In this podcast episode, we dive into Acts 10:4-5, where the story of Cornelius reveals a profound truth: Even though Cornelius was a righteous man, he still needed the gospel. His good deeds and heartfelt devotion werenât enough to secure salvation. This passage challenges the common belief that being âgoodâ is all we need to find favor with God.
While Corneliusâ actions showed a sincere desire to seek the Lord, God made it clear that hearing the gospel and accepting Jesus Christ as Lord is the only way to salvation. We unpack the message that our good works are not a substitute for the gospel. They are a reflection of our faith, but the message of Christ is essential for salvation.
In this video, we discuss why righteousness without Christ is incomplete, and how every person, no matter their works, must hear and accept the gospel message to experience the fullness of Godâs grace. Donât miss out on this eye-opening episode that will deepen your understanding of salvation through faith in Christ.Acts 10:4-5

God considers this salvation experience of the Jews as so important He makes this the beginning of the year, a memorial. This last plague and the feast connected to it is of ultimate significance, and Jesus death and resurrection, which flows from this, is the most important thing God wants us to remember. âDo this in remembrance of me.â

Simon Magus wants to buy the spiritual power, giving of the Holy Spirit, from Peter. This desire to pay for this ability so that Simon can be great with the people is the gall of bitterness. When we seek to get or use something religious so that we can be more important we are in the gull of bitterness.
Acts 8:23

We often cry out for deliverance, just as the Israelites and Moses did. However, the deliverance we receive from God does not come about the way we want. How do we handle this disappointing way God has worked? Moses shows us how to handle these âevilsâ so that we can tell the truth, be ready for Godâs deliverance, and become the people God wants us to be.
Exodus 5:22
Then Moses turned to the LORD and said, âO Lord, why have you done evil to this people? Why did you ever send me? 23 For since I came to Pharaoh to speak in your name, he has done evil to this people, and you have not delivered your people at all.âWebsite:

Joseph is given the directions about naming Jesus. Joseph, however, is the right person to name Jesus and help him come into the world because of his characteristics. Because of the great character of Joseph, Emmanuel, God-with-us, has come into the world. God wants us to have those same characteristics and bring Jesus, Emmanuel, into our world.

God lit a bush on fire to get Mosesâ attention. God then called him to Himself and to the job God had for him. God does and will do the same for us. He is looking to call us to Himself and to the task He has for us. What God is waiting for is for us to turn aside to that thing, that burning bush God has lit on fire for us.
Exodus 3:4
4 When the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called to him out of the bush, âMoses, Moses!â And he said, âHere I am.â

The apostles got busy with managing the needs of the early church. They needed help. However, more than needing help, they needed to not neglect the word of God. Do we understand the importance of the word of God as they did? No matter what we do, what part of church we are participating in, where God has us in our work and home life, we, also, need to not neglect the word of God.

The early church did hard things, such as disciplining Ananias and Saphira. However, because they did the disciplining, and did it well, they remained pure. The result was that they were a powerful church, and everyone around them could see it. God intends to make us into a powerful church, just as He did the early church.
