On a special Thursday episode of the Any Given Runday podcast, we chat with Tom Brady, who is organizing a 5-Mile Charity run and a 5k Fun Run in Ballyagran on Saturday, October 12th. The events will raise awareness for cancer research and funds for the Mid Western Cancer Foundation in memory of his father, John Brady, who passed away in February.

Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge, a gruelling solo row across the Atlantic Ocean. Labeled the World's Toughest Row, Gavan would row up to 19 hours a day along this 5000km trek that took 49 days to finish.
And the 1000-mile Iditarod Trail, which took him over 24 days to complete.
We discuss the logistics, gear, environmental challenges, and mental toughness required for the race, along with the historical context and importance of the Iditarod Trail. Gavan then shares his personal experiences, encounters, and strategies during the race, including facing severe cold and isolation.

Oisin has been the National Board Paddle Champion for the last 16 of 20 years as well as winning Ireland’s first ever European Championship titles, Ireland’s first ever World medal with a bronze in 2016.He also recently set a world record in paddle boarding, covering over 37km on a paddle board in 4 hours across the North Channel. He talks about how he prepared for this challenge, how the training was similar to ultra-marathon prep, how the day and time for the challenge were set and how he felt along the world breaking challenge.

Brandon talks about the highs and lows of competition, representing both Australia at a Junior level and Ireland at U23, becoming a National Champion before it was all cut short due to injury.
Brandon's coaching journey is equally impressive. He shares how he processed his injuries and transitioned to coaching, a role in which he has excelled. His coaching has not only helped his fiancee, Rachael Smyth, start her career but also led her to two AG 70.3 Ironman victories and the overall AG Champion at the Cairns Asia Pacific Ironman Championships.
