Matti Frost is a multi-instrumentalist based in Pennsylvania. Since 2013, he’s been the singer/rhythm guitarist/main songwriter of Philadelphia-based metal outfit Frost Giant. He’s also notable for having drummed with bands like Live Fast Die, The Commercials, and many more.
On today’s episode of GIG NIGHTMARES, Matti reflects on an ill-fated DIY tour he embarked on 25 years ago with The Commercials through the great Canadian wilderness, getting stopped at the border and being torn apart by mosquitoes, as well as other odd misadventures from his time with the band.

Rich Goldberg is the president and founder of NJ-based booking agency Ultra Artists. In the 80’s and 90’s, he booked many iconic acts including Greg Allman, The B-52’s, Billy Idol, Cyndi Lauper, Thomas Dolby, The Romantics, The Ramones, The Nerds, and many more.

Mark Briody is the rhythm guitarist & co-founder of American heavy metal band Jag Panzer. Since the release of their debut “Ample Destruction” in 1984, the band has left their mark on heavy metal history. They’ve toured the world many times over, making numerous appearances at international festivals like Wacken and Sweden Rock, and released their 12th studio album “The Hallowed” in 2023.

Carlos Drouet is a singer from New Jersey. Having taught himself how to sing working for tips on public transit buses as a kid in Ecuador, he has been singing and playing guitar in a handful of local cover bands for the past few years, most notably Faith in Chaos.
In today’s episode, Carlos tells nightmare stories from working with a former guitarist who would curse band members out onstage, stop songs and start them over if any mistake was made, cancel gigs hours before they’re scheduled to start, cancel gigs in the middle of said gig as they’re performing, and much more on GIG NIGHTMARES.

Brian Silver is a bassist from New Jersey known as the bandleader of NJ-based tribute act 80’s Revolution. Throughout the 70’s and 80’s, Brian rocked the East Coast as bassist for The Flossie Band and played many shows alongside iconic acts of the day.

Teeze/Roughhouse is an American hair metal band from the 1980’s Philly Metal Scene, notable for their big manes of hair, loud amps, multi-color shredded outfits, guitar spins, blood spurting, stage antics, and tons of makeup. While signed to Columbia/Sony Records, they toured the United States opening for bands like Skid Row, Kix, Ace Frehley, Blue Oyster Cult, Cinderella, Vince Neil of Motley Crue, Steven Adler of Guns N’ Roses, & Eddie Money. Brett Anspach is a 25 year old multi-instrumentalist and producer from Pine Grove, PA. He got his start as a professional musician singing and playing guitar throughout the tristate area in his original band Ultraviolent, joining NJ deathcore outfit Monument of a Memory on drums for a national tour, and eventually touring the world as a guitarist with the Stars Wars-themed metal band Galactic Empire.
In today’s special fan-requested episode, Brett tells us of a recent Gig Nightmare encountered with Galactic Empire in which the band found themselves stuck with the worst bus driver in the galaxy (or at the very least, Rome).

Todd Fogle is a drumming veteran with over 30 years underneath his sticks. He spent half a decade touring the U.S. with his recently reunited band, Grey AM. After retiring from touring he played with The Buttons, a regional garage rock band, and Reverend Blue Jeans, a power blues trio, for over a decade. He is currently the drummer for Fully Loaded and Kenny Jenkins & The Good Little Americans as well as a fill-in for gigs with other local artists.

Don Oriolo is an American artist, musician, and writer best known for his work in the music publishing industry and for overseeing the Felix the Cat cartoon franchise after his father, Felix co-creator Joe Oriolo, died in 1985. Oriolo was a head publishing executive at RSO Records, Twentieth Century Fox, April Blackwood Music - East Coast, CBS/Sony Records, Elvis Presley's Gladys Music and Hill and Range Music, and he worked as the vice president of Chappell/Intersong Music.
Some of his music publishing credentials include writing Jon Bon Jovi's first charted track, as well as signing Meat Loaf, Jim Steinman, and Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam. He also wrote music and arranged and produced records for musicians including Doctor Hook, Meco, Robert Gordon, and more. He’s responsible for publishing the works of the Bee Gees, Eric Clapton, Donna Summer and Casablanca Records, and was named Country Music Publisher of the Year for both 1978 and 1979.
In today’s interview, Don recounts some of the bizarre rules and bans he encountered working in NYC recording studios in the 70’s, a disastrous fill-in gig on Broadway, overseeing the production of the Broadway musical “The Wiz”, and navigating the music industry to get Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam to the top of the charts.

Odell Mickens is a bassist from New Jersey known as the bandleader of NJ-based disco outfit The Discoteks. He has toured with The Trammps, featuring Earl Young ("Disco Inferno") for over three decades, taking part in events like the Disco Explosion Tour featuring the likes of KC & the Sunshine Band, the Village People, Gloria Gaynor, Evelyn Champagne King and Sister Sledge. He has toured and entertained crowds around the country playing keyboards with WALLSTREET, writing many of Wallstreet's singles, including "Old School Music", "Closing Time" and "Finally Friday". One of his first bands in the early 80's, Exit Nine, opened for several national acts including Cool & the Gang, Patti Labelle, the Commodores, BP Express and the Trammps. Odell also performs with Macho Man, a tribute to the Village People.

Siblings Sarah & Jeff Teets are the singer and guitarist duo in MindMaze, a four piece progressive/power metal band from the Lehigh Valley, PA. Since their formation in 2012, they've released 3 full-length albums as well as some singles and an EP that fuse elements of hard rock, traditional metal, progressive metal and power metal together to create a unique sound. Musically, MindMaze features powerful female vocals, melodic and memorable guitar hooks, taking inspiration from bands such as Iron Maiden, Dream Theater, Savatage, Riot and Saxon. The band has focused on delivering 100% live, high energy performances filled with spontaneity. They've toured all over the US and Canada, including performing at the famed Whisky A-Go-Go in Los Angeles and legendary niche festival ProgPower USA in Atlanta. The band is currently working on their 4th full-length album due out in 2025.
