THANK YOU FOR TWO YEARS AND A HUNDRED EPISODES!
So hard to believe that it's been this long since we first uploaded The Bad, Bad Summer. Thank you guys for sticking with us! To celebrate, it's time to take a look at some divisive trash again. The Venom films have garnered a "so bad it's good" cult following over the years, due in large part to Eddie and the symbiote's dynamic and the weird, off-the-wall style of comedy. But with the new installment touting the end of their journey, have they been able to reach beyond that, or have the foundations crumbled beneath them? Tune in to find out as Brian, Alec, and special guest Trey (@HeyGuysItSpidey) celebrate 100 episodes of Boulder Punch by diving into a spoiler-filled discussion of VENOM: THE LAST DANCE!

EDDIE BROCK. THE MAN OF A THOUSAND SECOND CHANCES. THE COMEBACK KING.
With The Last Dance less than a week away, and seemingly adapting several aspects from it, the boys figured it was high time to delve into Eddie Brock's best comic run. When the book started in 2018, not many people knew what to expect, but what transpired over the next three years would define the character and the symbiotes forever. So, tune in as Alec and Brian look back at one of their favorite runs of all time -- VENOM by Donny Cates and Ryan Stegman!

PLEASE CLAP.
After five years and a two-year-long production, the sequel to the divisive, yet massively successful Joker has hit the silver screen... and it has been an absolute disaster. A box office failure tanking with both critics and audiences, Todd Phillips' weird musical-deconstruction-thingamabob is considered to be one of the worst comic book films in a while. Both fans and haters of the first movie have walked away dissatisfied, but how do two of the biggest campers in the latter feel? Tune in to find out as Brian and a sleep-deprived Alec (who devolves into saying random words at times) dive into one of the most bizarre and mean-spirited comic book films in a while -- JOKER: FOLIE À DEUX!

MAKE THE ART YOU WANT TO MAKE!
Another week, another round of news. Some fun, most worrying, and some absolutely dire for the state of storytelling in bigger projects, IPs, and so on. Let's talk about it. Come join Alec and Brian as they discuss recent rumblings such as an unexpected King in Black adaptation, the Avatar: The Last Airbender game, and Hollywood's latest terrible decisions when it comes to dealing with and placating online bigots!

TRAILERS, TRAILERS, AND MORE TRAILERS!
It's been a few weeks since we've talked news. There's been a few trailers. Y'all know the drill. Tune in as Alec and Brian dive into the notable news of the past two weeks, including trailers for DEVIL MAY CRY, THUNDERBOLTS, BALLERINA, THE LAST OF US Season 2, and the reveal of GHOST OF YŌTEI!

"I'M DONE SAVING YOU."
Despite its origins lying in the medium, there was only ever one Transformers animated movie, and it was made nearly forty years ago. After many years of more-bad-than-good live action films, Paramount and Hasbro finally announced in 2023 that the Autobots and Decepticons would return to the realm of big-screen animation - this time, in a completely new origin story about how Optimus and Megatron went from best friends to sworn enemies. So, after all this time, did they stick the landing? Tune in to find out as Brian and Alec dive into their rambling spoiler-filled thoughts on TRANSFORMERS ONE!

"I DO SEE A WAY. THERE IS A NARROW WAY THROUGH."
Despite us expecting a much shorter episode due to the smaller amount of news, the density of the topics of discussion today are far greater than we imagined. From Spider-Man 4 finally receiving a director, to concerning directions for it in light of rumors and the new trailer for Venom: The Last Dance, and PlayStation's new upgraded console being the laughingstock of the internet -- Sony's had a lot of eyes on it this week, positive and negative. So, tune in as Alec and Brian delve into it all, doompost about the state of things, and try to guess what the plan could truly be amongst the scattered concepts!

