In todayâs episode we will explore the link between nutrient deficiencies and postpartum depression. I discuss how neurotransmitters, such as serotonin, are created from protein and amino acids, which require a host of other nutrients to become neurotransmitters. I also discuss key nutrient deficiencies that can lead to depression, gut health is also important for nutrient absorption and the importance of having a postnatal plan that includes proper nutrition paramount as a key factor in overcoming postnatal depression.
