  • *disclaimer! I said the prophet called shaaban neglected paraphrasing the Hadith

    The actual Hadith-

    Usamah bin Zaid said:

"I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I do not see you fasting any month as much as Shaban.' He said: 'That is a month to which people do not pay much attention, between Rajab and Ramadan. It is a month in which the deeds are taken up to the Lord of the worlds, and I like that my deeds be taken up when I am fasting."'

  • On this episode Nafisa reflects on the fact that when you love someone you do things for them to be pleased and you stay away from things that are displeasing to them to prove your love for them.because that love is enough reason to do things even if you don’t understand why they like it or why they might not like it , the love you have for them is enough of a reason for you to let go off that thing or hold on to it.

So what then of our claim of loving Allah?🥹

Love IS a VERB, it’s an ACTION as well.We can all make tall claims , whether it’s claiming to love Allah or claiming we have faith in our hearts.

But faith and love are verbs as well . If love and faith are truly in our hearts , what’s our proof?

Do we do what Allah likes? Do we stay away from that which He (swt) dislikes?

What’s our proof?what’s our evidence that our claims of faith in and love for Allah are true?

She also reflects on the fact that we can’t love however, one we do not know. We can’t trust one we don’t know. Sacrifice for one we don’t know .

we need to know Allah to love him for how can you love whom you don’t know?

We NEED to get to know Allah so we can love him, sacrifice for Him , trust in Him, rely on Him.

This is a series on YouTube that I say is the BEST! thing on the internet 🥺☹️

Names of Allah and His attributes

-Ustadh Hisham has a different approach to it, He explains the names of Allah the way Allah presents them in the Quran, those that are paired in the Quran will be explained as pairs etc

It’s a beautiful approach in my opinion and it’s absolutely amazing

    Who is Allah?

-This video is also absolutely amazing.

Welcome or welcome back to a digital journal!

This episode has to be one of my absolute favorites!I grew up LOVING seerah( the stories of the Prophets), in whatever form! And I have always loved the story of Prophet Musa (AS) and yesterday I came across this post from Bayyinnah tv saying “sometimes all you need is Haroon” and I woke up today thinking about that.

Sometimes all you need is a companion.A support. Something or someone to confide in, someone to support you and hold you and guide you and ride with you through the ups and downs of life someone to be there for you , to strengthen you and keep you going…

And so we reflect on the story of how Prophet Musa AS being a Prophet of Allah requested that Allah gives Prophet Harun AS to him(his brother) to come along with him and support him on his mission to deliver the truth to the Pharoah ( Firaun) and his people.

And reflected on SO MUCH MORE!The Quran! The Quran! Upon you is the Quran oh servant of Allah.

    Have a listen

And I pray Allah makes this beneficial! For you , for me , for anyone who comes across it!

  • This episode is about being mindful when we see others in positions we wouldn’t want to be in and being careful not to think at that moment that somehow WE are better than them.

In the Quran The Story of Prophet Adam, in different verses Allah tells us about when He SWT instructed that the angels prostrate to Prophet Adam AS but the shaytan ,Iblees not only disobeyed and refused to prostrate he also said that He was BETTER than Him( Prophet Adam AS).

    The sin of Arrogance .

Many call it The First Sin.

Subhannallah. He said it there in the Quran Allah quotes his saying “I am better than him”

    -

Allāh] said, "What prevented you from prostrating when I commanded you?" [Satan] said, "I am better than him. You created me from fire and created him from clay [i.e., earth]."

    Quran 7:12

    Note to self *

Never think you are better than anyone. For there are many skeletons in your closet that Allah has hidden and not exposed. And Allah has favored you today with wealth and health but can easily take it away. So stay humble and be kind.

But being humble does not mean we shouldn’t change evil when we come across it for :

On the authority of Abu Sa`eed al-Khudree (may Allah be pleased with him) who said:

I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say, “Whosoever of you sees an evil, let him change it with his hand; and if he is not able to do so, then [let him change it] with his tongue; and if he is not able to do so, then with his heart — and that is the weakest of faith.” [Muslim]

That were mercilessly unalived, may Allah accept them all as matrys! May Allah relieve our brothers and sisters in Islam and in humanity from all those that oppress them! And Allah himself comforts us that mourn them saying :

And never think of those who have been killed in the cause of Allāh as dead. Rather, they are alive with their Lord, receiving provision,

Rejoicing in what Allāh has bestowed upon them of His bounty, and they receive good tidings about those [to be martyred] after them who have not yet joined them - that there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve.

