Cynthia Nekesa will be sharing her climate story as a climate and energy educator.
Cynthia Nekesa is a climate and energy educator. The global challenges close to her heart are climate change and education and she merges them to create social impact in her community.
Cynthia has actively been engaged in initiatives such as the Student Energy Fellowship, FXB Climate Advocate, and YALI(Young African Leaders Initiative), among other organizations. She has mentored students, reviewed projects, and volunteered for causes such as girl education, STEM enrichment programs, environmental conservation, and community development. She aims to create even more impact through her circular economy venture called Revitalize-Waste Solutions and social venture called innoyoungins. Her dedication to sustainability has seen her win the UNGAA Green Ambassador Award and selection to the prestigious beVisioneer program-The Mercedes-Benz Fellowship. She also got selected in the competitive YALI/RLCs Design Challenge.
On the side, she has a keen interest in civic leadership especially youth engagement. She has been a delegate in various forums and summits to represent the youth voices while also contributing to the UN’s Secretary general’s reports through consultations and youth dialogues to foster youth inclusion in the SDG agenda. She is a member of the European Business Chamber of Rwanda, YOUNGO(Just Transition Working Group), GWNET(Global Women's Network for the Energy Transition), Teach Climate Network, and UN Major Group for Children and Youth.

Stephen Udachinojo Omatule is a dedicated climate advocate and activist from Nigeria, with a deep commitment to driving environmental justice and sustainable development. His journey began in his flood-affected village, where firsthand exposure to the impacts of climate change ignited his passion. As the Executive Director of Sir-Steve Humanitarian Initiative and the National Coordinator for Open Dialogue Climate Change Nigeria, Stephen has spearheaded various climate projects, including the "Ibaji LGA Wetlands Restoration Project", which has benefited over 3,000 local residents by improving flood resilience and enhancing biodiversity.
Stephen’s work is backed by global recognition. As a member of the FXB Climate Actors of Harvard University USA and one of the few Africans selected from over 1,500 applicants to lead the "Wetlands Restoration Project", his contributions extend internationally. His leadership as the *Chairman of the Climate Actors Acceleration Program Electoral Committee for UN SDSN Nigeria showcases his active involvement at both national and global levels.
With his data-driven approach, Stephen has increased climate awareness by 60% in the communities he works with and successfully engaged over 500 youths and women in climate leadership programs. His relentless pursuit of climate justice continues to inspire others across Nigeria and beyond.

Rifkatu Joseph Odeyemi, a passionate advocate for environmental sustainability, I am dedicated to driving positive change and raising awareness about the urgent need to address climate change.
With a degree in Microbiology from the University of Jos, in Nigeria and a strong foundation in scientific research, I founded LOUD Climate Action, an advocacy non-profit, committed to amplifying the need for climate action and sustainable practices and Climate Education among Secondary School Students in Nigeria.
With excellent leadership and communication skills, I have led LOUD Climate Action in organizing impactful initiatives to raise awareness, promote sustainable practices, and mobilize collective action. Through strategic communication, community outreach, and collaborative partnerships, we have worked to inspire change and advocate for policies that prioritize environmental protection and climate resilience.
As a graduate of microbiology, I bring a unique perspective to environmental advocacy, leveraging my scientific background to inform evidence-based solutions and foster dialogue between stakeholders. I am committed to leveraging my skills and expertise to make a meaningful difference in addressing the climate crisis and creating a more sustainable future for all.