"I DON'T NEED A GUITAR... I AM A ROCKSTAR!"
Back in 2023, Xbox and Bethesda shadowdropped a game from Tango Gameworks that they were more than likely certain would fail. Instead, it became an overnight sensation, making its way to other consoles, and surviving a baffling and frustrating shutdown -- along with its studio. To celebrate the revival of Tango and their instant-hit, we figured it was high (fi) time to go all in on what we loved about it, and what we hope to see in the thankfully-still-happening sequel. So, tune in as Alec and Brian discuss one of the most acclaimed games in recent years that managed to rise from the ashes of Xbox's fumbling -- HI-FI RUSH!

NEW BOULDER PITCH COMING IN HOT!
After the Comic Con panel that can be charitably described as divisive, many fans are worrying about the direction the MCU is heading in as the Multiverse Saga reaches its crescendo, and for good reason. The boys are amongst that crowd, and they figured it was high time to make a follow-up to their Phase 4 pitches. So, tune in as Brian and Alec go in-depth on their own outlines and synopses for how they'd approach the MCU's Phase 5!

"I KNOW WE'LL MEET AGAIN SOME SUNNY DAY..."
After the monumental finale of Season One, fans of the Pines family's shenanigans were left hanging for a full calendar year before Season Two finally started in 2014. What many were unaware of, however, was that it would not only take nearly two years for all the episodes to release, but that this would also be the show's final season. Season Two of Alex Hirsch's semi-kinda-sorta-autobiographical summer tale is a rollercoaster of mystery, scares, adventure, and overwhelming love, and it's time for us to go all-in. So, come join Alec and Brian as they bid farewell (for now) to one of their favorite shows of all time as they dive into Season Two of GRAVITY FALLS!
-
"BUT HER AIM IS GETTING BETTER!"
With The Book of Bill and its ARG site sparking a resurgence of a show thought to be long gone, we figured it was high time to lace up our boots, head out into the woods, and find what mystery and weirdness await us. Born from the mind and childhood of Alex Hirsch, Gravity Falls is widely considered to be one of the greatest cartoons of all time, at the very least of the last twenty-five years. So, as two big fans who grew up with it look back on it, does that still ring true? Tune in to find out as Alec and Brian return to the forests of Oregon and dive into Season One of GRAVITY FALLS!

"WOOIMBOUTTAMAKEANAMEFORMYSELFERE!"
After six long years, the Merc with the Mouth has finally returned to the big screen -- and this time, he's not alone. Wade and Logan's big buddy-comedy roadtrip has been the subject of debate since it was announced nearly two years ago, and the discourse has only heated up with every update leading to its release. Many people bat for it while accusing people of switching up, while others believe this is the mark of the beast on the art form of filmmaking. But is the movie really that extreme one way or the other? Tune in to find out as Alec and Brian dive into recent news and the newest summer slop to hit the theaters -- DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE!

VICTOR VON DOOM USED TO EAT CHEESEBURGERS.
Another year, another Comic-Con down the hatch! After last year's convention was downscaled due to studios insisting on not paying actors and writers, this year's SDCC promised to be even bigger. Between so many major panels, announcements, and showcases, how could anything go wrong? It's not like that RDJ Dr. Doom rumor we joked about two weeks ago would actually come true right? Tune in as Alec and Brian face the music of San Diego Comic-Con 2024, discuss exciting reveals like My Adventures with Superman Season 3 and the Fantastic Four: First Steps trailer, and dive into the announcement that broke the internet in all the ways it didn't intend -- Robert Downey Jr.'s casting as Doctor Doom!

"YOU WILL COMPLY (AND LISTEN)..."
After the amazing first season last summer, the boys were beyond excited to see what was in store for Adult Swim's (now Toonami's) amazing new takes on Clark, Lois, and Jimmy in Season 2. Between mysteries surrounding Krypton, Amanda Waller and Task Force X, Brainiac, Kara Zor-El, and relationship drama, this new season delivered on absolutely everything we were hoping for and then some. How? Tune in to find out as Alec and Brian dive in and discuss the amazing second season of MY ADVENTURES WITH SUPERMAN -- as well as what they hope to see in the future!

