Duke now knows who they will face in the first round of the NCAA tournament. It will be Mount St. Mary's, a small MAAC school in Maryland. The Mountaineers won their play-in game on the back of a great performance by both of their big men after American's best big got hurt. The Duke Basketball Roundup watched the game and also dug into their deep archive of game tape to bring you all you need to know about this team and how it may present challenges to the Blue Devils.

The Duke Blue Devils are ACC champions! For the first time since 2005-2006, Duke wins the ACC Tournament after claiming the outright regular season title, defeating the Louisville Cardinals 73-62. Donald and Jason recap everything on Episode 706.
It was a tough win for the Blue Devils, who didn’t have a great first half but surged in the second half to take the game. The second half defense and the tenacity the team showed was incredible. Kon Knueppel was the ACC Tournament MVP, but there were several unsung heroes that helped Duke to the ACC title.
After the break, we discuss some of the things that need to improve as we turn to the NCAA Tournament. We give out our Play of the Game as well as our Player of the Week as well. We end with quick predictions on what seed lines await Clemson and Louisville, whether Duke will be the #1 overall seed, and whether UNC makes the Big Dance.

The Duke Blue Devils survive another one in the ACC Tournament after a 74-71 win over the UNC. We recap everything and preview the ACC Tournament Final on Episode 705.
It was a tale of two halves in Charlotte, as Donald and Jason recap what was an amazing first half from the Blue Devils. Lots of great play by some unsung heroes, from Pat Ngongba and Khaman Maluach to Isaiah Evans to Kon Knueppel and Sion James. There was a lot of great play in the first half, including some hustle plays that proved to be the difference. The second half was not as great, as Duke almost saw a 24 point lead turn into a UNC win. Thankfully, Jae’Lyn Withers’ lane violation at the end helped Duke escape.
Next up is the ACC Tournament Final, and Duke will face the Louisville Cardinals. They have played tremendously well since we last faced them on December 8th, the first ACC game of the season for both teams. It’s somewhat fitting that the final ACC game of the season pits these two teams together for the title. We preview that game and what to watch for when the teams tip off tonight.

The Duke Blue Devils advance in the ACC Tournament after a win over the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, but Cooper Flagg and Maliq Brown picked up injuries that could keep both out for differing lengths of time. We discuss it on Episode 704.
Jason is in Charlotte for the ACC Tournament and gives his take from his vantage point on press row at the Spectrum Center. He and Donald discuss all that happened in this game, from the vibes in the arena to Cooper Flagg injuring his ankle just minutes after Maliq Brown injured his shoulder again. Still, this team was resilient in storming back to take the lead and keep Georgia Tech at arm’s length the rest of the way. There was some good in this game but also some things to improve as the team moves onto the ACC Tournament semifinals.
Standing in their way: UNC, who beat Wake Forest to set up a third battle between the two rivals and the second matchup in 6 days. Jason and Donald forego the normal preview to discuss some of the things to watch as Duke adjusts to having Flagg and Brown unavailable. We end with a tribute to John Feinstein, who passed away suddenly on Thursday.

Duke's quests for an ACC tournament banner begins on Thursday at noon and the Duke Basketball Roundup is your go-to spot for a preview. Only minutes after Georgia Tech finished knocking off Virginia, Jason and Donald hopped on to pod about what they have seen from the Yellowjackets and what Duke should be concerned about in this matchup. Jason says this is the team he least wanted to see in the quarterfinals, for sure.

The Duke Basketball Roundup has reached another major milestone, episode #700. And just like we do every time we hit a big round number, we welcome former Blue Devil great Kenny Dennard to the podcast for an expert opinion on the current team as well as a trip down memory lane. The Duke Blue Devils hammered the Wake Forest Demon Deacons last night to cap an undefeated 17-0 record in Cameron this season. We recap it all on Episode 699.
With Jason out, our 6th Man Scott Rich joins Donald to recap everything that happened in this game. Duke had a sluggish start, but it was so much fun to see this team scrap to take the lead and open it up to a 40 point lead late before winning 93-60. Scott and Donald talk though all of the major things that Duke did well, from hustle to defense to Cooper Flagg’s NPOY performance.
We also get into some of the bad, including a discussion on Caleb Foster not getting into the game. There were some picks to nit, but this team is steadily becoming one that no one wants to mess with in March. We end with love for the Duke Women’s Team as they prepare for the ACC Tournament this week in Greensboro.

The Duke Blue Devils were able to get another huge blowout win on Saturday, this time against the Florida State Seminoles. We recap the victory on Episode 698.
Jason and Donald, after the headlines, get into the game and start by commending the team on how well they responded after Cooper Flagg had to leave the game for a while after getting swatted in the eye. That could have really affected the team, but so many guys stepped up. In a 35-point blowout, there was a lot of love to be spread around in the good, so we do just that.
We also get into some of the things to improve from this game, leading with the fact that it wasn’t the best shooting game. Still, the team was able to get to 100 points for the 4th time this season (and 3rd straight Saturday), and we end with the best sequence Duke has had all year and our Player of the Week.

There is some bonus Blue Devil coverage on TV this weekend. The ACC Network will be airing an hour-long documentary titled, "We're #1 - The 1991/1992 Duke Blue Devil National Champions." The doc features brand new interviews with most of the major players on those teams as well as the coaches and much, much more. And, to celebrate the release of this special program. The Duke Basketball Roundup sat down with the producer of that documentary, Ed Mabe, to hear from him about how he got it made and his favorite moments from talking to Coach K and the 91/92 champs.
You will get to hear about the special relationship between Bobby Hurley and Christian Laettner as well as the way Coach K lit a fire under the team and sparked them to the 1991 title.

The Duke Blue Devils destroyed the Miami Hurricanes, but it may have come at a huge cost as Jason and Donald recap everything on DBR Bites #95.
The big focus of the crew is on Tyrese Proctor, who injured his knee last night during the game. There’s no official word on what the diagnosis is, but we hope it’s not major. We discuss what his absence means for the team and we discuss some of the headlines that came in, some well before they were due.
On the court, Isaiah Evans was once again on fire and we lead with another fun game from him. The rest of the team showed out on offense and defense, and we get to a lot of each. Before the game preview of the team that we’ve seen before, we heard from Coach Jon Scheyer on the rumors linking Jai Lucas to the Miami head coaching job. Donald was able to get some info from the weekly ACC press conference, so you won’t want to miss what Scheyer had to say. We then get into previewing the Canes, who are the worst team in the ACC. Still it’s a game that Duke wants to win to keep their momentum going. We’ll also hear from Miami interim coach Bill Courtney about some of his lineup rotations and what he thinks the Canes need to do in order to beat Duke.

It is a rarity in the sport these days, two major conference teams venturing outside of their league for a mid-Februrary matchup. But, that is exactly what Duke and Illinois will be doing this weekend and the DBR Podcast is very excited about it. For your mid-week enjoyment, DBR Podcast co-host Jason Evans sits down with a fellow member of the Duke class of 1989, Danny Ferry, one of the all-time great Duke hoops players. They start by chatting about the current Duke team, which Danny thinks could be historically good... like the best Duke team in at least 20 years. Their wide ranging conversation also gets into the ways the game of basketball has changed in recent years; reflections on the game where Danny set the Duke record by scoring 58 points in one contest; his decision not to play for the LA Clippers and to head to Italy instead; and how tight the Brotherhood is (especially among NBA front-office Dukies). Oh, and Jason also asks him for a Coach K story and Danny comes through with a salty tale about one of the major reasons he ended up picking Duke when he was being recruited.
