In this episode, we tackle the overwhelming complexities that fill our leadership roles and daily lives. Bethany shares how to apply the KISS principle—Keep It Simple, Stupid—to cut through the noise and focus on what truly matters. This episode will inspire you to streamline your leadership, clear the clutter, and focus on what’s mission-critical.
Key Takeaways:
Less is More: Adopting the mindset that more is not better can reduce stress and improve leadership focus.Mission Critical Focus: Shift from busyness to productivity by identifying what’s most essential, as emphasized in Greg McKeown’s Essentialism.Streamline the Work: Eliminate, automate, and delegate tasks to create a smoother workflow. Simplification leads to better results.Make the work simple: Our society has a love affair with chasing trends, advertising “should do’s” and making things complex. Make the work simple anyway. The Paradoxical Commandments can be found at https://www.paradoxicalcommandments.com/

In today’s episode we talked with Executive Leadership Coach Michele Smith, about all things transformational leadership including why mindset and being authentic matters.
Michele dives deep into transformational leadership, explaining that it’s not about a one-time change but a continuous process of improvement and engagement across all levels of an organization. Leaders must align their vision with a humble approach, involving frontline employees in problem-solving and decision-making. Michele emphasizes the importance of developing people, setting aside ego, and maintaining the right amount of tension for growth. She also discusses how mindset plays a critical role, encouraging leaders to shift away from a “hero mentality” and instead focus on nurturing and empowering their teams.

In today’s episode we talked with former UN and NATO peacekeeper, professor, and bestselling author Oars COnig about why humble leadership is the key to winning in today’s world.
In this episode and his new book, Radical Humility: Be a Badass Leader AND a Good Human, Urs challenges the common misconception that humility equals weakness and presents the idea that winning in today’s world requires a new kind of humble leadership.
We explore the three core pillars of this leadership style:
Deep self-awarenessFocus on collaborative relationshipsGrowth mindsetAdditionally, we break down the shift from "THEN" leadership, which organizations are used to, to "NOW" leadership, which embraces radical humility. This shift is explained through five key transformations:
Dig Deep – Know yourself, focus like an elite athlete, and fail successfully.Tough on Results, Tender on People – Care deeply about others while maintaining high standards.Lead like a Compass – Prioritize clarity over control and create a leadership development culture.Full Transparency – Be honest about your weaknesses and share the truth.Champion a Fearless Culture – Build teams that challenge norms because "Everything you want is on the other side of fear" (Jack Canfield).Tune in to learn how you can embrace radical humility to become a badass leader and a good human!

In today’s episode we talked with author and CEO Tammy Alvarez about how to level up so we make a big impact and never hate Mondays again.
In this episode she explains:
Clarity in Career Goals: Step one to leveling up is gaining clarity on where you are in your current career season and understanding why you want what you want. Is it a genuine calling, or are you chasing external validation?Becoming a Leader Worth Following: The second step involves becoming the leader people choose to follow. This is achieved by embracing transparency, vulnerability, and the ability to fail successfully. Tammy emphasizes the importance of not pretending to have all the answers, as authenticity fosters true leadership.Don’t be Afraid to Break the Rules: To drive impactful change within an organization, it's essential to break out of your silo and collaborate with others who share your pain points. You don’t need the title to lead; leadership comes from building relationships, taking initiative, and uniting colleagues across departments to tackle collective challenges. By creating a coalition of change-makers and addressing organizational issues together, you lead from a place of influence, not authority—proving that leadership isn't about titles, but about taking the first step to make things better.Small Conversations, Big Impact -Transforming Work at Any Level: Transformation doesn’t have to be a massive, top-down initiative led by the C-suite. Real change can start with simple, human conversations at the individual level. By addressing small issues within your role and collaborating with colleagues across departments, you can create meaningful improvements without the need for big budgets or presentations. These grassroots efforts not only solve immediate problems but also build the leadership skills necessary for larger transformations in the future.Listen in to discover how to escape the career trap, create lasting impact, and rekindle your passion for work!

In today’s episode we talked with award-winning author and mentor Janice Thompson about the importance of being a firestarter to mentor and stir up the gifts within other people.
A firestarter is the initial person that goes out and says “I see this gift in you.” They essentially fan the flame, or stir up the gift by recognizing it in someone else and prompting them to do something with that gift.
