Between Scott, my partner, and I, Scott is definitely more of a foodie. When I found Gastropod, I realized that while my palate isn't as refined as Scott's, I do love to learn about the history and science behind food. Gastropod feels like the podcast equivalent of eating comfort food. I hope you enjoy learning food science in a fun way as much as I do!

How many times a day do you get asked the question, why or how? Let's just say at my house, if I got a nickel for every time my kiddos asked me a question, I had to Google, I would have a lot of nickels.
This week's kid podcast is for all those curious kids out there. It's called DRAC. It's about a vampire who doesn't thirst for blood, but for knowledge and this storytelling podcast is one your kiddos will enjoy!

It's no secret that I love kid podcasts, they have seriously changed my life as a mom!
When I found out that there are apps dedicated to kid podcasts, I knew I needed to find out more. That is how I found Rachel Lacey, who is one of the co-founders of the kid podcast app, KidsPod. She is one of my favorite kid podcast experts, which is why I wanted to get some kid podcast recommendations from her.

Not many people know this about me, but I am a family history enthusiast. The only party I throw every year, besides my kids birthday parties, is a Dia de los Muertos party, where we all get together and talk about our ancestors. We also eat really good food that is all of our ancestors' favorites.
When I found a podcast all about family history and learning about people's stories, I knew that I had to talk about it on my show.

My partner, Scott, did a church service mission in Finland for two years before we met. I have fallen in love with this amazing country from his stories and after visiting several years ago.
This week I wanted to honor the way that Finns celebrate Valentine's Day. In Finland, Valentine's Day isn't just a day dedicated to romance exclusively, but celebrates wider friendships.
The Finnish term for Valentine's Day, juustuvanpäivä, translates into Friend's Day. Here are some fun friendship podcasts to celebrate Finland's version of Valentine's Day!

I have so many good memories of snuggling up and watching the Disney princess movies as a kid. Since having my own kids, I'm a bit more wary of the way the princesses were portrayed in those movies. When I found the kid podcast Girl Tales, which reimagines fairy tales into empowering stories, I was so excited to share it with my kids, and with all of you.

I used to be one of those people that had to have my New Year's resolutions or affirmation in place and concrete by January 1st.
A couple of years ago, when I had sick kids for the whole week between Christmas and New Year's, I realized how silly it was to put an arbitrary deadline on something that I was hoping to work on for an entire year. I decided that the entire month of January is when I would figure out what my new year will look like.
That's why I decided to wait until a little bit later in January to talk about some personal development podcasts you might want to listen to as you figure out what 2024 is going to look like for you.

One of my favorite types of podcasts to listen to in the winter is cozy podcasts. One of the first cozy podcasts I ever found was the All Things Cozy podcast. I've already done an episode where I chatted with the hosts, Matt and Gillian about their show, but I wanted an excuse to have them back on.
I asked if they could share some of their favorite podcasts and they agreed! In this episode Matt and Gillian both give two of their favorite podcasts that are cozy. Hopefully you will find a new favorite podcast too!

My son is an animal lover. His favorite animal changes often, but there is always a place in his heart for marine animals. So when I found this podcast, I knew we had to listen to it and share it with other marine animal lovers. It's called Dive in with NOAA Fisheries. That's NOAA as in National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

I love listening to episodes when podcasters get a little more personal, do you?
One I really enjoy is when Kendra Adachi, the host of the Lazy Genius podcast, talks about what is saving her life right now. I've started doing my own version of these episodes too where I share some of my favorite things. I hope that other moms can relate to these favorite things and what is saving my life right now!
