  • This week, Ang is here with a special Valentine's Day episode. Valentine's can be a hard time of year, especially if you’ve just been through a divorce or even if you’ve been on your own for some time. Traditions and expectations associated with the day can make us feel like we’re not good enough if we do indeed spend it alone. However, fear not, Ang is here to reframe Valentine’s Day for all those powerhouse single parents out there. In this episode, Ang breaks down how you can change your Valentine’s Day into a day where you celebrate the love you have for yourself and give yourself the best Valentine’s Day you have ever had.

    KEY TAKEAWAYS

Ang’s first Valentine’s Day after her divorce started out as a very difficult day. But, a moment of realisation helped her change the narrative and have her best Valentine’s to date. She details her experience so that you can learn from it. Ang’s first tip for making Valentine’s Day a day to remember is to look back on how far you’ve come already and to find the positives. And, even if you don’t see them straight away, Ang reveals, they do exist. Valentine’s Day can act as a spotlight that shines on what you are missing and not what you have. But, Ang reminds you that being alone is not the same as loneliness and being by yourself can very well be an opportunity to grow. What if you reframed Valentine’s Day to celebrate the love you have for yourself? Ang lays out how this can work and how it will make you feel.

    BEST MOMENTS

“It can take a lot of strength to pull yourself up when you’re in a difficult place, but doing so can be the most rewarding and healing thing you can do.”

“Affirmations can feel foreign after a difficult relationship, but they can make such a positive difference in your life.”

“If you don’t love yourself, now is a great time to start because we can’t expect anyone to love us if we don’t love ourselves.”

    ABOUT THE PODCAST

    Do I Really Hate Men?

Interesting question and one I have asked myself many times. This is not an ‘I hate men’ podcast neither is it just an account of my divorce and the many awful events leading up to and during it. This podcast is a safe space to delve into what happens when relationships end, it provides guidance on how to carry on being a functioning adult and/or Single Mum when you feel broken inside.

This podcast provides hope sprinkled with humour, at times its emotional at times inspiring and at times sad. I have a message to share with women around the world, come join me and your global sisters for a weekly dose of Superhero Mum inspiration and stories.

My mission -to help women and mothers globally to recover from relationship pain,  lead meaningful happy lives and inspire their children to succeed.

NOTE – I need you to know that I don’t hate men! It’s important that you know there are many great men out there. Many fantastic fathers and single fathers trying hard to do a great job. I know little about the struggles of single fathers; however, I presume they are numerous common issues we share with these amazing men who strive to do the right thing by their children.

As she grew older, she began to realise how special their relationship was, which, as she tells Ang, led her to accepting that her marriage was over.  As Lisa was going through her divorce she reconnected with an old friend. When they found themselves falling in love, they realised they had to do things right. She shares with Ang how this relationship was approached with all that she had learned.

  • This week Ang is going back to the beginning and looking at how to navigate the early days of separation. It is a time when you are bombarded with emotions, which can affect your behaviour in so many ways. In this episode, Ang gives her advice on how best to manage your emotions, look after yourself, and your children, so that the pain and discomfort of a separation can be somewhat managed and put you on the road to a happier, healthier future.

If you have children, then the conversation you have with them about your separation will be a difficult one. Ang gives her advice, born from experience, on how best to approach this conversion with them. Once your children learn of the separation they will be overcome with emotion, just as you were. Ang discusses how best to guide them through this period.  One thing that is often overlooked when going through a separation is yourself. Ang stresses the importance of being kind to yourself and accepting what is happening.

“The moment you realise your relationship is ending it can bring about so many confusing and overwhelming emotions.”

“Whatever you are feeling, know that your feelings are valid.”

  • As you may have noticed over the past few weeks, Ang has been partnering with a new app “TalkingParents.”, which aims to help separated parents communicate and co-parent with ease. This week on the show, Ang is delighted to be joined by its creator and founder Stephen Nixon. In this interview, Stephen explains how a family law case he was involved in made him realise that there was a practical solution to a universal problem faced by separated parents all over the world and, how his solution, ‘The TalkingParents App’, can lead to a healthy, court free relationship with your ex.

    KEY TAKEAWAYS

    ● When Stephen’s brother left the law firm that they had established together, Stephen found himself thrust into the world of family law. He explains how his experience on a particular case inspired him to launch the TalkingParents app.

    ● Whilst some relationships between parents can turn sour after a divorce, some do stay civil and, these people, do not see the need to record their communication. But, as Stephen explains, TalkingParents can be an effective tool, regardless of the relationship with your ex.

    ● One of the features on the TalkingParents app is the ‘shared calendar.’ Stephen explains how this is different to a regular calendar and how it enables both parties to have a comprehensive, up to date understanding of what they have agreed to.

    ● With a lot of parenting apps on the market these days it takes something special to stand out. Stephen details how TalkingParents, with its wide range of unique features, makes it a leader in the field.

