The opening leg of the 2024 World Aquatics Open Water World Cup in Soma Bay delivered everything we love about open water swimmingâdominance, drama, and disqualifications. With 19°C water, relentless wind, and high salinity, conditions were brutal, and only the toughest survived.
This week, Alice Dearing joins the podcast as we break down every key moment from the Menâs, Womenâs, and Relay races, analyzing who made a statement and whoâs got work to do before Worlds.
đ„ In This Episode:
đ Menâs 10km: Florian Wellbrock in a league of his own, while chaos erupts behind him. Five disqualifications, a wild Money Lap, and some unexpected names in the top 10.
đ Womenâs 10km: Moesha Johnson dominates, Ana Marcela Cunha misses the move, and Ginevra Taddeucci proves sheâs the real deal.
đ Mixed Relay: Germany & Australia set the standardâbut who else looks dangerous for Worlds?
đź Whatâs Next? Ibiza, Worlds, and the road to Parisâwhat these results tell us about the year ahead.đ§ Listen now and join the conversation! What surprised you most in Soma Bay? Whoâs looking unbeatable, and who has work to do? Drop us a message and let us know your take!
