🌟 In this episode, I'm sharing 39 things that you might not know about me. Why 39? Because I'm turning 39 this month!
It's not a regular episode. It's a raw, real, and unfiltered peek into who I am – from family dynamics to mental health struggles, personal growth, relationships, and everything in between. 🌿✨
I talk about growing up influenced by '90s purity culture, early marriage, motherhood, and the work I've done on self-discovery, including being diagnosed with ADHD at 34.
This episode is not about platitudes or sugar-coating life – it's about being real with you. Coaches are regular people too. I hope you'll find a sense of solidarity, reflect on your own journey, and feel more compassionate toward all parts of you. 🌈🌻
This episode is a reminder that every decision – big or small – shapes our narratives. It's a heartfelt invitation to explore the intricacies of our stories, celebrate resilience, and find beauty in the messy, unfiltered tapestry of life. 🌸

In the this episode, I discuss a topic that's close to my heart - making peace with our past and allowing ourselves to move forward without feeling stuck. I share a story about one of my clients who's been struggling with shame and the belief that she needs to change her feelings about her past to move forward.
Key takeaways from the episode:
- Stop using coaching or therapy against yourself: Sometimes we get stuck in trying to change our thoughts or feelings, leading to a constant struggle. It's okay to accept our genuine feelings and beliefs and find a new way forward.
- Embrace your current reality: Instead of fighting against your thoughts and emotions, consider how you can move forward while acknowledging and accepting them.
- Focus on who you are becoming: It's essential to redirect your energy towards the person you are becoming and how you want to show up in the world, rather than getting caught up in changing unchangeable aspects of yourself.

In this episode, I'm sharing the way I started thinking about decisions differently, and how this has become THE most important thing in my life, and in the work I do. I'll also clarify what a "decision" really includes, so that you can start making some for yourself.

When you're avoiding an outcome because it feels too tough to handle, it clouds your thinking and decision-making.
You end up reacting to your fear, instead of responding to the situation in ways that best align with your values, your intentions, and the person you want to be.
Anything we set out to do or achieve comes with inherent risk of experiencing things that can be shitty - and therefore, they also ask us to be WILLING to experience those things if we truly want to go after what we want.
So, are you willing to experience some shitty stuff? Let's talk more about what I mean, and what this can look like. I'll use my own personal life as an example.
✨Want to change some of your own responses to things? Want to do things differently? Then let's explore working together.✨

Full disclosure: this episode was prompted by an algorithmic gift on the 'Gram - a post titled "The Scam of Millennial Motivational Coaches." Not only was I offended by the mention of my generational label (millennials are AMAZING, ok??), but I had so many issues with the points being made throughout the post that I decided I needed to record an episode.
Listen as I walk you through these common coaching criticisms, and offer my own thoughts and a different perspective. This is a nuanced discussion, and my hope is simply that you have more information to help you decide who you want to work with when looking for a coaching (or therapy) practitioner.
