عالم أقل وِحدة
في الأول لما وصلت أمريكا، كنت محتاج أفهم الثقافة الأمريكية وأتعود عليها. بس الموضوع ماكانش ثقافة وبس، كان لازم كمان أتعلم لغة جديدة.
لما بدأت أتعلم إنجليزي، ابتديت ألاحظ التفاصيل الصغيرة اللي بتربط بين الثقافة واللغة. والتفاصيل دي صعب جدًا على أي حد الإنجليزي مش لغته الأم إنه يفهمها.
دي كانت أول مرة في حياتي أحس بالحماس لتعلم لغة جديدة. وكل حاجة بدأت بكلمة واحدة، وفجأة لقيت نفسي بكوّن صداقات جديدة. الكلمة دي خلتني أحس إن العالم أقل وحدة، وأكتر متعة.
والتجربة دي خلتني مبسوط أوي، ومتحمس أكتر إني أتعلم لغات تانية، وأكتشف التفاصيل الصغيرة اللي بتخلي كل لغة مميزة. وده واحد من الأسباب اللي خلتني أبدأ أتعلم عربي.

مدام فايزة
مدام فايزة بتشتغل في إدارة نادي مهم في الزمالك في مكتب شئون الأعضاء. انا مش عارف مركزها ايه بالظبط ، انما من أسلوبها و طريقة تعامُلها مع اي حد بيقف قدامها واضح ان مدام فايزة مش قليلة. بدليل ان لما تسأل اي موظف في النادي "مكتب الاشتراكات فين؟" ما بيقولش "المكتب هنا ولا المكتب هناك" لكن بيقول "مكتب مدام فايزة هنا أو مكتب مدام فايزة هناك."
لما دخلت المكتب شفت ست قاعدة ورا شباك و هي ولا كبيرة ولا صغيرة في السن و لابسة نضارة نظر. انا على طول فهمت ان من اهم مهمات مدام فايزة الدفاع عن وقت اغلاق المكتب.

دوري قرب و الرعب ملى قلبي. لكن قلت لنفسي انها أكيد هتعاملني ألطف. عشان انا أجنبي و رسوم الاشتراك للاجانب اعلى بكتير من رسوم المصريين. يعني الاجانب هم اللي بيموِّلوا النادي. فالناس اللي ذيي بيضمنوا مُرَتَّب المدام و طبعا هي اكتر واحدة فاهمة كده. بعد ماوضحت لنفسي كل ده ارتاحت. بس لما دوري جه مدام فايزة طلعت مش مادية و طلع عندها مبدأ لما مسحت بيا الارض عشان جيتلها قبل مالمكتب يقفل بخمس دقايق. و طبعا هي مشتني من غير ما تخلصلي اي حاجة.

