He only had a Pocket of Hope.
Chad freely admits that had it not been for his relationship with God, he would not be here today. His years of horrific child abuse led him into a life full of gangs, drugs, and alcohol. This also led him to time in prison.
In 2001, Chadâs mother killed his stepfather. But in his darkest times, he also knew God had more planned for his life than what he was currently experiencing. Chad never gave up working and believing that one day this would come together, and it would allow him to help millions of people that suffer from depression, trauma, and PTSD.
In 2004 Chad was honored as one of the Ten Most Outstanding Young Americans (TOYA) in the country. In 2008, he was awarded with the Daily Points of Light by President George Bush.
But by 2020, Chadâs health began declining because of fibromyalgia and his own battle with PTSD. As he began to write his book, WHO Am I (The Chad Gaines story), Chad was sleeping on the streets in San Francisco while working a full-time job six days a week. But he also knew he had a big edge on most people because he was too crazy to stop. Finally, in 2023, Chadâs book was released which sparked a new chapter in his life.
Hollywood has now begun turning Chadâs life story into a movie called Pocket of Hope and will be released theatrically soon.
Tune in to hear this amazing story of resilience and how Godâs plan for us is always bigger than the mess we find ourselves in.

Mercedes grew up in church and knew of God but didnât have a real connection to God. Early in her life she fell into drugs and alcohol and the distance between her and God grew.
As Mercedes got herself clean and sober, she also found herself growing that relationship with God again. The world around her was weighing her down but her boyfriend, Tristan, and continued prayer eventually created the peace in her life that she had been seeking.
Today, Mercedes has a wonderful child, a healthy relationship with Tristan, and a loving relationship with Christ. She tries to help as many others become clean and sober, and to find their way to God as well. It is her mission to give back to those in need and to live every day as an embodiment of the Word of God. As Mercedes has healed from the guilt and shame of her past, she truly understands that it really is a beautiful life.

Like many mothers, Imke has struggled at times with âmum guilt.â And as many people do, she went looking for answers that would help her understand these emotions and to overcome them.
Since she couldnât find what she was looking for, she did her own research and, along with her own experiences, wrote a book to help not only herself, but other moms as well. The Art of Navigating Mum Guilt is a heartfelt collection of stories and experiences from women who have navigated the emotional challenges of motherhood. This book is like sitting down with a close friend for a comforting and insightful chat, allowing you to feel understood and supported.
Imke and I discuss some of the challenges moms face and some of the chapters she has written about.
Through Imkeâs loving light and caring soul, she is teaching other women how to love themselves and to handle the unique challenges that come at any stage of motherhood and to embrace the journey with compassion and confidence.

Susan was already practicing home schooling (or as she calls it, unschooling) with her other children, so having to teach her autistic child from home was something she had been prepared for.
But Susanâs purpose and passion goes beyond just raising her children. It is to bring awareness to the way society has treated those with autism and that there is real proof that the knowledge and understanding of the autistic person is âin there,â and there are better ways to bring them âout.â

Jennifer became an advocate for the caregivers of people with Alzheimerâs after a personal experience with it when providing care for her mother. She went looking for information and when she couldnât easily find it, she created her own podcasting platform, Fading Memories. This eventually led Jennifer to her role as a legislative advocate and community educator.
Jennifer understands the cost caregiving takes, not only on the families, but also the businesses these folks work for outside of the home as well. Jan grew up in Pittsburg, PA and spent a lot of her childhood sick. The climate of PA did not bode well for her, and she had upper respiratory issues most of her life.
Eventually Jan moved to Arizona, which was better for her physical body, but then she developed chronic migraines. In Arizona Jan was introduced to alternative medicines and techniques including, chiropractic care and acupuncture. For about 10 years she âwrote offâ allopathic medicine and began her journey into a more natural route and eventually into âenergy medicine.â
Jan originally had dreams of becoming a pilot in the military, but her short stature and vision issues prohibited those plans, so instead, she went into teaching. She started at the elementary level but after 10 years, Jan found higher education to be a better fit and taught at the college level for over 25 years.
Jan had a spiritual awakening when she was very young and sought out a deeper connection with God. Through her healing journey, she studied a variety of religions and eventually found herself studying the shamanic healings of the indigenous people of Arizona.
Today, Jan is an author, coach, and public speaker. She often refers to her spiritual practice as being a midwife to the spirit world and she loves helping others go within and transform their lives through mindfulness and meditation.
Tune in for a discussion that may spark a desire, or continuation, of your own transformation and inner healing.