    BEST MOMENTS

“Even if your children don’t see the arguments they are still feeding off your emotions and that will negatively affect them.”

“It’s amazing how much time is wasted in court with things that could have been resolved sooner.”

“A lot of people that go to family court end up going back several times. Good communication can help prevent this, and the scaling costs.”

  • Welcome to the second part of Ang’s two part special on Christmas. There are so many traditions around Christmas and New Year and we always feel like we have to adhere to them to please others or because ‘that’s what Christmas should be’. However, in this episode Ang proposes a new way to approach Christmas and New Year. From doing away with New Year's resolutions to being selfish over the holidays, Ang is giving you the tools to start some new Christmas traditions and to make 2025 the best year yet.

You can’t control what other people do but, you can control how you respond. Ang talks about the concept of ‘Just Let Them’ and how it can help you cope with negative behaviours from others so that they don’t spoil this special time of year.

Everyone makes a New Year's resolution, but how many of us really stick to them? Ang proposes an alternative “A Last Year Funeral”. She explains this concept, of letting go of the negativity in your life, and how it can make your new year the best yet.

Ang shares the details of her Christmas gift to you and how it can help you through the festive period and move into the new year with a more positive mindset.

    ABOUT THE HOST

Ang is first and foremost a very proud Mum. She is on a mission to share her experiences of both divorce and life as a single Mum. With a 25 year career in the corporate world, she has always been passionate about empowering women and those around her. She is a fully qualified life coach of 20 years and a self confessed self development junkie.

Ang has written her first book called 'Do I Really Hate Men', due to be released later this year which NEEDS to be read by women worldwide. With a high level of emotional intelligence she works tirelessly to improve the lives of womankind through her words, both digitally and at speaking events globally.

With a six year divorce behind her, Ang represented herself in court a total of 6 times. She has been a single parent of two boys for a total of 14 years. She has lived through the struggles and come out the other side. Her words, honesty and humour captivates her audience.

  • This week Ang is joined by Lynn Schulte, birth healing specialist, pelvic health physiotherapist and founder of the ‘Institute for Birth Healing’, which helps women heal from all the issues they face after birth. Directly after birth all women shift their entire focus on to their newborn, any lingering pain or discomfort the mother may feel is chalked up to ‘the difficulty of giving birth’. But, what most women don’t realise is that the trauma of giving birth can lead to pain, both mental and physical, that will last a lifetime if it is not addressed. In this episode, Lynn covers the whole topic of birth related trauma, the consequent pain and how to heal in the short term so that your body and mind are where they need to be.

    KEY TAKEAWAYS

With 30 years of experience as a physiotherapist Lynn had to move states and start her practice from scratch. It was here that she discovered a revelation that led to her work with postnatal women.

Giving birth is a beautiful, yet traumatic, experience. Lynn explains how the body and mind react to this trauma and how the pain and problems that women experience after birth are a direct result of this trauma.

Once the trauma associated with the pain is identified it is time to work on healing. Lynn breaks down how she works with her patients to heal their bodies, and their minds.

Lynn talks about the various positions that women lie in when giving birth and how they affect the resulting pain and problems they can incur post birth.

    BEST MOMENTS

“Our issues remain in our tissues until we get help with them.”

“The cells of our body get stuck in that place of trauma and we need to heal them so we can move into present day awareness.”

“You can need from the mind alone, you have to reconnect it to your mind."

  • Ang has been having a few technical difficulties with the podcast in recent weeks and has spent quite a bit of time trying to overcome them. Whilst it was initially getting her down, with the help of some friends, she powered through, after realising why she started the show in the first place - to spread positivity. Inspired by these events, Ang has dedicated this week's episode to managing your time and random acts of kindness, to help you realise that what you need the most, might be right in front of you.

    KEY TAKEAWAYS

Our lives can become so busy with ‘stuff’ that we sometimes don’t have the time to stop and realise what we’re doing. When Ang’s working hours got in the way of her spending time with her children she decided to do a time audit and reevaluate where, and with whom, she spends her time.

We all have a habit of saying ‘yes’ to everything. Either out of kindness, or from a fear of letting others down. However, as Ang has discovered, and explains, saying ‘no’ can have huge benefits to you and those around you.

How often do you stop to ‘smell the roses’? Ang has realised how there are many thing in her life that she should be grateful for, but how they are easily missed if we don’t take a moment to acknowledge them.

Something that hit home for Ang when her friends helped her fix her podcast issues is that kindness is free. But more than that, it makes you feel good as well as the person you’re helping. Ang reflects on this and shares the many simple ways you can bring a little joy to someone's life.

    BEST MOMENTS

“Time becomes more valuable the more you realise it’s running out.”

“Saying no will create the space that you need to say yes to the things that nourish you and make you feel good.”

“Forgive yourself for a past mistake and remind yourself that you are doing the best that you can.”

