General Motors will join Formula 1 under its Cadillac brand. The so-called Cadillac F1 entry marks the first time a GM team will compete in F1 and is timed with the luxury badge’s international recasting as an electric automaker. GM will build its own powertrain for the series when its rules require a 50-50 gas-electric hybrid engine for 2028. Until that power unit is ready, Cadillac F1 will use a Ferrari engine. 2 min.
