Chad meditates on the salvation story found here in Chronicles 16. We are blessed beyond belief, for eternity. God brings everything together in His perfect time, and we can become dismayed when our timetables don't line up. Still He knows what is best and His mysterious ways bless us for eternity. Jeff Anderson sings "A Millionfold"

Lyrics to "A Millionfold"
You are faithful
For a thousand generations
To a covenant You made
With Abraham, Isaac and Jacob
Our inheritance was paid
With no strength in our hands
We travel a cross the sands
With Your protection
Wandering the desert
Our only hope is Your direction
A millionfold
A thousand times a thousand souls
Undeserving, here we stand
upon this land
Because of Your love
Because of Your faithful word
Oh Jesus
We give glory and thanks
Unto Your name forever
Unto Your name forever
You guard Your beloved
With Your outstretched arm
You say āDonāt touch my anointed ones,
do my prophets no harm!ā
In the lonely desert places
You multiply Your grace
And You feed us at Your banquet
Spread out a table in this place
A millionfold
A thousand times a thousand souls
Undeserving, upon this land
Here we stand
Because of Your love
Because of Your faithful word
As beloved children
We give You thanks
Unto Your name forever
Unto Your name forever

In this Thanksginving season, this song of David is truly appropriate. We can take no good thing for granted, but in everything give thanks to God. Chad gives a beautiful meditation on this passage, cautioning us from getting tied down with the cares of this world, when the true eternal riches are ours forever in Christ. Jeff Anderson sings "Tied Down".

Lyrics to "Tied Down"
When I was a child
I ran after things I cherished
Things I desired
Led to my soul despairing
When I was lost in my own little town
You sought me
You found me
You came to me, when I was tied down
Chorus:
I was tied down
By my own hands
Charms had their way
I was enslaved
I was tied down
You untangled me
To Your great name
Glory and honor Lord for eternity
To Your great name
Glory and honor Lord for eternity
Your yoke is easy your burden is light
You Opened my eyes then You gave me sight
When I was lost in my own little town
You sought me
You found me
You came to me, when I was tied down
And I will sing your praise
In my heart Iāll give you thanks
In my heart I seek your presence
And I live in Your love and grace
Under Your mercy
Under Your mercy

Lyrics to "Honor and Glory"
You turned the sea to dry land
So we could cross the river
delivered us by your hand
And we rejoiced together
So we give thanks through all the earth
For You alone command the waters
And You have heard my desperate prayers
For You alone save Your sons and daughters
Chorus:
Honor and glory
From every nation
Every generation
Is Yours O God
This day of blessing
Hearts now confessing
Your saving power and glorious work
Forever and ever, Amen.
You O God have tested us
You trapped us in your net
Laid heavy burdens on our backs
Let men trample on our heads
But then You brought us to your house
You refined us like silver
You brought us into freedom land
Through the fire and water
Bridge:
Your Cross covers the whole earth
And points to everyone everywhere
From one man
One crucifixion
One resurrection
One life for everyone

This scripture passage is so interesting and complex. A real cautionary tale. Chad sorts it all out for us, pointing us to Christ and His forgiveness, and warning us to resist taking matters of retribution into our own hands.

Lyrics to "For Want of Forgiveness"
Let me go, and leave my heart of stone
Iāll walk away
From getting even
For the times I was betrayed
And thought revenge
My only solution
Sunlight
flooding into darkness
You hold me up, and Iām letting go
Jesus, walking on the water
You come for me, and Iām letting go
Chorus:
But Abner;
Your hands were not bound;
your feet were not fettered; No man showed you mercy
Forgiving his debtor
as one falls before the wicked
you have fallen.āFor want of forgiveness
Deliver me from seeking my revenge
At the shrine of retribution
And I trust that Lord You have forgiven me
And I received Your absolution
Sunlight
flooding into darkness
You hold me up, so Iām letting go
Jesus, walking on the water
You come for me, and Iām letting go
Chorus:
But Abner;
Your hands were not bound;
your feet were not fettered;None showed you mercy
You were the debtor
as one falls before the wicked
you have fallen.āFor want of forgiveness
Donāt want to live a lie
Empty and alone
For want of forgiveness
A fool without friends
Take my heart of stone
I have been forgiven

Lyrics to
Oh, How the Mighty are Fallen (2 Samuel 1:17-27)
Your glory, O Israel, is slain on a hill!
Oh, How the mighty have fallen!Keep the news to yourself, of the blood that was spilled
Oh, How the mighty have fallen!
No field of offerings! no rain upon you
Oh, How the mighty have fallen!
Saul and Jonathan, beloved and true
Oh, How the mighty have fallen!Chorus
They were swifter than eagles
and stronger than lions
Oh, how the mighty have fallen
Now the weapons of war, have all run their course
The song we are singing is solemn
Oh, how the mighty
Oh, how the mighty have fallen
vs3
āYou daughters of Israel, weep over Saul,
who clothed you in scarlet aplenty,
who put ornaments of gold, with a heart so boldBut his sword did not return empty
The sun stood still, in the midst of the sky
Oh, How the mighty have fallen!
Jonathan my brother, how could you die
Oh, How the mighty have fallen!
Chorus
They were swifter than eagles
and stronger than the lions
Oh, how the mighty have fallen
Now the weapons of war, have all run their course
The song we are singing is solemn
Oh, how the mighty
Oh, how the mighty have fallen

