Welcome to the episode 6 of Bede & Sam Vs. The Video Nasties.
So far for the podcast, most of the films that your hosts Bede Jermyn & Sam Inglis have tackled from the Section 1 DDP have been films that were released in the '70s and '80s. Which is understandble given that violence, sex and gore had become a bit more extreme during those decades in film. However back in the early '60s, filmmaker Herschell Gordon Lewis (The Wizard Of Gore, Two Thousand Maniacs!) challeneged cinema's approach to onscreen violence with his landmark 1963 indie splatter film Blood Feast.
Joining Bede & Sam to discuss this very bloody influential bit of cinema is first-time guest John Seavey (Half Price Horror). Highlights include how John first became aware of the Video Nasties, the hilarious bad performances from the cast, Bede being amazed how a film this gory came out in 1963, praise the film's low budget charm, wonder if Mal Arnold's performance was inspired by Bela Lugosi and so much more.

Joining Bede & Sam to discuss this infamous film, is first-time special guest Trevor Snyder (Failure To Franchise). Highlights include Trevor explains now he became aware of the Video Nasty controversy, debate whether The Beast In Heat is a truly terrible film, the hilarious dubbing, praise Macha Magall's campy villianess performance, how this film is strangely linked to a film Bede covered on his show Bede Vs. The Living Dead, wonder whether "The Beast should be in a gurning contest and so much more.

Welcome to the introductionary episode 0 of Bede & Sam Vs. The Video Nasties. A podast on the Bede Vs. The Living Dead network, where your hosts Bede Jermyn & Sam Inglis explore all the films that made the U.K. notorious and infamous Video Nasty list.
Well, everyone. After announcing it on Halloween, Bede & Sam Vs. The Video Nasties has finally arrived. Your hosts Bede & Sam are both excitied (and even a little terrified) about diving into the topic of the Video Nasties as it one that both hosts separately wanted to do a podcast on before they decided to team up for this one. Before they release their first official episode, Bede & Sam felt it was important that they dedicate this one by going over the history of the Video Nasties with how it came to be, who organised it, what it meant for film censorship and so much more. If you're unfamiliar with the era, this will both equally fascinate and anger you. That's a guarantee. Sit back, relax and enjoy! Social Media Links:
