  • Live from the convention, Prede and Jon discuss the return of Otakon! They discuss many of the panels and events at Otakon 2021. On Friday, Prede discussed Daryl Suratā€™s ā€œThirty Years Ago: Anime in 1991ā€ Panel (including the infamous ā€œis this a pigeon memeā€ from the 1991 anime ā€œThe Brave Fighter of Sun Fighbirdā€) which was one his favorites of the weekend, ā€œShoujo Rock Heavenā€ that detailed some all girl Japanese rock bands, ā€œThe Best Openings for Shows You (Probably) Didnā€™t Seeā€ (also by Daryl Surat and the rest of AWO, much to Prede and Jonā€™s irk, they did not include ā€œGunsmith Catsā€). Friday also had ā€œBad Anime, Bad On Panelā€,  which showed some horrible anime. The Christmas cartoon featured in that panel is ā€œRapsittie Street Kids: Believe in Santaā€, please donā€™t watch it itā€™s torture). Prede got to watch a real Japanese Tea Demonstration featuring Inosuke Hashibira from ā€œDemon Slayerā€ (Really? YES!). The Satoshi Kon panel by Otaku Nate was incredibly helpful and interesting. They also discuss the video game concert, Open World. Saturday, Prede got to learn about Japanese Law through Ace Attorney, both attended the AnimEigo panel, Prede talked about the excitement at the Discotek panel and their amazing announcement of their plans to release and dub the Gainax classic Gunbuster! Prede learns he canā€™t make Origami, and he sat in on ā€œYour Anime is an 80ā€™s Movie!ā€ which got a lot of criticism online.  Ultimately a very educational con!

Sorry the audio quality is not the greatest, this was recorded live at the con!