They receive good tidings of favor from Allāh and bounty and [of the fact] that Allāh does not allow the reward of believers to be lost -

Those [believers] who responded to Allāh and the Messenger after injury had struck them. For those who did good among them and feared Allāh is a great reward -

…And the verses go on subhanallah 🥹

    Starting from Quran 3:169

    I hope it’s beneficial.

    May Allah make it beneficial!

I remembered the Arabic 😭 my teacher used to say :

    may God honour you -

    أكرمكم الله

    - Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) having said:

By Him in Whose Hand is my life, if you were not to commit sin, Allah would sweep you out of existence and He would replace (you by) those people who would commit sin and seek forgiveness from Allah, and He would have pardoned them.

    Sahih Muslim 2749

    - Narrated Abu Huraira:

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Adam and Moses argued with each other. Moses said to Adam. 'O Adam! You are our father who disappointed us and turned us out of Paradise.' Then Adam said to him, 'O Moses! Allah favored you with His talk (talked to you directly) and He wrote (the Torah) for you with His Own Hand. Do you blame me for action which Allah had written in my fate forty years before my creation?' So Adam confuted Moses, Adam confuted Moses," the Prophet (ﷺ) added, repeating the Statement three times.

    Sahih al-Bukhari 6614

narrated by al-Bukhaari and Muslim from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), who said: “The area between my house and my minbar is one of the gardens of Paradise.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari (1196) and Muslim (1391).

Anas (RAA) narrated that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said:

“All the sons of Adam are sinners, but the best of sinners are those who repent often.” Related by At·Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah with a strong chain of narrators.

Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) say: “Whoever performs Hajj for the sake of Allah and does not utter any obscene speech or do any evil deed, will go back (free of sin) as his mother bore him.” (Narrated by al-Bukhari, 1449; Muslim, 1350)

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "No fatigue, nor disease, nor sorrow, nor sadness, nor hurt, nor distress befalls a Muslim, even if it were the prick he receives from a thorn, but that Allah expiates some of his sins for that."

    {…That is because whenever they suffer from thirst, fatigue, or hunger in the cause of Allah; or tread on a territory, unnerving the disbelievers; or inflict any loss on an enemy—it is written to their credit as a good deed. Surely Allah never discounts the reward of the good-doers.}

  • Hello assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullah wa barakatuh !

In this episode Nafisa reflects on accepting life as it is and the journey to pursuing patience.

It was narrated from Mus’ab bin Sa’d that his father, Sa’d bin Abu Waqqas, said:

“I said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, which people are most severely tested?’ He said: ‘The Prophets, then the next best and the next best. A person is tested according to his religious commitment. If he is steadfast in his religious commitment, he will be tested more severely, and if he is frail in his religious commitment, his test will be according to his commitment. Trials will continue to afflict a person until they leave him walking on the earth with no sin on him.’”

"When Allah wants good for his slave, He hastens his punishment in the world. And when He wants bad for His slave, He withholds his sins from him until he appears before Him on the Day of Judgement."

And with this (same) chain, (it was reported) from the Prophet (ﷺ) who said: "Indeed greater reward comes with greater trial. And indeed, when Allah loves a people He subjects them to trials, so whoever is content, then for him is pleasure, and whoever is discontent, then for him is wrath."

    Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2396

Allah does not require of any soul more than what it can afford. All good will be for its own benefit, and all evil will be to its own loss. ˹The believers pray,˺ “Our Lord! Do not punish us if we forget or make a mistake. Our Lord! Do not place a burden on us like the one you placed on those before us. Our Lord! Do not burden us with what we cannot bear. Pardon us, forgive us, and have mercy on us. You are our ˹only˺ Guardian. So grant us victory over the disbelieving people.”

