  • As you embark on your decluttering and simplifying journey, you start to ask yourself questions such as:

    What am I making space for?

    What dreams have been buried in the stuff and chaos around me?

    Where do I find my self-worth as a mom and woman? Is it in the roles that I play and the things I own, or something deeper?

    When we start simplifying and creating space in our homes, calendars, and minds, it opens up so much more than extra square footage or hours in our day. It allows us to dream, to see where our self-worth truly comes from outside what we have and what we do, and to reach our greatest potential as moms and women.

    Rose helps busy working moms declutter their homes, simplify their work lives, and clear their minds. After struggling to balance a teaching career and 2-year-old triplets, Rose was introduced to minimalism in 2012. Inspired by the “less is more” philosophy, she let go of 70% of her family’s possessions in eight months. She eventually left the classroom to pursue a career helping other working moms create happier lives with less stuff. Rose’s advice has been featured on TEDx and USA Today, and she’s been a guest on Good Day Columbus, WYSO, WVXU, and Good Morning Cincinnati.

    In today’s episode, certified professional life coach and mom to three Natalie Hixson gets real about her own struggles with destructive anger and shares the tools that have allowed her to recognize her anger, tame her triggers, and overcome negative thoughts.

  • Once I removed the physical clutter and calendar clutter that was no longer serving me, I was left with my thoughts. We can’t control our thoughts and according to research we have 12,000-16,000 of them a day. But the issue is that 80% are negative and 95% are repetitive - in other words, they are the negative thoughts, limiting beliefs, “shoulds”, and to-do’s swirling around in our brain.
