Despite financial hardships, Tay was determined to make her business dreams come true, yet she was drowning in debt and faced with an unexpected twist: a global pandemic. As the reality of the pandemic set in, Tay and her partner Steve had to make difficult decisions… including the future of their relationship. Was Tay able to balance her business, relationships, and self-care in the face of a global pandemic—and come out on top?

Not to state the obvious, but being an entrepreneur is stressful! But did you know that it’s really important (/crucial) to personalize your self-care practices to your unique stressors?! That’s right - there are 10 different types of stress and specific rest practices that match each type!
Tay only learned this recently after crashing into burnout. She realized that she was doing everything right (eating the right things, prioritizing sleep, syncing her exercise with her cycle, etc) yet she still ended up in burnout. How did this happen?!
This led her to research more about stress, specifically the unique stressors that entrepreneurs face, such as overworking, rumination on work during non-work time, overcommitting, unrealistic to-do lists, constantly comparing yourself to others, and she realized that she wasn’t actually resting and recovering properly.
She shares her discoveries with Jess in today’s episode.
So when physical, mental and cognitive stressors build, how do we continue to prioritize our health and restorative practices? What do those restorative practices look like? And how do we navigate the delicate balance between work and rest?
Tune in to find out!

Are you even surprised that there’s an entire episode dedicated to your bowel movements?
This was actually one of our very first episode ideas. That’s how important it is!!
That’s right y'all - if you don’t poop every single day, it can cause so many symptoms that massively impact your ability to show up on a day-to-day basis in your business. Some of these symptoms include headaches, fatigue, brain fog, anxiety, mood swings, trouble sleeping, and joint pain.
Until Jess joined Breaking Up With Anxiety™ and started working with Tay in 2021, she had no idea the unexpected solution to many of her symptoms like anxiety, brain fog, and fatigue could be found in her own bathroom. Little did she know that improving her gut health, and pooping every single day, would massively improve the way she showed up in her business.
Tune into today’s episode to hear Tay and Jess discuss how taking care of their health (and their bowel movements) translated into better productivity, sleep, and focus, and increased organization, energy, and stress resilience in their businesses and life!

Rule # 1: Money doesn’t solve non-money problems. Remember that. Repeat that.
Entrepreneurship is an inner game, and if you don’t work on your happiness outside of work, then you won’t be happy when you hit whatever target you’re working towards in your business.
But sometimes it can feel like our head is barely above the water. Sometimes being the boss really sucks.
Holding the energy means staying committed no matter what. Even when faced with challenging situations like income dips, client complaints, personal life commitments, and the many, many other stressors of owning a business.
But… how do you do it? How do you stay fearless in the pursuit of what you want? How do you stay committed and faithful even when you want to throw in the towel because it feels like nothing you’re doing is working? And how do you know if it’s just an energy dip or actual burnout?
Jess and Tay answer all those questions and more in this episode!
So tune in for a conversation around resilience, intuition, adaptability, and how to hold the freakin’ energy and stay fearless in the pursuit of your dreams.

Welcome to Catch Up Part 2 — this episode, it’s Tay’s turn to spill the beans.
Hear from Tay as she gives updates on why she needed a break from recording the pod. Basically.. she crashed into burnout super hard and stopped caring about her business, her relationship, her friends… she stopped caring about a lot of things. She felt depressed but luckily was able to recognize what was going on and used her tools to pull herself out.
In this episode Tay explains in detail how this happened, what she did to pull herself out, hindsight on what she could have done differently, and all the juicy lessons learned.

This podcast is being recorded in seasons to accommodate for both our busy schedules - so something you don’t know is we had to take 4 months off after the last episode because life got hectic! In the best possible way for Jess, and in not the best way for Tay.
We decided to do something a little different for this episode and save our catch up for the pod instead of just calling each other like we would normally do! So as you can imagine… there was A LOT to catch up on! We talked for hours, and broke this up into two episodes.
This is Catch Up Part 1 — where we catch up with Jess. She tells us all about how she landed the most amazing, intense opportunity and everything that happened on our 4 months off.

In this episode, you’ll learn how you can regulate your nervous system through a launch (and also your life in general).
Depending on the length of your launch, there will be days (or maybe even weeks) where no one is buying or reaching out — it can get super stressful! This is why nervous system regulation is so important. You as the business owner, the human behind the business, deserve to feel steady throughout your launch instead of cycling through high highs and low lows. It’s not good for your health, it’s not good for your business, and it’s not good for the people who are following along in your launch!
Jess and Tay explore different modalities for regulating your nervous system, like..
Breathwork (it’s changed both their lives)Daily movementSelf careSupplementsDeeply nourishing your body with the right foods…all while weaving in their steps to a successful launch strategy.
Let’s normalize launching without burning out!

As women, we aren’t taught how to honour and work with our hormones. In fact, we’re usually taught that struggling with our hormones is just part of being female… which simply isn’t true!
In this episode, Tay breaks down the art of “cycle syncing” and how to apply this to your business and life so that you can maximize your creativity, productivity, and energy.
Much like the seasons throughout the year, our beautiful female bodies have 4 seasons within them every cycle. There are times where your problem solving skills will be heightened, other times when your communication skills will be heightened, times where you will be your most productive, and times where your intuition will be so incredibly clear. Knowing this and leaning into this energy within us as female entrepreneurs will be a game changer in not only your business, but also your health.
Please note in this episode Jess and Tay talk about a program called Align, which isn’t available at this time, but the IN SYNC With Your Hormones Workshop has the same information if you’re curious about diving deeper into this work!

Last episode we talked about the importance of having boundaries with your clients as a service provider. Now let’s talk about boundaries for better health!
Tay describes part of her burnout story and how she felt she could “out-run” it. If you are in a burn-out phase, make sure you set boundaries — this is huge! You need to take back control and work your way out.
In this episode Tay and Jess dive into the mindset blocks around setting and holding boundaries, especially for those who feel bad or guilty about setting them.
If you want to optimize your gut health, align your hormones, release anxiety, skyrocket energy levels, bring that libido back, boost productivity, navigate the stressors of everyday life with more ease, sleep really well, and have really good poops….
It’s going to require you to set some boundaries around your health, your time, what you eat, who you hang out with, etc.
Tune into this episode to learn the boundaries Tay lives by and what she suggests for busy entrepreneurs. The truth is that you can’t perform at the level you need to perform at if you aren’t taking care of your physical and mental health!