My Jealous Fear
As my kingdom slips away
The prophets lips have spoken
Fear is taking over
And everything is broken
And I clench my fist in anger
I cannot hold the crown
Even in my greatest dreams
I keep losing the throne
Chorus:
āSaul has struck down his thousands
And we celebrate
But 10,000 are struck down by David
And His name is great
What more can he have,
What more can he have
but the kingdom
Now all I have left
Is my jealous fear
I looked for one just like me
Cried out for an earthly king
I was a fearful created being
When I rejected You
And Saul fell like Lucifer
But David rose like Christ
My true King and Warrior
The way, the truth the life
bridge
Let me serve only You
And see through Your eyes
By Your Word and Spirit
You can give me wisdom
To serve only You
In Your love and mercy
For every false way, every wrong turn, Iāve been following, Iāve been trying
Please forgive me, please forgive me
all I have left, all I have left, jealous fear

The bows of the mighty are broken,
And the rich sink under the waves
You raise the poor from the wreckage

You make all things new

Lyrics to Seed of a Woman
Turn aside, turn aside
Do not be afraid
Lay down, lay down
Never to awake
At her feet, he sank
he fell asleep
At her feet, he laid
Never to arise
She holds the hammer and takes the nail
In her right hand
Through his temple, comes the storm
And he will never stand
At her feet, he sank ,
he fell asleep
At her feet, he laid
Never to awake
Chorus:
The seed of a woman
Crushed the serpents head
Son of the virgin
Rose from the dead
The seed of a woman
Sunlight at dawn
When it rises, in its might
Praise to God. praise to God
For victory
Over sin, over death
Our enemy
At her feet, he sank
he fell asleep
At her feet, he laid
Never to arise
Turn aside, turn aside
I will not be afraid
I will lay down in peace
And when I awake
At Your feet, I will fall
and worship my Lord
At Your feet, I will bow
For I am alive
Bridge
Its over, its over now
Its over, do you hear the bell?
Ring out, ring out over death and hell
Your enemies perish
And all is well
At Your feet

Lyrics to "The Steadfast One"
Blessed the man who fears You, trusts You
The righteous will never be moved
Steady the heart, the heart set upon You
In the fight, when your heel is bruised

Whatever the battle,
Whatever the cost,
Whatever the struggle,
Whatever the loss
Light dawns in the darkness
You are not against us
No, You wonāt forget us
Yourāe the steadfast One
The steadfast One
Blessed the man who fears You, trusts You
Who is not afraid of bad news
Blessed the man, who imitates the Savior,
And freely gives to the poor
It is well
It is well
The wicked will perish
You will smile upon us forever

Victory over lies

Weāve rejected the curse
Through the cross of the Saviour
Youāve given us birth
Chorus
The battle that is raging
For better or for worse
To serve You is a blessing
To turn away from a curse

Lyrics to "Restoration"
Deborahās Song (Part 1)
Restoration
When we did what was right
In our own eyes
We were taken away
We were caught by surprise
Our highways abandoned,
Our villages ceased
The travelers kept to the byways. The land had no peace
When the Lord went before us
The heavens came down
The clouds dropped their water
And You shook the ground
(Chorus)
We were so tired
And hope was gone
Out of the silence
We hear a song
Restoration
My heart goes out
To those of you
Who offered themselves
So willingly
My heart can sing
Melodies to the Lord
Those that love You shall be
With a heart restored
When the Lord went before us
The heavens came down
The clouds dropped their water
And You shook the ground
(Chorus)
We were so tired
And hope was gone
Out of the silence
We hear a song
Restoration
Hear O kings
All you in high places
Let us sing
Sing to the God
who saves us
Restoration

For the sake of Your name
You cleanse this land
For the love of Your children
You stretch out Your hand
Vengeance is Yours
And Yours all alone
Judgement will come, in Your time
You take care of Your own
Chorus:
I have been crucified
I have been made alive
Here with my cross
I can walk in the light of Christ
You kill and you make alive
There is no god beside You
You wound and You heal me
And no one can undo
Lord, in my weakness
May I seek Your face
Lord, in my woundedness
Your kindness, Your grace

With the sun on my face, the wind at my back,
I feel like Iām soaring above the earth
But donāt let me fall away, donāt let me fall away
Donāt let me forget, the God who gave me birth
Chorus
Lord have mercy

But donāt let me fall away, donāt let me fall away
Donāt let me forget, the God of heaven and earth

Christ have mercy
Lord have mercy

Hidden Streams is exploring songs that are found in the canon of scripture. Chad's first pick to look at is called "The Song at the Sea" from Exodus 15. Jeff Anderson sings "There Is None Like You". In this song and many others that we will explore, we see God going to battle on behalf of His people. Very encouraging news for those of us that are struggling.

Lyrics to Song at the Sea (Exodus 15a)
In a world of trouble
Pursued by my enemy
We were trapped in the middle
Of the devil and the sea
My enemy boasted I was done
I had no strength left of my own
But You blew back the waters and rescued me
And my enemy was overthrown
There is none like you, none like You
There is none like you, none like You
Chorus:
I am standing
On the other side
Across the great divide
I am standing
cause You carried me
Across the great divide
And now I sing
There is none like You
Vs3
You alone are my strength
The God of my father
And Your right hand O Christ
Is strong and majestic in power
When Iām swallowed up in pride
You are my only salvation
When the enemy gets into my mind
You are my only redemption
There is none like you, none like You
There is none like you, none like You
Chorus
I am standing
On the other side
Across the great divide
I am standing
Because You carried me
Across the great divide
And now I sing
There is none like You