صاحبي الجديد
في إنجلترا انا متأكد إن مكانش عندي علاقات طويلة مع سواقين التاكسي، بس في مصر موبيلي مليان بأرقام السواقين اللي صمموا انِّي آخُد رقمهم. كذا واحد منهم عنده رقمي كمان و بيكلموني من وقت للتاني.
أجدد صاحب ليا واحد قابلتُه في دجلة. كنت رايِح من شارع ٢٠٠ لميدان فيكتوريا. المشوار ده بِيَاخُد تلت دقايق بس، وقت كفاية اننا نكون قريبين جدا! صح؟
كان أول يوم ليا في مصر بعد ما رجعت فكنت مبسوط اننا بندردش بالعربي علشان اتعوِّد على الحياة في مصر تاني. السوَّاق كان فرحان جدا إني كنت عايز ارجع مصر وكان عايز يعرف إيه الأكل المصري اللي وَحشني. قضينا معظم المحادثة وهو بيِذْكُر أنواع الأكل المختلفة وأنا بقول لُه بحب ايه منهم.
السواق: "الكشري؟"
أنا: "ايوه بحب الكشري."
السواق: "المحشي؟"
أنا: "ايوه المحشي حلو اوي"
السواق: "الفتة؟"
أنا: "بحب الفتة كمان."
السواق: "الملوخية؟"
أنا: "بحب الملوخية جدا!"
على فكرة، بحب الملوخية فعلََا وصاحبي الجديد كان مبسوط اوي بِدَه. هو صمم اني آخد رقمه عشان يعزمني على أكلة ملوخية في بيته. انا فكرت ان دي عُزُومِة مَرَاكْبِيَّة. خدت رقمه و نزلت من العربية. نده عليا وقال "استنَّى! لازم تِكلِّمني عشان اسجِّل رقمك كمان!" انا كلمته وانا متردد وهو مسك موبايلي وقالي: "انت زيرو اتناشر! عندي رقم تاني زيرو اتناشر! خد رقمي التاني." فأنا فضلت واقف وهو قال لي رقم تاني وانا سجلته. فبقى عندي رقمين لحد انا عرفته من دقيقتين. بس انا لسه مكنتش متأكد انه بيتكلم بجد.
بعد يومين هو كلمني وانا كنت شغَّال. ماردتش عشان الشغل فكلمني تاني بعدها علي طول. دي حاجة تانية غريبة بالنسبالي، في مصر لما حد بيتصل بيك ومبتردش عليه هو بيعيد الإتصال علي طول، على أمل أن ظروفك اتغيرت في التلت ثواني بين اول رنة وتاني رنة.
حسيت بالذنب اني مردتش عليه. فاليوم اللي بعده انا كان لازم اروح من المعادي للزمالك. كلمته وطلبت منه يوَصَّلني. كان فيه زحمة أوي فكان عندنا وقت ندردش.
سألني: "ليه ماردتش امبارح؟"
ردِّيت: "انا اسف جدا كنت بشتغَل."
السواق: خسارة انك ماردتش! المدام عملت ملوخية وكُنت عايز اعزمك."
قلت له: "معلش، المرة الجاية ان شاء الله."
رد وقال:"ان شاء الله".
كان فيه سكوت في المحادثة فسألته: "رحت صلاة الجمعة النهارده؟" عشان يومها كان الجمعة.
رد "ايوه الحمدلله، وانت؟"
بس انا ماسمعتوش لما قالي "وانت؟" انا سمعت "الحمدلله بس، فرديت "الحمدلله" وكنت مستغرب انه كان مبسوط بيَّا اوي.
بعد دقيقة كل حاجة وضحت لما السواق كلم مراته و قال لها "انا مع الراجل اللي حكيت لك عنه. ايوه! هو محترم جدا و كمان راح المسجد النهارده!"
حسيت بخيبة أمل لما عرفت اني رحت المسجد. كنت عايز أَوَلَّع سيجارة عشان المشوار كان طويل جدا بس بعد مااكتشفت ان انا مسلم تقي مكنتش عايز أدمّر سمعتي بالتدخين.
سأل مراته "عايزة تتكلمي معاه؟"، و اداني الموبايل.
مسكت التليفون وقلت "الو"، .
صوت ست رد قال"الو" .
انا قلت "ازيك؟" .
رد الصوت "كويسة"، ، "وانت؟"
قلتلها "ايوه انا تمام" . كان في صمت.
وبعدين قالت "منوَّر مصر"
رديت: "ده نورك"، "مع السلامة."
السواق مسك الموبايل و قالها "هو محترم اوي، صح!؟"
كان نفسي في سيجارة فعلا، بس مابقتش اقدر. في شخصين شِهْدُوا لي باني راجل محترم ففي التصويت على: هل أولع سجارة ولا لا؟ أنا خسرت التصويت.

أحْلى جَزْمَة في العَالَم
يوم الخميس اللي فات رحت النادي اليوناني مع إتنين اصحابي. الراجِل اللي قاعِد بيِقْطَع التَّذاكر عالباب قال لي معلش ماينفعش تدخل بالصندل. لازم جزمة.
