000 in revenue. While this leap may seem daunting, it's entirely achievable with the right mindset and approach.

    Key Points:

Transitioning to Revenue Generation: Moving from no revenue to generating income marks a pivotal phase in business development. However, it's essential to recognize that this phase requires a different set of skills and strategies compared to later stages of growth.Expecting Challenges: Anticipate that this journey will take time and patience. By mentally preparing for challenges along the way, you'll be better equipped to handle setbacks and disappointments with resilience.Mindset of Persistence: Adopt a mindset of persistence and resilience, similar to the actress who persisted through 64 auditions before landing her first role. Understand that each rejection or setback brings you one step closer to your goal.Nurturing Relationships: In the initial stages, focus on nurturing relationships rather than immediately building a website or marketing your product. Building a network and connecting with individuals who resonate with your offerings is crucial for long-term success.Define Your Offering: Before diving into website development or extensive marketing efforts, spend time defining your product or service. Ensure that it aligns with your values and resonates with your target audience.Start with Your Inner Circle: Begin by identifying potential customers within your immediate network. Don't overlook the importance of leveraging personal connections and sharing your offerings with those who know and trust you.

As you embark on the journey from zero to ten thousand, remember to approach it with patience, persistence, and strategic planning. Focus on nurturing relationships, defining your offerings, and leveraging your existing network to lay a solid foundation for future growth. Stay tuned for more insights and guidance on your entrepreneurial journey in the upcoming episodes.

  • Todayā€™s episode of Business for Humans is about how to show up with more confidence as a leader.

Confidence is the centerpoint of a good leader. Confidence isnā€™t about ego or stubbornly pushing people to do what you want them to do, itā€™s about standing in your conviction.

Good leaders see potential in their people and have a vision for how to get them there.

When they show up ā€˜wishy washyā€™ or changing their mind if someone is unhappy, if they continually question their ideas; that lack of confidence will show up as a lack of conviction, a lack of vision and it will erode the teamā€™s trust.

Itā€™s not important to push ideas on people, listening is important too, but when they push back, know what you stand for. Donā€™t let their emotions or actions sway your confidence.

When you stand tall and believe in your ideas; other people start standing taller too. When they know you have a vision for them, that you have their back; they build more confidence too.

Listen in for more tips to help you become a confident and successful leader.

Where are you out of alignment? Are you trying to convince yourself that youā€™re doing ok, even when you feel off?

  • Change is inevitable, but it is not always welcomed. We are constantly evolving and shifting, our cells are regenerating and our emotions are ping ponging between happiness, sadness, grief or heartbreak. Nothing is permanent, but it takes time for shifts to happen.

In todayā€™s episode Jaime talks through the importance of allowing these shifts to happen while not rushing them. We canā€™t control the pace at which change will happen, but we can sink into and reflect on the shifts.

Leaders who want to elevate or level up, need to have patience as they work through the process. They also need focus and discipline not to give up when things get hard, or painful.

How can you lean into the shifts instead of resisting them? Tune in to find out.

  • Do you beat yourself up when you slow down? Are you always running towards growth? When did we decide that resting or taking our time was bad?

ā€œSlothā€ is one of the seven deadly sins, which means that the negative impact of acting like a sloth has been imbedded in our DNA over many centuries. The latin translation of sloth is ā€œacediaā€ or ā€œwithout careā€. If we slow down, if we rest, we think it means that we no longer care.

In this episode, you will learn how to slow down in order to take more intentional steps in your business.

What are the feelings you ultimately want? When you think about running and striving, what are your running and striving for? Security? Calm? Joy? Can you have those feelings without running? Jaime thinks you can. Take a listen.

  • Episode 34: Using Feedback to Create Trust

Leaders often fear hurting someoneā€™s feelings and donā€™t provide feedback. But that pain is just pushed down the road. When someone thinks they are performing well and then is surprised when they donā€™t get a raise or promotion, you will sabotage their trust in you and unintentionally cause them pain.

In this episode, you will learn the importance of feedback and what feedback is and isnā€™t.

Feedback is not personal, and it is not a judgment. Feedback is about relieving pain points.

The goal of feedback is to enhance someone elseā€™s performance and to relieve pain. Sometimes, we cause unintentional friction or pain as leaders. If no one is clear with us or brave enough to give us feedback, we will never improve or stop causing unintentional pain.

  • We all want quantum leaps. Itā€™s our human nature, our Western work ethic, to move further faster; to 10x our business instead of 1xā€™ing it. We want to grow and earn without needing time to grow and learn. We want to take pills to lose weight tomorrow instead of changing our habits and taking a little off each day.

A quantum leap is defined as an ā€œabrupt transitionā€ from one energy state to another. We think we want the thing right now, but in the case of lottery winners, we see how that abrupt transition throws them off and forces them to revert back to their original energy state by losing all of their money. But we want to win the lottery, it feels easy; we want to jump the shark and skip the steps and get to the life we want and skip the pain and resistance.

In this episode, you will learn how focusing on micro-shifts, as tedious as it might feel, will better prepare you for arriving at your goal.

What type of micro-shifts can you be focused on in your life or business?
