  • Ágnes Varga was born in Győr, Hungary, and has been fond of languages all her life. Her desired career path was to study English to become an interpreter or a diplomat. However, with a sudden decision, she chose to study Computer Science in addition to English at the University of Veszprém, which changed her whole career path. After graduating, she became an Assistant Lecturer, then later a Senior Lecturer at the Department of IT at Széchenyi University in her hometown, Győr. During this time, she brought back her love for languages into her PhD thesis about the possibility of automatic post-editing of machine-translated text, which she finished in 2012.

After getting her PhD, memoQ approached her, and she has been working with them for the past 10 years: 7 years as a Software Developer, then a Development Team Lead and Product Manager, and now as a CTO, managing an outstanding Production team.
