  • Join us on this episode of Give A Shift, where we sit down with the inspiring Jane Schuring, a trailblazing retired airline captain and author of "Plane Jane: Earning My Wings".

Discover Jane's extraordinary journey through the skies and the barriers she shattered along the way. Despite facing relentless skepticism about her age and her place in a male-dominated field, Jane's unyielding spirit and positive outlook turned potential obstacles into remarkable achievements. Tune in to hear how her "never say never" attitude and resolute determination prove that with the right mindset, the sky's truly the limit. Don’t miss this uplifting story of resilience and empowerment that will inspire you to chase your dreams, no matter the altitude!

    More about Jane:

After experiencing some difficult life challenges, Jane's decision to pursue a career change from a twenty-year flight attendant to take flying lessons during what could be called a mid-life crisis (divorce, temporary job loss) was met with barriers at every stage. In spite of hearing, "You're too old," or "No one is hiring," Jane was determined to achieve her dream, eventually ending her almost 44-year career with Continental/United as a Boeing 737 Captain. Her story will inspire those who have experienced the highs and lows of life's trials, particularly a career in the aviation industry. With stories to tell along the way, it began with a spontaneous trip to Los Angeles for an interview as a 'hostess' in 1969, and ended with a smooth landing in Houston with fire trucks on each side of the aircraft spraying the traditional water cannon salute to a retiring captain.

  • Join us today as we dive deep with Kyla Faye Dickerson, Mindset Mentor, Health & Wellness Coach, as she shares her wisdom and experience of knowing there is beauty beyond pain, and when you tap into your feelings, there is boundless joy beyond measure for you. Your journey to healing, to self-love, to confronting past traumas, to being ALIVE, requires feeling it all. Let yourself feel the feelings you have. With no judgement. Your journey is yours. The more we shove things down, and say we will deal with it "later" and we don't get real and raw, just delays our journey to heal and feel.

    About Kyla:

Kyla grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah. There she applied for a little TV show called The Bachelor and was chosen to be a contestant on Season 2 of this show.
She then competed and took home the title in the Miss Utah USA Pageant and continued on to compete in the Miss USA Pageant representing her state. This was the beginning of Kyla’s discovery of all things entertainment. She started hosting on local networks in her hometown in Utah and then wanted to try it in the big city! So she moved to LA and she started hosting red carpet events and conducting interviews for various Internet shows.

Kyla found her passion while in LA and discovered that fitness was what filled her with so much joy! She became a successful fitness trainer and group fitness instructor who prided herself in maintaining a positive attitude in all areas of her life! She invited everyone to adopt a healthy lifestyle, mentally and physically! Health and Fitness is a way of life for her.
Kyla is also a certified Personal Trainer. She believes in educating people on how important a healthy, active lifestyle is. She believes that fitness truly makes you healthier in your mind, body and soul.

Her passion for fitness continues to drive her to bigger and better projects; such as a program she just created and launched in January called “Renew and Reset: The Flow Method.” A way for women to find true flow and JOY with their overall wellness.

Kyla has a very positive outlook and adventurous spirit, and her family values mean the most to her. Her best friend, who also happened to be her mother, passed away from breast cancer in 2009. Although this was a great loss for Kyla, it gave her the opportunity to work closely with the Susan G. Komen organization and Race for the Cure. She organized her first fundraiser a few years back in honor of her Mother- "Pretty in Pink Ribbons Gala- Darla Dickerson Cancer Fund"

    Kyla facts:
    * ABC's The Bachelor, Season 2 (featured bachelorette)
    * Fear Factor, Miss USA Edition 2004
    * Miss Utah USA 2004 (Winner)- then went on to compete at the 2004 Miss USA competition in Los Angeles, CA
    * She has ran many marathons (3:23:01) fastest race and 1st in her division- She completed the Boston Marathon with a time of 3:34. She has completed 25 Marathons to date.

  • Grief. We all experience it. The type of loss may be different, and how we process it may be different, but it transforms us, whether we realize it or not. Join in today and listen as Tammy Faulds, Inner Travel Grief Coach, shares her wisdom and insight on grief, and life. As she beautifully states, “it’s about more than just navigating grief. It’s about shedding fear, releasing doubt, and opening yourself up to new beginnings.” Once you find Tammy, you are not going to want to let her go!

    More about Tammy:

Since 2010, Tammy Faulds has been utilizing her heart-expanding and holistic coaching skills to guide people through loss to life.

Being an avid learner, Tammy has continued to tickle her grey matter and has earned her certifications as a life coach, death doula, grief specialist, and yoga and meditation teacher. However, Tammy’s education really began at the innocent age of 6 when she received a cancer diagnosis. And over the years, whether it's for her annual oncology appointments, while working with seniors as they candidly share some of life's regrets, or sitting bedside with loved ones in extremis - she’s constantly reminded that life, and the death that will inevitably come, is precious.

And she finds this fascinating. Liberating in fact. Because death needn't be feared. In fact, death is just misunderstood. And it's screaming to be heard because it knows it can truly teach us how to live out life in a way that no book, no movie, and no TED talk can.

But we have cold feet and we're too scared to have the conversation. Which is why Tammy’s made it her duty to lovingly facilitate these heart centered conversations. And why Tammy’s made death, her life's work.

What Traver has found is that alot of men aren't doing that well. They feel lonely, unhappy, hopeless, directionless, anxious and low on confidence. And they get lumped together with society fogetting each is an individual, with their own experiences, feelings, thinking. Sound like you? Are you ready to break free from the black hole of the mundane and step into your power?

Listen is as Traver shares his transformative journey and how he now works with men, helping them create theirs. Traver Boehm is the author of the books "Today I Rise" and "Man UNcivilized".
