  • Catherine and Mason meet through mutual friends. The couple decide to marry, move into a quiet neighborhood in Houston and have two children. As the now Herring family grows, Mason Herring establishes a successful law firm while Catherine Herring steps down as an executive with a non-profit to spend full-time raising the children.

Catherine Herring is pregnant with her third child and catches her husband lying about his whereabouts and texting a former female colleague. After a confrontation, Mason Herring tells his wife he wants to separate so he can work on himself, and moves out. The couple goes to marriage counseling and their therapist suggests they spend Spring Break together. Mason Herring tells his wife he wants a divorce but would look like a jerk divorcing her while she is pregnant. Catherine Herring still has hope for the marriage and believes they can work it out. During their Spring Break together, Mason Herring brings his wife breakfast in bed.

Mason Herring seems to be getting excited about their third child and encourages his wife to drink more fluids as it is better for the baby. To that end, along with breakfast in bed, Mason Herring brings Catherine a glass of water with the food, insisting she drink it all while he watches. The water is cloudy but the dutiful husband promises it is just old pipes or slightly dirty glass. Catherine Herring drinks all the water. About 30-minutes after Mason Herring leaves for work, Catherine becomes sick, painful stomach cramps, diarrhea, and after her third trip to the bathroom realizes she is bleeding heavily. Herring goes to the emergency room where even after she is treated and sent home, she is still bleeding.

After getting home from the hospital, Mason Herring continues to bring drinks to his wife, including a bottle of orange juice. The seal on the bottle is broken and a powder is seen in the bottom of the bottle. Catherine Herring doesn't drink what her husband gives her, but she saves it and takes the evidence to a private investigator. Surveillance cameras inside their home catch Herring putting a powdered substance from a bag in his pocket into a drink that he gives his wife.

Catherine Herring retrieves the trash and finds a blister pack of Cyrux, a generic version of misoprostol, the drug most commonly used to induce an abortion. Catherine Herring meets with Houston police.

Mason Herring was arrested in November 2022 and charged with assault with intent to force an abortion, assault of a pregnant person and attempted injury to child. Mason Herring agrees to plea deal, first assault charge is dropped and the injury to a child charge is reduced to a third-degree felony. Herring will spend 180 days in county jail with 10 years probation.

  • Nick Davi and his wife move to Las Vegas and join Grace Point Church. As the family grows with the birth of two children, so does Nick Davi’s calling.

Nick Davi joins the staff at the church, eventually becoming the Pastor of Operations, overseeing the church’s 30,000-square-foot facility.

The family settles in a gated townhome community in the North Las Vegas Court at Aliante. Over the last year, difficulties with a neighbor have made it necessary for Davi to make multiple complaints to the Homeowners Association. And that’s not all. The situation is so bad.

Davi calls the police twice in one month and obtains a restraining order against the neighbor. The family even moves out of their condo for a few weeks to de-escalate tensions. They stay with friends but return home as necessary to collect additional clothes and personal effects.

When Nick Davi files for a restraining order against his neighbor, he tells police he and his family feel “terrorized ” after weeks of alleged harassment. The family says the neighbor threw rocks and large amounts of dog feces into their yard, accused the neighbor of flooding their home, and during one confrontation threatened the Davi children who were playing in their backyard.

The neighbor reportedly pulled a finger across her throat in a cutting motion and said the family was next.

The Davi family stops at their home to get fresh clothing and other personal items. The family is pulling out of a parking spot as Joe Junio drives by them, and according to 8 News, parks her car right next to Davi's car and rolls down her windows. Pastor Nick gets out of his car to talk to Junio, as the children use a cell phone to record the altercation.

As Nick Davi asks Junio "What is your problem with us?" Junio opens her car door, takes a shooter stance, and fires a gun at Pastor Nick Davi.

Davi is shot in the stomach. Junio then turns the weapon on Sarah David.

According to Grace Point Pastor Ty Neal, "Sarah goes on the offensive and wrestles the gun away." Sarah Davi is shot in the thigh.

Joe Junio runs into her townhouse as 911 is called. Pastor Nick Davi dies from his injuries.

  • Denisse Oleas-Arancibia has not been in touch with her son and is worried something has happened.

As her son reports her missing in Queens, where she lives, the front desk at the SoHo 54 Hotel on Watts Street is being asked to perform a wellness check on one of their guests. Despite a "do not disturb" sign on the door, a hotel employee entered the room and saw the 38-year-old Oleas-Arancibia lying covered with a blanket. She looked like she was resting so the employee quickly backed out of the room and reported to the front desk that the guest was sleeping.

Police, following up on the missing person report filed by her son, end up at the SoHo 54 Hotel in Manhattan. It is around 10:30 a.m. when a maid enters the room and realizes that Denisse Oleas-Arancibia is not sleeping, but rather, the blanket has been used to cover the body of a woman who has been beaten to death.

Police arrive at room 1190 on the 11th floor of the SoHo 54 Hotel and find a bloody crime scene with evidence left behind by the possible killer. The victim has been beaten and strangled, and there are fragments of plastic embedded in her head and an iron covered in blood next to her.

Police catch a break when they find a pair of blood-soaked men's pants with a receipt.

Police find surveillance video of the man in the leggings walking through the lobby and immediately begin their hunt. NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny says police have video of the woman arriving at the location wearing a distinct pair of leggings and later on a male, leaving the hotel wearing the same leggings. And of course, the male pants covered in blood left behind in the hotel room

Investigators say they can track the suspect's movements through the victim's credit card and MetroCard the suspect allegedly stole and is using. As investigators are identifying their suspect in New York, Arizona Police have their hands full with a one-man crime wave.

On February 17, in Phoenix, Arizona, an attempted carjacking and stabbing happen. The next morning, February 18 at 8:30 a.m. in Surprise Arizona, a man goes into a McDonald's women's restroom, crawls under a stall door, and threatens a McDonald's employee with a gun. She screams and he stabs her several times before fleeing the facility.

Police arrive at the McDonalds in Surprise Arizona but the suspect has fled on foot. Employees get out a good description of the man and in a matter of minutes, someone matching his description steals a car. Surprise, Phoenix, and Scottsdale

Police are all alerted and looking for the stolen car when the Scottsdale Police see the vehicle and get a good look at the suspect driving. He is pulled over and police take 26-year-old Raad Almansoori into custody.
