We're baaaaack. Thanks for your patience during our little hiatus. Cameron was busy with his classes and Rachael had a BABY. Listen as Rachael and Cameron catch up with what's been going on in their lives, talk about the election and dive into project 2025...
What is Project 2025, and why is it sparking controversy? In this episode, we critically examine the conservative movement’s bold plan to reshape America’s future. Project 2025 outlines a sweeping agenda to transform federal government policies, dismantle regulations, and enforce conservative ideals across social, economic, and political spheres. Critics warn it could undermine democratic institutions, erode civil liberties, and deepen societal divides. We unpack the key components of this ambitious plan, explore its potential consequences, and ask the pressing question: Is Project 2025 a roadmap to reform—or a blueprint for disaster?

What exactly is it? Does it go unnoticed in church communities? Lets talk about it on todays episode!

TW: Mentions of rape and sexual assault
This is the last of our purity culture series. For this last episode we had an amazing conversation with Mattie Jo Cowsert. Before terms like “deconstruction” “purity culture” or “Exvangelical'' became hashtags all over the internet, Mattie Jo’ popular blog God, Sex & Rich People exposed the sometimes painful, sometimes hilarious realities of a young female Exvangelical navigating the diversity of Big Apple, working for the 1%, and dating in a city that never sleeps (and never stops sleeping around). This is her story.
Mattie Jo's book will be available September 10th, 2024 on Amazon.

This is one of the few episodes we will be releasing over the next few weeks regarding purity culture. If you've been listening to us for a while, you know purity culture is something that often comes up in our episodes and I wanted to do a mini-series focusing on it. Here to discuss their own journey with purity culture, we have Canadian queer alt-pop artist Adaline, who just released a purity culture inspired single "True Love Waits", the third single from upcoming EP "Hymnal" (out March 22), that follows her journey of reconciling queerness and the harmful religious narratives she experienced growing up as the daughter of an evangelical minister.
