Last night Germán and I talked about hot, tense horses and horses that jig, so they get anxious and can't quite settle. It can be so offputting when this happens at a show, we discussed some student experiences and how you might handle a situation like this.
We also talked about how your rider position can contribute too, so if you're holding your breath or tense, your horse is going to feel that.

In last night's session Germán, Nicole and I talked about our tips for planning your ride, and how to plan your rides depending on your horse. So your plan is going to be different depending on the type of your horse, a hot horse and a lazy horse are going to need different types of plans!
We also talked about consistency, this Friday Jan 10th is quitters day, the day when most people give up on their new years resolutions.
To help you maintain your consistency, join us in Strides! Enrollment closes this Sunday Jan 12th.

Well it has been a week! It's kind of ironic that we had a groundwork webinar on Sunday and had planned to talk about groundwork today, because this week a fire broke out right behind our barn and we had to quickly load the horses and get them out.
It's so important that you do your groundwork and your horse loads on a good day, because trailer loading is just ground manners on a more refined level.
It just goes to show how important groundwork is and that your horse is able to load quickly when literally every second counts!

In last night's episode we celebrated not only our winners of the challenge, but all of the students who participated and worked so hard on themselves and their horses over the last 30 days. I am so proud of every single one of my students!
I loved watching everyone's videos, seeing everyone's arenas, their horses, there was so much variety! So many different types and breeds and sizes. And I could see how much everyone really loved their horses.
I hope you enjoy it.
Happy Riding!
