https://cirquequirk.com/
https://allenbyart.com/On this episode of the Circuspreneur podcast, host Shenea Stiletto interviews author of The Cycle of Kindness & founder of San Diego based entertainment company Cirque Quirk, Nathaniel Allenby.
The Cycle of Kindness -
This authentic, amazing and true story tells unbelievable tales about the capacity of the human will. This candid portrayal of Nathaniel Allenby (Fight to Survive, Cirque Quirk, Allenby Art), aided by journal entries, regales readers with larger-than-life factual accounts of sneaking into castles, jumping off an 87-foot cliff, learning to dumpster dive to acquire food, being robbed in London, protesting at the Camp for Climate Action, and pedaling across Germany without maps, over the Pyrenees mountains on the Mediterranean, through freezing cold with numb hands; doing the seemingly impossible.
Living on less than eight-hundred-dollars in a year, by the kindness of strangers, Nathaniel’s travel adventure autobiography is about life on a bicycle, that lasted for 6 years, pedaling 28,000 miles across 10 countries and 30 states. It has been called: “a cross between Into the Wild, and Eat, Pray, Love”. What started out as an incredible journey of self-discovery, turns out to be the revelation that there is a great big world full of incredibly kind people. This is their story as much as it is his.
In 2006, two 20-year-old best friends began traversing unfamiliar lands, without speaking local languages. This cathartic journey started with a highly successful yet disillusioned Nathaniel dropping out of a fast-track prestigious International Government program at a top liberal arts school. Unfulfilled with winning an international video game tournament, and not sure what to do next, he felt aimless with his life’s direction; when his closest friend Dan offered him a one-way ticket to Europe, and a bicycle upon arrival, and a blank slate as to where to go and what to do next. Little did Nathaniel realize that this was just the beginning of one of life’s great adventure stories.
The characters are riveting and captivating, with stories so truthfully told that readers are bewildered that someone could survive through all of the occurrences. A beautiful story of friendship, altruism and the indomitable human spirit, The Cycle of Kindness is rife with all the ingredients that makeup a best seller. The manuscript includes sex, drug experimentation, drive and determination, overcoming adversity, spiritual experiences, personal growth, and love. The tales make this book difficult to put down, and will leave readers wanting more of this phenomenal life story.
