Welcome mommas, today we’re going to talk about what you need to know about having a VBACs (Vaginal Birth After Cesarean).
I share my own VBAC journey, offer tips on how to navigate them, and welcome my guest Hannah Gill, a VBAC doula and childbirth educator.
Hannah has a background in the sciences with a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology from Indiana University and a Master of Science in Forensic Biology from Purdue University.
She became interested in birth work after the birth of her son in 2019, when she realized that there is a lack of thorough education and support being provided to families. Because of this, she became a childbirth educator and doula.
Together, we debunk misconceptions about VBACs, explore the importance of a VBAC supportive provider, the role of scar tissue mobilization, and the significance of education in making informed choices.
We also touch upon the physical and emotional aspects of recovery after cesareans and advocate for personalized birth plans.

Pregnancy pain, although common, is not normal!
In this episode of Belly Birth Beyond, I’m addressing the often-dismissed topic of pregnancy pain, the misconception that pregnancy pain is normal, and emphasizing that while it's common, it CAN be managed and you CAN find relief!
Through relatable examples, you'll learn why common advice like taking Tylenol or using a belly band only offers temporary relief.
I dive into the root causes of pregnancy pain, discuss the critical body support required during pregnancy, and significance of using the right movements to find pain relief.
I also cover postpartum challenges and underscore the importance of maternal health, postpartum support, and wellbeing beyond just caring for the baby.
“ Pain relief exists, and it's not far from you. If you truly want to change how you feel during your pregnancy, I am here for you. You can do it. You, you just need a little guidance to know what to do, finding the right movement.” - Becca

Hi momma, welcome to Belly Birth Beyond’s pilot episode! I’m your host, Becca Boeving, aka Pelvic Floor Momma, and today I’m sharing with you my personal journey through pregnancy and birth during the COVID-19 pandemic, including a traumatic first birth and the journey to my successful VBAC experience with my second.
I also share how Pelvic Floor Momma started, with my passion for helping and educating moms on the power of their pelvic floor, helping them find relief, overcome pregnancy pain, and advocate for themselves.
The problem is, we aren't taking moms seriously in helping them find relief. Dismissing you and telling you, “You're going to have more pain with your second pregnancy or your third or your fourth”... just because it's “how it is” is unacceptable.
Because that's really not how it is!
You're having more pain because the pain, the problem, the cause, was never actually addressed during the first pregnancy or the second pregnancy when it actually started.
So instead of trying to repair what feels broken, we could work on preventing and feeling like we can actually advocate for ourselves and share and tell what we need and how to do that.
So that is the birth of pelvic floor momma. That is what we are doing here. And this podcast will be all about belly birth and beyond!
So your pregnancy, your birth, your postpartum, and beyond that, we're going to dive into all of the myths and misconceptions that you may think you know, about your body that you don't, and all the ways that you can change how you feel.