  • Hey Assalamu Alaikum wa rahmatullah wa barakatuh! So reflecting on the little activity we had over a the podcast Instagram page with the girls regarding inauthentic narrations we had heard our whole lives that we later found out were untrue , I realised it is so scary to be the one that shares an inauthentic narration or conveys it to other people.

And while I was listening back on an episode I had posted “ why isn’t something in you moved..?” I remembered there was a specific narration that I read that: One day, a young companion named Anas ibn Malik, accidentally broke a plate and instead of scolding him, the Prophet Sallallahu alaihi wasallam reassured him.

I remembered I had read it but I had not taken note of the reference and I went on to check and could not find any authentic information on it. So I wanted to ask for your forgiveness if you shared that , please forgive me it’s been deleted from the episode now but if you shared the episode in your story please share this one as well so we can help each other .

It’s all scary subhanallah, in a time of social media now and the way everything works so fast we really need to be careful and try our best to make sure what we share has authentic evidence to back it up.

I hope you forgive me. May Allah forgive us all. And I pray this encourages you to be very careful of what you share🤍🪻

  • Hey everyone assalamu alaikum warahmatullah. Today I listened to this from my drafts. And I found it gave me hope.i hope it is useful 🪻🤍

Sometimes we make mistakes and wonder how on earth we got to such a low.We begin to feel like there’s no going back and we have just ruined our relationship with Allah. But subhanallah understanding there’s something inside of us that prompts us to do things that are actually unacceptable and understanding it’s human to err and understanding the regret we feel is hopefully a sign of our faith and it’s supposed to catalyse our repentance and push us to change- understanding these concepts and being at peace with it while acknowledging we do have something that is a part of us we really need protection from keeps us sane and hopeful .

This is what I’ve learnt about the nafs - the lower/animal self that always just wants and seeks control of our hearts.

I’ve learnt from this that I really need to start heavily praying to Allah to protect me from the evil prompting of my own nafs cause an enemy within is much more dangerous I feel that the enemy outside of you.

But that part of us is not all of us so we shouldn’t allow it to define us , we should seek Allahs help to protect us from listening to it and giving in all the time and also take up measures to deny it when it instructs us to do bad. However not if but when we do slip- because we are children of our Father Adam AS , we are those who make mistakes, we should not be hesitant to return to Allah . To repent to Allah.

Honestly I feel it’s the mercy of Allah that He swt attributes evil to not us directly but factors within us or around us, so we understand that we are not completely bad, we are flawed yes but we are not completely bad.

    And I think that’s beautiful 🥹

follow the podcast instagram page for when we share our findings and learning experiences about different topics 🪻🤍🤗

Another lesson was reflecting on the guilt the generation before us must have felt but that Allah still honoured them after repentance.

    Narrated Al-Bara:

We faced the pagans on that day (of the battle of Uhud) and the Prophet (ﷺ) placed a batch of archers (at a special place) and appointed `Abdullah (bin Jubair) as their commander and said, "Do not leave this place; if you should see us conquering the enemy, do not leave this place, and if you should see them conquering us, do not (come to) help us," So, when we faced the enemy, they took to their heels till I saw their women running towards the mountain, lifting up their clothes from their legs, revealing their leg-bangles. The Muslims started saying, "The booty, the booty!" `Abdullah bin Jubair said, "The Prophet (ﷺ) had taken a firm promise from me not to leave this place." But his companions refused (to stay). So when they refused (to stay there), (Allah) confused them so that they could not know where to go, and they suffered seventy casualties….

    Sahih al-Bukhari 4043, 4044

Finding Balance Between The Spiritual and material - Surah Al Qiyaamah

  • “Isn’t it yet time you feel something when you remember Allah?”

*in the beginning parts of the episode I said don’t be intimidated by the Quran , in the sense of fearing it when you’ve made a mistake that you avoid it and neglect it completely. don’t run away from Allah. Yes you should be scared. Ashamed . Frightened at the thought of the consequences of what you’ve done but who will you run to? Come back to Allah ,don’t let “fear” push you away. It’s a trick. Pick up the Quran with all the shame you feel and fear. Repent to Allah. He will guide you and forgive you.Allahs door is always open.🥹

In this episode, we explore a powerful verse in the Quran where Allah (SWT) asks, *"Isn’t it yet time for those who believe to feel something when they remember Him?"* This question is a call to reflect on our hearts—are they softened by His remembrance, or have they grown hard?

