In this week's episode, we sit down with holistic dog coach and guru Isaac Mass. In an entertaining discussion covering a wide range of topics, Isaac describes his background in the Hasidic world and how he evolved into the man he is today. While not orthodox in the traditional sense, Isaac displays a mastery of ancient Jewish texts, citing one after another to introduce important lessons that we can all learn and grow from. Displaying wisdom beyond his years, Isaac gives his take on why some men are called upon to experience the challenges of divorce and shows maturity in describing how he realized he and his then-wife had evolved but in separate ways, necessitating the break-up, though in a respectful, peaceful manner. We also get into Isaac's approach to working with dogs and how he is able to hone in on a dog's personality to help their owners enjoy their beloved canines. Isaac is clearly a proud dad to 2 boys, gushing over their various character traits and how he leverages their qualities and character traits to bring out the best in each of them. Isaac's high-energy personality is mesmerizing, and we could have kept going for hours had time permitted. If you want to feed off a dynamic, exciting, and vibrant man with much to offer, Isaac's episode is for you. So sit back and enjoy! Contact Us to Share Your Story: https://toodadtoquit.com/contact

In this week's episode, we sit down with divorce support mediator Yaakov Kessler. An excellent listener and articulate communicator, it was immediately clear to us why Yaakov excels at helping couples mediate through the divorce process and avoid the unnecessary wars that often accompany divorce. We covered a range of topics such as personality conflicts, child-rearing, relationships, and even the often-heated topic of Agunot (women who cannot remarry under Jewish law due to not receiving a Jewish divorce). Offering a balanced perspective on things, Yaakov wisely describes how he doesn't look at things from a right or wrong perspective, but rather from what he can do to facilitate the needs of each party to a divorce. For those who think that divorce must be an all-or-nothing combative process, think again. As Yaakov demonstrates, divorce doesn't have to be horrible, and not only can a divorcing couple walk away serenely, but most importantly, the children can benefit from peacefully coexisting parents. It is not impossible and not beyond reach. If this sounds appealing to you, then sit down and listen to the wisdom of Yaakov Kessler! Contact Us to Share Your Story: https://toodadtoquit.com/contact

In this week's episode, we sit down with none other than Ben's older brother, Eli! Similar in voice only but nothing else to the discernible eye, Ben and Eli take us on a spirited discussion down memory lane. Eli candidly describes how he helped raise Ben and care for their mom during her struggles with raising the children following their parents' separation and divorce. Offering his perspective on the challenges of a child growing up with divorced parents, Eli portrays a complicated relationship with his dad, while at the same time exhibiting peace and understanding that comes with age and experience.
In a moving tribute to their late brother Phil who died tragically in a motorcycle accident, Eli shares how it impacted his life and how he marks the anniversary of his death every year in a moving tribute with Phil's favorite foods. We also get into Eli's various brushes with potential death and how he always has managed to stay one step ahead. Witty and hilarious, Eli's energy is infectious, and you are sure to walk away not only thoroughly entertained by Eli's candor but also enriched from Eli's perspective as a child of divorce. Enjoy! We sit down with none other than Ben's dad, Fred Stern! In an understated fashion, but with an entertaining, wry sense of humor, Fred takes us on a tour of his life through his adventures building rockets, obtaining his pilot's license, and flying his family across the country. We particularly enjoyed Ben's banter with his dad, as they exchanged story after story, giving us real-time insights into the dad-son dynamic.
In his personal life, Fred was divorced while Ben was a baby and has since remarried having fathered another son and raised a step-brother to Ben. Fred offers valuable and experienced insights into his perspective on divorce, why he feels fathers should not remarry while the kids are young, and how it can impact one's ability to fully be present as a dad.
Fred also discusses the excitement of a new relationship but the "baggage" that inevitably comes after the passage of time and how one must learn to accept such baggage to make a second relationship last as he has in his own life. Fred opens up about his feelings over his relationship with Ben's mom and their challenges in communicating both pre and post-divorce.
Finally, while not overly emotional in nature, Fred vulnerably describes how painful it was to hear about Ben's divorce, how he wanted to do anything to help him, and how proud he is of all of Ben's ongoing accomplishments in a touching "Too Dad To Quit" moment. This is an episode that will pull at your heartstrings, so don't miss it! Contact Us to Share Your Story: https://toodadtoquit.com/contact

We sit down with a man who's lived many lives, Yitzchak Jaffe. In an honest and articulate manner, Yitzchak shares his journey from studying to become a reform Rabbi in New York to finding himself in the hub of ultra-orthodox Judaism in Bnei Brak, Israel, to returning to America to try life in Kansas and ultimately to settling back in Israel, this time in Jerusalem. During that journey, Yitzchak got married, had 4 children, divorced, and remarried! Recognizing how much of an impact his divorce had on his own life and wanting to help others in similar situations, Yitzchak wrote a book about his experiences, "You're Doing Everything Wrong: Dating, Marriage, and Divorce: Advice from Deep within the Trenches". If you think that title is packed, then you need to see the actual book which is filled with insights and advice from someone who's lived it. In addition, we get into Yitzchak's epiphany about his love and admiration for his own parents following a harrowing life-threatening experience, how he embraces his role as a dad and his love of skydiving!
