Faced with a world of increasingly complex legal, industrial, and social systems, it can feel paralyzing to attempt to make any meaningful ecological impact on the world. Hosts Mike Stoess and Nick Donavon break through these monolithic challenges that the world faces, seeking simple, attainable solutions for the average person that focus on backyard issues, rather than global dilemmas. On top of tackling ecological issues, Nick and Mike explore ways to better enjoy the outdoors and take in depth looks at the flora and fauna of the South East U.S. Listeners are invited to join their journey of learning and self improvement as they take steps to get a little closer to the world around us, and maybe even becoming a bit more wild minded.

Podcast “Vine & River” is hosted by wine director, author and Russian Riverkeeper board member, Lenka Davis. "Vine & River" aims to be a free educational resource for both the local and global farming community interested in water-sensitive, environmentally conscious farming.
With this podcast, we are honoring the legacy of Paul Dolan, long-time Russian Riverkeeper board member and pioneer in California’s organic, biodynamic and regenerative viticulture movement. Paul was a voice of intelligence and reason, urging others to “Farm Like the Planet Depends on It."
Paul showed us that it is possible to employ farming practices that reduce the environmental pressure and pollution vineyards put on and in our rivers, and groundwater. He freely shared his expertise with the goal that farming better contributes to a better harvest and better environment. In this spirit, Russian Riverkeeper is starting a series of conversations with leading viticulturists and farmers on the confluence of viticulture and water.

The science of the good life, huh? Sorry this is not about booze, sex and rock n'roll (or whatever is en vogue right now). In fact we talk about a lot of things that tree huggers would love: appreciation of beauty, gratitude, positive emotions, relationships and well, love. However we, that is positive psychologists and positive psychology practitioners buried ourselves in books, set out to experiment and then write it all up in a writing style that is about as exciting to read as watching an avocado turn brown. And that's the problem: if you are not an academic you probably want a little bit more excitement, than pages and pages of densely written journals can provide. Even if you are an academic, who has time to read all the interesting stuff out there anyways? So in an effort to save your eyes taking on a comically rectangular shape the positive psychology podcast brings the science of the good life to your earbuds. It's not all treehugger style though; sometimes we might get quite serious, for example when exploring things like post-traumatic growth or positive parenting. Subscribe if you want to benefit from the scientific insights into happiness and meaning while you are on the go. Let me know where you are while you are listening to this. If you like it review it, because that's the only way other people can find it too.