“Has the time not yet come for believers' hearts to be humbled at the remembrance of Allah and what has been revealed of the truth, and not be like those given the Scripture before—˹those˺ who were spoiled for so long that their hearts became hardened. And many of them are ˹still˺ rebellious.” Quran 57:16

“And ˹remember˺ when We took a covenant from the children of Israel ˹stating˺, “Worship none but Allah; be kind to parents, relatives, orphans and the needy; speak kindly to people; establish prayer; and pay alms-tax.” But you ˹Israelites˺ turned away—except for a few of you—and were indifferent” Quran 2:83

We delve into how our approach to others can shape our spiritual path. Sometimes, in seeking piety, we mistakenly think it means being harsh or distant. But true faith transforms us from within, reflected in kindness, gentleness, and love toward others. When we lose compassion, our acts of worship can feel empty.

We end with a reminder of how Allah (SWT) guides us toward true heart-softening:

Devote yourself to Him alone.Honor your parents and nurture those relationships that need you—relatives, orphans, and the needy.Speak beautifully to and about others.Pray regularly to stay connected.Give zakat.

Ref regarding sacrificing for Allah swt to be pleased. Understand that your Lord is The source and Creator of Generosity itself!!! Sacrifice for him! He will give you ! But not only will he give you! You will be satisfied!!!🥹🥹🥹🥹

Many wish they could do some good again. Any good. Any good at all but their test is done. Their time is up. The paper has been taken. Their book closed.

Do something with the time you have left.🪻🤍

Don’t delay any good you intend to do.

Say the good word. Smile at them. Apologise to that person. Pray that prayer . Seek forgiveness. Make the wudu before bed. Read the mulk after isha. Cry to Allah. Break down. Whatever it is , don’t delay ANY good you intend to do.

For you will need it on that day. Every ounce of it.🥹

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "When a man dies, his deeds come to an end except for three things: Sadaqah Jariyah (ceaseless charity); a knowledge which is beneficial, or a virtuous descendant who prays for him (for the deceased)."

    [Muslim].

    - ref regarding why I take time to post episodes but I think I don’t use it the right way , as you read above good deeds should not be delayed , so I guess it’s about finding a balance , take your time and do it well , don’t be hasty but don’t prolonge it so much that it never gets done.may Allah grant us strength.

Sahl bin Sa’d (RAA) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:

“Haste comes from Satan.” Related by At-Tirmidhi who graded is as Hasan.

  • In this thought-provoking episode, Nafisa confronts a profound question: *Am I living in a way that prepares me for death and the Hereafter, or have I become consumed by the distractions of the dunya (worldly life)? She dives deep into the reality of death and the consequences of our choices in the next life.

Drawing on powerful evidence from the Quran and authentic narrations from the Sunnah, she explored the journey of the soul from the moment it leaves the body, to the grave, and beyond. She reflected on vivid descriptions of the trials of the grave, the terror of the Day of Judgment, and the unimaginable torments of Hellfire for those who turn away from Allah’s guidance.

As she examined these truths, we’ll challenge ourselves to ask: Is this the life we want to face our Lord with?

This episode serves as both a wake-up call and an invitation to realign our priorities, reconnect with our purpose, and live in a way that leads to eternal success in the Hereafter.

Tune in for a powerful reminder of what really matters and hopefully encourages you to make the most of the time you have before it’s too late.

Ps the dua of my friend and I was not to say we doubted Allahs wisdom infact I forgot to state she actually acknowledged that Allahs wisdom surpasses all that we think , he knows why it is they are going through this, the prayer

“Ya Allah I’ve learnt my lesson please grant them ease please let it stop”

Was more or less like us reflecting on if truly our actions have played a role in their struggles we are so sorry Allah, we submit, we’ve learnt our lesson, forgive us so the balance can be restored
