On today's episode of Opinions Matter, we heard from a woman originally from Africa who is living in Balbriggan and says her family has been subjected to persistent racist abuse in their neighbourhood. She told us her children have been repeatedly targeted and that she no longer feels safe in her own home.
Believing the situation has become unbearable, she's calling on the council to urgently transfer her family to another house.
Should families facing serious racist abuse be prioritised for a council house transfer? Or are there other solutions that should be explored first?
Listen now and let us know where you stand.

Today on Opinions Matter, we spoke to a woman who was left questioning her relationship after her boyfriend made a shocking confession.
The couple had been together for five months and were talking about moving in together when he told her there was something she needed to know.
He admitted that, on a stag weekend a few years ago, he had a drunken sexual encounter with one of his male friends. He insists it was a one-off, says he's not gay, and has never been with a man since.
The confession has left her wondering if she can continue the relationship.
Was she making too much of something that happened years ago, or can you understand why she was so upset?
The debate had our listeners completely divided.

It’s the special weekend “Get It Off Your Chest” edition of Opinions Matter — completely unedited, completely chaotic, and full of the stuff Adrian and Jeremy ramble about while the live show is building on Facebook.
Jeremy gets compared to Andrew Ridgely… and a full-blown row breaks out over whether it’s “Wham” or “Wam”.
There’s a “first world problems” session, including Jeremy expensing a Dolby Atmos soundbar and then getting complaints about the bass from the management company.
And wait until you hear what he did on his wedding night… it’s filthy, weird, and somehow all about money. -
Today on Opinions Matter, emotions ran high after we heard from a woman who says she's being vilified for having an affair with a married man – insisting she's done nothing wrong and is just as much a victim as anyone else.
The topic sparked one of the most explosive debates yet, with Adrian and Katie taking completely opposite sides. Is the "other woman" to blame... or should all the responsibility lie with the married partner?
There was a lot of anger on this podcast today!!!