  • Although we associate money with happiness, it can, in truth, be the cause of many problems. That is why, this week, Ang has invited Dominic Baldwin, CEO of Xentum Ltd on to the show. Dominic’s company focuses on helping people with lifestyle wealth planning. Where most financial advisors will advise you in ways that benefit them, and their cut of your money, Dominic approaches financial advice from a wellbeing point of view. In this interview with Ang, Dominic outlines the steps and strategies he uses that can help you achieve healthy, financial wellbeing.

    KEY TAKEAWAYS

Dominic’s father lost his parents at a very early age and, as a result, found himself to be financially independent. Dominic later discovered that the people advising his father about his finances did not have his best interests at heart. Dominic explains how this led him on the path to forming Xentum Ltd.

Most financial advisors will ask you how much money you have and then try to increase that amount by investing and/or attempting to save you from paying a high tax bill. Dominic outlines how his service offers something different - financial advice from a humanistic point of view.

Most of us spend our lives trying to achieve financial wellbeing. Dominic lays out his tried and tested method on how he helps his clients get there.

Through his work with his clients, Dominic realised that most of them were also in need of emotional support. This led him to form another company, Xentum Wellbeing. He explains what this company does and how it can help you.

    BEST MOMENTS

“Don’t dream in black and white, dream in technicolour.”

“There’s no correlation between happiness and your bank balance.”

“If your advisor is being remunerated as a percentage of your success then there is a conflict of interest.”

  • This week on the show Ang is joined by Nadine Pittam, accredited psychotherapist and host of the “This Won’t Fix You”. Nadine specialises in working with clients who experience intense feelings of love and are prone to obsessions, or more commonly referred to as ‘love addicts’. The majority of Nadine’s work centres around helping people come to terms with the loss of a loved one, the very definition of divorce. In this interview with Ang, Nadine addresses what physiotherapy actually is, its benefits and shares some fascinating insights on how we feel about our feelings.

    KEY TAKEAWAYS

    ● A lot of people have predetermined ideas of what psychotherapy entails, mainly based on its portrait in the movies. However, Nadine describes what therapy really entails and the benefits that come from it.

    ● Trauma can present itself in multiple ways and, sometimes, they are not always obvious. Nadine and Ang discuss some of the ways trauma can manifest and why it is important to address it before it takes hold.

    ● After experiencing a divorce it is very common to suddenly feel incomplete, to feel that our ‘other half’ has disappeared. Nadine explains the importance of acknowledging these feelings and the steps you can take to process these thoughts.

    ● Those people that do enter into therapy use it as a tool to get past the impending crisis they are facing. However, as Nadine explains, those that enter into therapy for the long haul have an opportunity to transform their lives in ways they never thought possible.

    BEST MOMENTS

“Whoever you are or whatever you’ve done, your behaviour makes sense.”

“Therapy isn’t talking about your feelings, it’s talking about how you feel about your feelings.”

“If you keep something in the dark for long enough, it will develop.”

A bad night's sleep can affect you in so many different ways and, in the modern world, it seems like there are more factors than ever before that affect our sleep. But, there is also more educational and practical tools available to us to help. In this interview, Nicole shares her in-depth knowledge of sleep science so you can develop healthy sleeping practices and build a solid foundation for becoming the best version of yourself.

    KEY TAKEAWAYS

After paying a sleep professional to help them, Nicole became obsessed with the positive benefits of a good night's sleep. She explains to Ang how this led her to a career as a sleep coach. When living with a sleep problem, it is common practice to keep it to yourself and just expect it to work itself out. However, this will only lead to more problems. Nicole discusses the first steps you need to take to address this problem. Nicole shares her top tips on things you can do as part of your nighttime routine to ensure a better night's sleep. Waking up in the middle of the night can be awful, especially when you just can’t get back to sleep. But, this is a common problem, and as Nicole explains, there are ways to help you get back to sleep.

However, these negative behaviours are often a sign of things to come. From controlling behaviours to love bombing and jealousy to communication, Ang is here to tell you her ten most common red flags, how to spot them early and, ultimately, how to make sure you find the partner you deserve.

    KEY TAKEAWAYS

Communication in any relationship is crucial. And it’s crucial to make sure it’s right from day one. Ang discusses the red flags to look out for regarding communication. When Ang was dating someone early after her divorce she realised that some of his behaviours were not normal and were causing Ang to adjust her lifestyle. She talks about the dangers of controlling behaviours and how to look out for them. How do you know something might be a red flag? Ang tells you the one question you can ask yourself to be certain whether your potential future partner is displaying any behaviours to be cautious of. Meeting someone new is extremely exciting and can lead to emotions spiralling out of control. However, someone who can not control those emotions can begin to “Love Bomb”. Ang explains the concept of love bombing and how it’s actually a red flag to look out for.

    BEST MOMENTS

“If you can have red flags in your mind before you go on your date it can save you a lot of time and heartache.”

“Controlling behaviours can begin as something small and innocent. So, be aware of them before they grow out of proportion.”
