Karen Carpenter was one half of the Carpenters, a brother and sister singing duo that sold over 150 million records and they had 17 hits. She was an amazing drummer and singer. Her voice had no equal. But despite her amazing talent, she was a tortured soul that suffered from an eating disorder at a time when such a thing was misunderstood and it eventually took her life. And quite possibly that may be why her spirit is at unrest. Join us as we share the history and hauntings of Karen Carpenter. Like so many other asylums that started in the early 1800s, this was first a poor farm and then became an asylum, sanatorium and psychiatric hospital. At its height, the facility stretched out over 900 acres with 78 buildings, making it the largest psychiatric facility in America. Eloise became a decaying former mental hospital, but is today a haunted attraction with escape rooms and it hosts historical tours and paranormal investigations. Stories of spectral activity are numerous and this is one of the most haunted places in the Detroit area. Join us as we explore the history and hauntings of the Eloise Asylum!

Nestled within the Canadian Rockies in southwest Alberta is Crowsnest Pass. The name is a translation of Native American words that meant "the nest of the crow." Crowsnest Pass is an area of stunning scenery, but also a place of tragedy, rum running, coal mining and was the home of the last woman to hang in Alberta. The Skirvin Hotel was meant to be the most grandiose and fancy hotel in the area. And it was, hosting some of the luminaries of the day. Now it seems to be hosting spirits alongside the living. The Bastille is a former jail that dates back to the Wild West and ran as a jail for nearly 70 years. The building has had many iterations after it closed as a jail. This was an art gallery, a restaurant, a bar and a nightclub. Today, it stands empty and in need of major renovations. This may or may not please the current residents of the building, the ghosts. The Novel "To Kill a Mockingbird" was written by Harper Lee in 1960. The story details a black man accused wrongly of the rape of a white woman. It was as though Harper Lee had heard the true story of Robert Milton. Milton was a black man accused of rape by a white teenager in 1920s Mississippi. He was convicted and executed and most people believe he was an innocent man. Perhaps that is why he haunts the courthouse where he was hanged, the Old Tishomingo County Courthouse. Join us for this compelling story of how rape was treated in the 1920s, how racism biased a jury and the history and hauntings of an old southern courthouse.

The Winchester Mystery House or Winchester Mansion is one of the most unique and bizarre homes ever built. The mystery part of the name refers to the interior infrastructure. It truly is a mystery why certain elements were constructed. There are stairways that lead to nowhere and doors that open to walls and windows on the interior of the house. Legends and rumors permeate the history of the home. Was the weird construction an elaborate attempt to fool spirits to keep them at bay? USS The Sullivans is berthed now at the Buffalo Naval and Servicemen's Park in New York. We learned a lot about USS The Sullivans when we toured the USS Yorktown in June 2024. It's a very different name for a ship and that's because it was named for five brothers who all died aboard the same ship when it was sunk by a Japanese submarine during World War II. Those brothers just may be haunting their namesake. Or maybe there are other spirits here. Join us as we explore the history and hauntings of USS The Sullivans. The Bellaire House has a big reputation and is located in southeastern Ohio in the city for which it is named. Great battleships and aircraft carriers have always been a massive asset and a nation with an abundance of them was a power to be feared. The USS Lexington was a massive aircraft carrier that set more records than any other Essex Class carrier in the history of naval aviation during a career that made it the oldest working aircraft carrier in the US Navy. The Crandell Murder shocked the nation. Sylvester Crandell shot his mother-in-law, his step-daughter, his wife and himself in 1887. This was the worst crime Saratoga County had experienced up to that point. All four people would die and the main motivation seems to have been money. Sylvester Crandell and wanted more of it and when his wife and mother-in-law wouldn't give it to him, his rage erupted. And in the wake of the crime, it seems that the Crandell House has some paranormal activity.

Prisons had once been thought of as just holding areas to punish people. In the late 1800s, a movement started that aspired to a higher ideal of reform, rather than punishment. Eastern State Penitentiary was built to launch that reformation in the American penal system. The prison's edifice is formidable and resembles a castle.
