On this episode of CRESCENDO, we interview Susan Kramer, an accomplished nonprofit development expert. We talk about overcoming fears, finding and amplifying one's authentic voice, and the importance of relationships and mentoring in building a successful entrepreneurial journey.
â
Susan has served as Chief Development Officer at Allied Jewish Federation of Colorado, where she implemented an annual campaign producing $13M from 6.2K donors. She spent time as CEO at the Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas where she laid the groundwork for an entirely new fundraising approach geared to 21st century donors and built a Womenâs philanthropy center from the ground up. She also served as the Director of External Relationships for Momentum, where she increased overall donation dollars $1.4M, led dozens of large-scale events in major cities, and facilitated a major initiative to ensure organizational compliance.
In addition to her executive leadership, sheâs personally raised millions in gifts, launched a philanthropy education platform that empowers families to develop a giving strategy, and served on The Opus Prize jury that determined the recipient of a $1M grant. Her well-known talent for mentoring young adults also resulted in her reconnection with Regis University as an adjunct professor in the Master of Non-Profit Development program.
Susan offers a teachable platform that prepares executives, boards, teams, and individuals to shift into a new paradigm of nonprofit development. This new model is proven to reinvigorate passion, engage stakeholders at every level, and catalyze a new relationship-based approach to donor development. Through educational programming, executive guidance, and on-the-ground support she partners with organizations to overcome common stumbling blocks, strengthen teams, and tap into new sources of funding.
Susan Kramer holds a Masters in Non-Profit Management from Regis University, a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, and is a certified Competent Toastmaster.

On this episode of CRESCENDO, we interview Ruth Rubin, a high school dropout turned successful entrepreneur. Together, they delve into Ruth's inspiring journey from manual labor to founding a global HR company. Ruth shares invaluable insights on resilience, finding one's unique value in business, and balancing multiple roles as a mother and mentor. The conversation emphasizes the importance of authenticity, self-belief, and perseverance for female entrepreneurs.
â
Ruth Rubin dropped out of school at the age of 15 to work in cleaning and manual jobs. At 26 years old, she founded and ran for over 17 years a large successful staffing company in the UK. Her company later spun off a global HR tech company which was successfully sold in 2021. Ruth is now an exited entrepreneur dividing her time between mothering her four children, angel investing into aspiring founders, consulting to corporations on their people and culture, and building the largest pre-seed accelerator in Israel. Ruthâs talent is that she can spot potential in even the darkest hidden corners of a person and help them correctly appraise their true value. She uses this superpower when coaching and mentoring her clients to create mini revolutions in helping them truly and correctly value themselves based on objective facts over mere positive thinking. Ruth holds a master's degree in Philosophy with a special interest in business ethics.
