With the new year comes all its resolutions and predictably a focus on weight, fitness or sticking to the new dietary discipline that can and will help us to shed the layers built up from the last few months of holidays and âundisciplined habits. Many of you know Iâm a fan of healthy eating, ketogenic diet, paleo diet, and even carnivore. That doesnât mean I believe everyone should be a on a keto or carnivore diet, at least for the reasons you may possibly think. I have my own success story with each of these at different times in my life, but the most important lesson is when and when to change. I see the same videos and one sided stories you see on the internet, YouTube and social media platforms. I think thereâs some great people marketing great products and genuine success stories with many different strategies. That said, there are short comings with our nature to simplify without understanding how the body will respond when we restrict macronutrients. Are carbs abused? Are they highly processed? Yes and Yes. What happens when we extend a long period beyond weight loss with carb restriction? Well, thereâs more to this answer than just one episode, but today I discuss a very common pattern with the fad diet or short term success strategies that get promoted long term and some of the downstream affects of âpushingâ too long. This information is based on my own study, clinical experience and personal experience of food and nutritional experimentation. I'm always amazed by the human spirit and what we're capable of when we're fully engaged in the process.
Today I'm sharing the fallibility of being human with success and failures. We've all experienced success upon many failures and continue find ways to right the ship. I'm extremely grateful for the patient's who've entrusted me and my team to help them, to lead them back toward their best self. I'm honored to be of service and value in their lives.This is a case that started with a pretty deep hole of chronic pain, poor health and sliding downhill fairly fast. Together, we slowed the slide, stopped it and then began the climb out of this deep chasm. Over the course of the next several months, this woman made slow but very steady progress. Getting her health back wasn't (and never is) just a linear - straight line out of the ruts. It's filled with setbacks, plateaus, speed bumps, potholes and bruises. Plus, life is still happening, so we don't get to just heal in a vacuum, per se.
Remember, we all get off track, it's how quickly and how effectively we get back on track that can make all the difference. We have this very unique quality whether you're acknowledging

In 2021, approximately 81 million people in the U.S. were diagnosed with seasonal allergic rhinitis (hay fever). This equals around 26% (67 million) of adults and 19% (14 million) of children. Seasonal allergic rhinitis is an allergic reaction to pollen from trees, grasses, and weeds. (Aafa.org)
In Australia, food allergies are seen in 10% of infants, 4-8% of children and around 2% of adults. Most food allergies can be attributed to the following common foods: milk, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, sesame, fish, shellfish, wheat, and soy.So, why the astounding rate and growth in allergies?
