Today weâre talking THRIFTING! If youâre anything like Mary, you love secondhand stuff and the unique joy it brings to your home. Artist and collector Virginia Chamlee joins us to share her tips, tricks, and secrets to scoring vintage furniture.
You will learn... - how thrifting builds confidence - tips for finding valuable vintage furniture and decor - mistakes people make when they shop secondhand
Virginia Chamlee is a writer, artist, entrepreneur, and avid collector of vintage. She is the author of Big Thrift Energy, a manual for finding beautiful (often valuable) pieces of design for pennies on the dollar, and a source of inspiration for those looking to collect or style vintage in their own homes. A lifelong collector of vintage design, Virginia has spent years scouring thrift stores, estate sales, antique malls and flea markets for truly incredible, museum-worthy finds (like that Goyard trunk she found for $90, or the floor-length Christian Dior cape scored at Goodwill for $9). She believes even the most high-quality design should be accessible for everyone, and that the antiques industry is long overdue for a shakeup (and maybe a little more, well... energy).
An accomplished artist, her paintings and prints are available via exclusive partnerships with Chairish, Artfully Walls and Anthropologie. Virginia is also a professional writer with bylines at PEOPLE, Buzzfeed, Eater, Bustle, and others.

Last year, Mary did an interview with Christy Harrison on her podcast, Rethinking Wellness. Tune into this deeply personal conversation about... - Maryâs history as a bikini fitness competitor starting at age 16, and how it both triggered and exacerbated an ED - how social media algorithms drive us into more extreme diet and wellness content - why Mary thinking of quitting influencing despite finding much success on social media (and why Christy Harrison has already left Instagram)
Though this episode was recorded 10 months prior, everything Mary said still holds true. Social media seems to be doing more harm than good and with every passing day, Mary is more and more tempted to call it quits.

Iâm out of town for 2 weeks hosting another self-love retreat; this time in southern Portugal with 20 women coming from all over. So in attempts to preserve my energy while still keeping the pod going, I thought itâd be fun to revisit an older episode called âLearning the Difference.â
This episode is about DISCERNMENT: the ability to perceive, judge, and understand things in an empathetic, rational, conscientious way. I believe that many things in life lie on a spectrum with nothing being inherently good or inherently bad in all contexts. Thatâs why itâs important that we have discernment not to judge others, but rather to know the difference for OURSELVES. Discernment is the act of choosing whatâs serving you and releasing whatâs not, and doing so with self-compassion. Tune in to learn how to discern!
You will learn⊠- how to find balance with food, exercise, work, and other things in your life - an important question to ask yourself to determine if something is serving you or not - advice to help you feel more at peace and content
Remember: life is about learning YOUR difference.

The reason you feel behind in life is because youâre comparing yourself to others who seem to be ahead of you.
When you compare yourself to people who graduated, got jobs, got married, reproduced, bought cars and houses and vacations, not only are you doing a disservice to yourself, but youâre also contributing to the narrative that âsuccessâ is measured by external achievements rather than inner fulfillment.
Hereâs how to stop comparing yourself to others and start accepting that you are exactly where you need to be.
Let this episode be a refreshing, encouraging reminder that feeling lost, directionless, or behind in life just means that you are taking the necessary time to pave your own way.

âSome of us knew who we were and then we lost our way. Some of us never became our Self in the first place. We grew older, we aged, our roles and functions changed, but we never grasped our essence. We became many things- a professional, a partner, a mentor, a parent, a friend- but we never truly became our Self.â ~ pg. 22 in Dr. Sara Kuburicâs book, Itâs On Me.
If youâve ever felt this wayâ lost, like you donât know who you really areâ then this conversation is for you.
Dr. Sara is a psychotherapist who focuses on existential psychology after a long journey of experiencing, studying, and explaining the concept of âself-loss.â
You will learn... - how to answer the question âwho am I?â - why hearing advice like âgo find yourselfâ and âfigure out who you areâ is unhelpful - the first step for how to create an AUTHENTIC sense of self
Remember: who you are evolves over time, but if we are stuck checking boxes and pleasing others, then we will always feel inauthentic, disconnected, and lost in life.
