An electronic composition, original sounds created in Pure Data - both a response to the haiku & an elegy for John Hinks.

This is a reworking of my contribution to the collaborative exercise, the right-hand part of: https://soundcloud.com/ray_cobley/diluted-disorder-with-encym-disquiet0637?si=8014e0c43a394dc9b938c666bbf0d50e&utm_source=clipboard&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=social_sharing
I wanted to create a more interesting standalone track & (I hope) have done this by carefully applying numerous tweaks to the dynamics plus a degree of delay & reverb.

I haven't time for anything complicated this week so this track is a relatively straightforward reworking of: https://soundcloud.com/rabmusiclab/pheasantry?si=5ade0285a3e6422b8c623d45119fcbc5&utm_source=clipboard&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=social_sharing

For this one I downloaded: https://soundcloud.com/randomshuffle/disquiet0637gemastered (with thanks to the original artists). I added a textured drone sequence.

I downloaded this track: https://soundcloud.com/winterer/some-discriminative-finetuning-disquiet0637-23-second, with thanks to the original artists. I added a suitably adjusted and enhanced recording I made of men and machines at work.

A live quasi-serialist electronic composition created in Pure Data.

For a second contribution I used the track by 33per - https://soundcloud.com/33per/firebells - and added an electronic sequence panned toward the right.

I extracted some of the better quality bits from the longer track and added an experimental sequence I recorded with small instruments, then added a little reverb.

This track includes a vintage vinyl recording of the Aria & Variation 1 from the Goldberg Variations played by Wilhelm Kempff (available on the Internet Archive). After it was subjected to numerous filters and a touch of reverb, etc, some evolving electronic drone was superimposed. The original piano recording gradually loses clarity as the track progresses.

It is impossible to replace the elements of a complex instrumental or electronic track with a single voice. Hence I just roughly imitated the basic tempo of my recent video soundtrack 'Drive'
(available at https://youtu.be/cCRMg1JtFrM)
I recorded my vocalisations while playing the track then added various fx to create the illusion of multiple voices. The final result does not bear much resemblance to the original but was fun to do and should not be taken too seriously.
