President and CEO for the American Association of Independent Music (A2IM), Dr. Richard James Burgess MBE has produced, recorded, and performed on many gold, platinum, and multi-platinum albums. He was previously head of business at Smithsonian Folkways Recordings where he produced Jazz: The Smithsonian Anthology, chronicling the history of jazz and The Smithsonian Anthology of Hip-Hop and Rap. His career path includes studio musician, touring musician, recording artist, producer, manager, and label owner. He is known for his pioneering work with synthesizers, computers, sampling, EDM, New Romantics, early house music, as the inventor of the SDSV drum synthesizer and for coining the music genre terms EDM and New Romantic. His latest books are, The Art of Music Production: The Theory and Practice, 4th Edition and The History of Music Production (Oxford University Press). Jenna LoMonaco is a Digital Marketing expert who has used her love of music and knowledge in the social media space to help break up and coming artists into the mainstream music space for over 17 years
After studying audio production and working at a recording studio straight out of college, she truly started her career in PR at Girlie Action in 2005. In 2007 Jenna got her first big role at an up-and-coming record label, Glassnote records as the Head of New Media. It was there where she blossomed her skills in the digital space, helping break artists such as Mumford & Sons, Phoenix, and Childish Gambino. After 5 years at Glassnote, she left to join the new Label Services branch at Kobalt- Kobalt Label Services. Jenna worked in the digital department where she handled digital strategy for artists such as Martina McBride, Lenny Kravitz, and New Kids on the block.
In 2015 as Island Records was relaunched as a solo label after separating from Def Jam, Jenna joined the Island team to run the Digital Marketing department. It was here that she begin to work with a newly signed teen artist, Shawn Mendes. Using her social media knowledge she helped create a social media strategy to help grow Shawns social following into the multi-millions. She also lead the digital marketing efforts for artists such as Jessie Reyez, Nick Jonas, The Killers, Elton John, Bon Jovi, Tove Lo, Fall Out Boy, and Demi Lovato.
In 2021 Jenna Joined ONErpm to lead their US Marketing team. Since then she has doubled their marketing staff and launched new marketing services including Digital Strategy, Brand Partnerships and Sync. David M. Israelite is President and CEO of the National Music Publishersâ Association (NMPA), a position he has held since February 2005.
Israelite is responsible for overseeing all aspects of NMPAâs operations, from legal strategy and implementation to government affairs and advocacy. His leadership has produced revolutionary successes on behalf of publishers including the largest CRB rate increase in history, groundbreaking industry collaboration in royalty rate agreements, landmark settlements and model licenses with streaming platforms, and ultimately raising the profile of the publishing community. Additionally, Israelite was instrumental in guiding the effort to modernize copyright laws culminating in the Music Modernization Act (MMA) and the subsequent creation of the Mechanical Licensing Collective (MLC).
He has been named to Billboardâs Power 100 multiple times and serves on the boards of the Songwriters Hall of Fame, the Country Music Association and Special Olympics DC. He also serves as the President of the NMPA S.O.N.G.S. Foundation (Supporting Our Next Generation of Songwriters) which supports songwriters through funding scholarships and direct services, among other assistance.
Prior to leading NMPA, Israelite held senior positions in various capacities for the U.S. government including at the Department of Justice where he served as Deputy Chief of Staff and Counselor to the Attorney General of the United States and was appointed Chairman of the Departmentâs Task Force on Intellectual Property. He also worked in the U.S. Senate where he was Administrative Assistant (Chief of Staff) for Missouri Senator Kit Bond. Previously, Israelite also practiced law in the Commercial Litigation Department at the firm of Bryan Cave, LLP in Kansas City, Missouri.
Israelite earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri and his undergraduate degree from William Jewell College.
