In this powerful episode, we welcome David Garlock, a reentry professional and criminal justice reform advocate, who shares his incredible story of transformation and redemption. David’s life took a dramatic turn after he and his brother were sentenced to 25 years in prison for taking the life of their abuser. With the help of the Equal Justice Initiative, David was released on parole after serving more than 13 years, during which time he pursued educational opportunities that would lay the foundation for his future success.
David's journey didn't end with his release. He went on to earn a bachelor's degree and became the Lancaster Program Director for New Person Ministries, where he worked tirelessly to support men reentering society, including those who have committed sex offenses. His work has made a significant impact in the field of reentry, and he continues to serve on several boards, including the Pennsylvania Reentry Council and NARSOL.