BABY'S FIRST YANDERE
Over eighty episodes in, we have never done an episode centering around a certain anime or manga. That changes today, for better and for worse (mostly for worse). One show that Alec watched in his youth was a popular horror-action series called The Future Diary (AKA Mirai Nikki), and upon revisiting it with a friend a couple years ago, he realized just how terrible it was... and how Brian needed to watch it one day so they could make a podcast episode about it. Today is that day. Pray for them (mostly Brian). Tune in as the boys, alongside special guest Trey (@HeyGuysItSpidey), dive into the tasteless shock and baffling storytelling of one of the most popular and divisive anime of the early 2010's -- THE FUTURE DIARY (MIRAI NIKKI)!

THE LAST TIME IS NOW!
Since we've missed out on the past couple weeks, we figured it was high time for another news episode, and we certainly have a lot to talk about. Between more Superman set photos and theories, a new look at the Dead Rising remaster/make, Absolute Comics gearing up for a full reveal, and the legendary John Cena announcing his retirement from WWE, we have a lot to cover, so tune in as Alec and Brian dive into all of it and more!

WELCOME TO GAME NIGHT!
It was the week of the Fourth of July. The boys needed an episode for the week and did not have enough time to find a topic of discussion. Brian had a suggestion. A test of will. Of strength. Of weakness. Of pride. Of humility. Of what you would do for one million dollars. Tune in as Brian and Alec have their first game night of the show with a game of Rooster Teeth's "Million Dollars, But..."!

"I THOUGHT THAT WAS NON-DIEGETIC."
After the divisive 60th Anniversary Specials from last fall, Doctor Who had a clean slate with Ncuti Gatwa as the Fifteenth Doctor, an iteration that fans immediately latched onto in his first apearanced in The Giggle and The Church on Ruby Road. Hopes were high for his first full (yet short) season, although there were plenty of doubts going in. Could Russell T Davies come back swinging with something wholly fresh, new, and exciting? Or would it be more of the same? The answer, as you'd guess, is far more complicated than either, and we're not keeping the lock on this mystery box any longer. So, tune in as Alec and Brian look back and discuss the highs, the lows, and everything between of Ncuti Gatwa's first season of Doctor Who!

"ISN'T IT OBVIOUS? YOU'RE SPIDER-MAN."
One of the hottest books on the shelves right now, so much so that it's outsold its 616 counterpart, is none other than Hickman and Checchetto's Ultimate Spider-Man. This fresh new take on Peter Parker's story has brought in an enormous amount of readers, both new and old, and it definitely doesn't seem to be losing any steam going forward. We touched on it a bit back in January when its first issue dropped, but now that the first "arc" has wrapped up in the first six issues, how exactly is this book shaping up -- and is there anything that could be improved on? Tune in to find out as Brian and Alec jump back into the new Ultimate Universe to analyze, discuss, and theorize about Jonathan Hickman and Marco Checchetto's Ultimate Spider-Man!

MAYBE NOT EVERYTHING HAS TO BE ACCURATE...
With Season 4 finally out, and with Season 5 confirmed to be the end of the show, the boys (not THOSE boys) decided it was high time to look back on the first three seasons that started it all. When people heard Amazon was adapting Garth Ennis's poor-taste satire of superhero comics, many were perplexed and doubtful. The original book was so mean-spirited and callous on its own, how could that translate to a successful TV series? The answer is a LOT of reworking, retooling, and a whopping plate of gumption. The show's been a massive success to mostly widespread acclaim, but over the years, people have critiqued it for running out of steam and going in circles. Is that truly the case? Tune in to find out as Alec and Brian look back at the first three seasons of one of Jeff Bezos' two shows about how Superman is the real bad guy seriously don't trust him -- The Boys!