A listener in the UK, Andy, is raging after a 10-year-old girl with autism and ADHD told his 8-year-old that Santa, the tooth fairy and “all that” aren’t real — leaving his daughter in bits and the magic ruined.
When Andy confronted the girl’s parents, he says they got defensive, refused to address it, and used the diagnosis as an excuse. Andy’s reaction (and language) sparks a huge debate.
Callers clash: should parents be teaching autistic kids what’s appropriate, or should everyone else show more understanding? And is it ever ok to tell your child to stay away? -
After the horror in a Tramore church, a listener called Megan asks a question that’s been driving her mad: why are people instantly more obsessed with an attacker’s nationality and skin colour than the victim?
Adrian and Jeremy dig into the online speculation, the “send them home” pile-ons, and the way social media rage-baits tragedies before any facts are known — even when the person charged turns out to be Irish. -
Should back-to-school allowance be for every family… or only those who pass the means test?
Adrian and Jeremy tear into a message from James, a Dad of four who says it’s “all or nothing”: if low-paid families get the Back to School Clothing and Footwear Allowance, why shouldn’t everyone? Jeremy reckons working families are being punished, while Adrian says it’s there for people who genuinely need it. -
E-scooters won’t be banned outright, says the government… but the new rules are about to get very, very tough. So on this episode Adrian and Jeremy ask the blunt question: should e-scooters be banned completely?
With shocking injury stats from Temple Street, callers clash over whether these things are “death traps” or a vital way to get to work — with Jeremy fighting his wife’s corner as a responsible rider.
From helmets, high-vis, registration and licensing, to “yup-bros” flying around estates and parents “not giving a fuck”, the debate gets heated fast! -
It’s the weekend “Get It Off Your Chest” episode — uncut, unedited, and full of the most random ramblings you won’t hear on the weekday debates.
Jeremy goes into full Karen mode over “invaders” having cans on his precious Dublin 18 green… and somehow it turns into a row about Satzenbrau, class snobbery, and whether you should be allowed drink in public at all.
Then he takes aim at young people “living their best life” in Thailand, Patagonia and Indonesia — and claims that’s why they’ll never afford a house.
And finally: are holiday brochures still a thing… or are you stuck in 1992? -
New figures show more than 6,300 people have been on Jobseekers Allowance for 10+ years — at a cost of around €800 million. So Adrian and Jeremy ask the blunt question: is there any excuse on God’s earth for staying on the dole that long?
The debate takes a turn when a “chef” claims he can’t get work because “invaders” took the kitchen jobs!!! -
A listener from Drimnagh says she confronted a local man in Brickfield Park who was allegedly taking photos of teenage girls — and she wants parents warned, and daughters “covered up”!
Is this straight-up victim blaming… or just common sense in a world where everyone has a camera phone and “weirdos” are out there? -
A Dublin City Councillor has gone on Fox News and told Americans “don’t come to Ireland… it’s not safe” — and it’s sparked a massive row.Adrian and Jeremy tear into Gavin Pepper’s comments, the Jamie Carney murder investigation, and the controversy over Gardaí not releasing a “person of interest” photo. Is Ireland actually unsafe… or is this just anti-immigration politics and social media fear-mongering?
-
Italy has just passed new laws that would ban sex education in primary schools and make it opt-in (with parental consent) in secondary school — and it’s sparked a massive debate: should Ireland do the same?
Adrian and Jeremy ask if parents should have the final say on lessons covering homosexuality, gender identity and trans issues… or if that’s a dangerous “slippery slope” that lets people opt out of anything they don’t like.
Callers Jess, Chloe, Anthony, Amy and Aine go head-to-head on “trans ideology”, tolerance, social media influence, misinformation like the “furries in schools” claim, and whether schools are educating kids… or “pushing an agenda”. -
It’s the special weekend “Get It Off Your Chest” episode – completely unedited, totally random, and full of the kind of nonsense you’d never get away with on normal radio.
Katie admits she’s convinced she’ll die alone and be eaten by her cat… before the gang launch into the great cats v dogs war, and a surprisingly heated row over the most vile word in the English language.
Then it’s brand snobbery at its finest: Heinz vs Chef ketchup, HP vs YR brown sauce, Lyons vs Barry’s – and why some people deserve jail for “red sauce”.
And finally, Katie commits the ultimate sin… she buys her daughter pink Crocs. -
A loyalist bonfire in Moygashel, Co. Tyrone has sparked outrage after a mock-up mosque was placed on top with the slogan “secure our borders, end the threat of radical Islam” — and it was set alight early when police moved to remove it.
Adrian and Jeremy ask: is this pure sectarian, hate-filled carry on… or “just a bonfire” making a political point?
One gay listener says he struggles to feel sympathy because of Islam’s attitude to LGBTQ people, while others rip into the hypocrisy of “patriots” down south cheering on the same loyalists who burn tricolours, the Pope and the Virgin Mary. -
On todays podcast, a wife and mum caused uproar when she revealed what she told her daughter.. the exact reason why mammy and daddy broke up!

It’s a follow-on to the Ballymun dog story episode — and this time the focus is on the fallout: the viral claim that “three Somalians” were caught cooking a dog in a public park… despite no video, no photos, and no proof.
A listener says the people spreading it should be arrested for inciting hatred. Adrian and Jeremy tear into how easily social media turns a made-up rumour into “fact”, and what that does to an entire community.
Callers clash over freedom of speech vs defamation, accountability for influencers, and whether forced retractions (or worse) are the only way to stop dangerous fake news. -
A horrific video from Ballymun sparked a rumour that “three Somalians were spit-roasting a dog in a field" — and the story exploded across social media and even into the UK.
In this episode, Adrian and Jeremy call it out as “absolute bollocks”, asking one simple question: where’s the proof? With the NSPCA confirming they investigated burnt remains, and eyewitness Keith describing melted wheelie-bin plastic and an axle — not a barbecue spit — the lads dig into how Chinese whispers turn into “facts”.
Live callers react, tempers flare, and the bigger issue is hammered home: a dog was killed, and fake news is distracting from justice. - Laat meer zien
