Spirituality became central to NiteshGor’s life when, as a teenager, he founded a youth movement to campaign against the UK government’s proposed forced closure of Bhaktivedanta Manor, a temple outside London that was purchased and gifted by George Harrison.
Nitesh went on to create Avanti Schools Trust, a government-funded network of schools in the UK rooted in spirituality.
He co-created the world’s first equity index rooted in dharmic values, the Dow Jones Dharma Index, and now the Dharma Endowment Fund.
He has helped establish numerous spiritual initiatives, from a 75-acre retreat centre in Lincolnshire to a vibrant restaurant and wellbeing hub in London.
He has authored two books (Dharma of Capitalism, published in 2010 by Kogan Page, and Before Religion, being republished by Harper Collins in 2025) and received an OBE from the late Queen for his services to education.

As a teenage art student in 1960s New York City, Srimati Syamarani Dasi became one of the first disciples of Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, the world-renowned founder-acharya of ISKCON.
In those historical times, the ancient tradition exploded across the West and became colloquially known in popular culture as the “Hare Krishna movement.”
Under Srila Prabhupada’s guidance, Syamarani Didi painted some of the most recognizable illustrations in his translations and commentaries, including the Bhagavad Gita As-It-Is.
This volume alone, featuring Didi’s work, has been translated into more than 60 languages since 1972, sold more than 40 million copies, and has become the most popular version of the key Indian spiritual text, the Bhagavad Gita.
In November 1977, Srila Prabhupada departed from the vision of the world. In 1992, Syamarani met his spiritual successor and intimate friend, Srila Bhaktivedanta Narayana Gosvami Maharaja.
Just before his divine departure, Srila Prabhupada had requested Srila Narayana Maharaja to continue his mission.
Under the latter’s tutelage, Syamarani painted one of the most iconic images in Bhakti yoga, Seva-Kunja.
The painting was installed with an elaborate ceremony at the pilgrimage site of Śrī Rūpa-Sanātana Gauḍīya Maṭha in the holy city of Vrindavan, India.
Syamarani Didi’s artistic prowess is only matched by her profound devotion and humility.
As one of the few female gurus in her lineage, she gives initiation into the chanting of the maha-mantra (“the Hare Krishna mantra”) and other spiritual and priestly rites.
She also fully engages in educating students and seekers in the beautiful truths of Vedic culture.
This system of ancient spiritual, philosophical, and cultural traditions is based on the sacred texts known as the Vedas, propounded in such volumes as the Bhagavad Gita and the Srimad Bhagavatam.

Meet Vrindavanath Das (Shawn Coutu)
Bhakti has been a part of his life since birth.
His family played an integral role in the acquisition and renovation of what is now known as the Bhakti Center in Manhattan’s East Village—a vibrant spiritual hub for seekers.
As a teenager, Vrindavanath formed a personal connection with the Bhagavad-gītā, striving to understand its wisdom and apply it to his life.
During a gap year between high school and college, he travelled to Vrindavan, the birthplace of Lord Krishna, to formally study bhakti texts.
After spending 14 years immersed in the energy of New York and the San Francisco Bay Area, he began to feel the limitations of urban living and decided to return to the heart of bhakti textual study with renewed focus.
Over the past two years, responding to a growing interest in online spiritual study, he began facilitating group readings of bhakti texts, including the Gītā.
His sessions are known for their inclusivity, clarity, and devotion-centered approach.
Now residing full-time at the Govardhan Eco Village, Vrindavanath is immersed in the study of the Bhāgavata Purāṇa alongside a diverse international community of learners.
In this session, he’ll guide us through an overview of the entire Bhagavad Gītā, inviting individuals in the group to take turns reading as we move through the flow and themes of the text—an enriching summary in just about 45 minutes.

Please meet Shyamasundar Das. A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada changed the world. When he came to America from India in 1965, few Westerners knew the deep spiritual truths behind ancient Vedic philosophy and culture.
Within a decade, most humans on the planet had heard the Hare Krishna mantra.
Shyamasundar das (Sam Speerstra) was one of Bhaktivedanta Swami’s earliest disciples, helping him shape the Krishna Consciousness movement in the Haight-Ashbury district of San Francisco, in London with the Beatles, and then, as the Swami’s personal secretary, he traveled with Prabhupada in India, Russia, and all over the globe.
In three volumes and nearly 600 photos, “Chasing Rhinos With The Swami” is the intimate account of Prabhupada’s amazing adventures, describing in loving detail the seven years Shyamasundar spent at the side of the perfect person.
