Part 2 of my discussion on the Civil War, with a focus on the movie. Listen to part 1 first. In this discussion, I go into the great decisions that were made in the new movie. I talk about what I think this movie really says about journalists, and what it would take to really sustain a Civil War.
Both parts 1 and 2 are in a single video that was live streamed on YouTube.

I saw the Civil War movie, and wanted to talk about everyone's favorite wet dream. How close we are to starting another Civil War. Find out why things aren't as bleak as you might hope. In this first part, I talk about the events and state of mind that led to the first Civil War.
This is part of an accidental two part series, because I accidentally stopped the recording in the middle. Just listen to the next one.
Both parts 1 and 2 are in a single video that was live streamed on YouTube.

This is a rambling affair. You see, I was talking with this guy about midlife crisises. And then I saw this meme about The Matrix. And then I hit record, and this podcast is the result. Is life an illusion. What is real? If you could know what is real, would you? Let's find out the lessons of life, now that it's half over.

I take a bunch of detours through my first listen through of the first half of the new Blin 182 album. Hear what makes them great. Hear examples of their greatness from other albums. And find out which songs are bangers according to Hella Meh. At least on the first half of the album.

I analyze a song I love, a song I like, and a song I hate. What they all have in common is they create a vibe. They are simple, effective, and take you to an emotional place. I explore what this means, how I might write my own song with a vibe, and geek out a little with the guitar. And cuss.

For mature audiences only. We discuss the most terrifying year of every Gen X'ers life - 1999. Anticipation of all the ways every computer could ruin society. And then we explore The Stranger.
"The stranger could be 1 of the more well-known masturbatory techniques out there, but that doesn't mean every single man has listened to of it - or perfected it."
Even more compelling is the Reverse Stranger. You will just have to listen to find out.

I announce the new name of the podcast, which is coming soon. And when that is done. I talk about the movies. So many people want to tell you which movies are good or bad. How about Indiana Jones or the Sound of Freedom. They are either the best movies ever, or literally Hitler. In this podcast I dig into the mechanics of good story telling, so you can do some next-level analysis of stories and give yourself permission to have your own opinion.
And when that is done, I talk about morality questions that involve doing questionable things with deceased animals. If you have to miss a podcast, this is certainly one of them.
And yes, I already bought the URL for the new Podcast name, so don't screw around.

Trigger Warning - You might be a front butt! Nick and all star panel explore when religion and politics are at their best, and when they go wrong. If you are looking to have your beliefs affirmed, go somewhere else. We are trodding on dangerous territory, with no fudges given.
With special guest Alofa and Paris.

Nick does just the right amount of fan-boy-ing on the latest jazz/fusion/crunk/horn/enema music sensation. Have you wondered what makes Clown Core so great, but were too stupid to figure it out for yourself? The wait is over. Listen and be blessed. If you don't like it, I'll give you double your money back.

I was 10 years old, watching live on television in school. The first teacher in space was onboard. The launch was hyped for months. Within 2 minutes of launch, my teacher had the TV off and was trying to get us to talk about something else. Anything else.
Hear the story of what goes wrong when the engineers get overruled by the suits.
And hear about my new favorite tea.

Miljenko Matijevic is the best rock singer, and you haven't even heard of him. Hear about the extreme bad luck that hampered his career, and his his angelic voice as it pierces the stratosphere, and your mother.
I also talk about Marky Mark and his celebrity older brother. Unfortunately, I don't talk about politics or religion or John Stamos at any time.

Paris told me a saying that's taking me some time to wrap my arms around. I need your help to make sense of the world. I also talk about the problem we all share about being too good looking for our own good. I have some serious life hacks here, so tune in.
-
I'm about to rename the podcast. So be prepared for the new name "I Accept For Value In Return". In this episode, I talk about the problems I have with being in the moment. Video taping events, or commenting on stuff. Hopefully there is a life hack in here worth your time.

He's going to be your Frankenstein. Doodely... I don't know. Stuff.

I went to Gettysburg and communed with the ghosts of the Civil War. And Darell Brooks was sentenced today. I spent a lot of time listening to the trial at least 30 hours of testimony. And today was the end. I play a couple clips and work through my emotions as I say good bye to this monster.

Jordan Peterson describes the way humans evolved to correct each other when we are wrong. This is how diversity from the outside makes us better inside. But Social Media silences all the mechanisms humans evolved to regulate sanity through diversity. The ultimate irony is how important we claim diversity to be, as we live our lives where the pain of being wrong is not tolerated. The pain of answering to our peers is not tolerated.
Also Darell Brooks is a piece of work.

I talk about why I chose not to go with Paypal for my new business. It gets kinda political, but you can handle it. I also talk about the trial of the Murdering, Woman Beating, Registered Sex Offender Darrell Brooks. He is most famously known for driving a minivan through a parade last year, killing 8. Hear 3 minutes of trial highlights and my astute analysis.

I follow up on the thread from last podcast. The musical is called Rock of Ages. The way they treat my beloved 80's songs literally stabs me in the back. Listen to examples as I compare the musical version to the originals, and explain why the originals work. I am the ultimate hair metal nerd. If you want to know what makes ridiculous songs work, this is your podcast. If you want to know why moving rock songs to the theater stage literally sucks my balls, this is your podcast.

The band is back together. What makes a Blink 182 song work? I'll share the secret. And there's that play coming up I don't want to see. Oh yeah, and what will you do next week when the nuclear bombs start poppin? All this and more in today's delectable episode!

What happens when a wholesome NFL game gets sullied by a bare breast in a presidential election year? Everyone loses their minds. People fight each other to show who is the most offended by breasts. And the FCC rides in on a white horse and saves humanity. Every presidential election year brings us something for us to be saved from. In 2004, it was the mammary.
