  • Welcome back to the PODCast!

In this week's show, I share some things about the show that I've been considering for awhile. If you're a long time listener, you know I'm a straight shooter when it comes to this stuff, so buckle in.

In all honestly, I've been thinking about the PODCast all wrong. I've been thinking of it as a product as opposed to a marketing instrument that could amplify interest in a print on demand coaching business (which doesn't really exist - at least not in the way I want it to.) Because of the weekly schedule of creating this show, it's been difficult to navigate it all - the challenges of content creation as well as the need to bolster my own POD business' growth.

In the end, the Main Event of this episode delves into me redefining my priorities, as well as the strategic decision to scale back on podcast production (and all that comes with it) to focus on building a sustainable business model with a product that I'm proud of.

Finally, I'd love for you to TAKE THIS SURVEY and let me know what would be important for you in a paid print on demand product (if I even end up creating one is still TBD.) It'll only take 2-3 minutes and will really help.

    Enjoy the show!

  • Welcome back to the Print On Demand Cast!

in this week's episode, I take a deep dive into the pros and cons of in-house versus outsourced production. From quality control to scalability, each method presents its own set of challenges and opportunities. Whether it's analyzing the cost structure of a large coffee mug order or the logistics of efficient shipping, I provide insights into optimizing operations and maximizing profits. With practical examples and real-world scenarios, I hope to arm you with the knowledge to make strategic decisions for your print-on-demand business.

At the end of the episode, I share a link to a google sheet I created that can help you figure out your profit margins for in-house and outsourced production. You can grab that for yourself at https://printondemandcast.com/production-comparison-sheet.

Plus, in this week's Point Of Interest, I share two updates from Printful that I thought we're pretty cool. The first is a new product - custom jacquard knitting, a technique that transforms yarn into intricate patterns within the fabric itself. This innovation could elevate your print-on-demand offerings to new heights, or at least new profits! Secondly, I share a limited time discount Printful is offering to their Printful Growth subscribers from Nov 1 - Dec 15. I spend a lot of time talking about the embroidered trucker hat you can get shipped to your customer for under $15, but there are a few other popular products on the list.

One last thing, if you want the full experience of this episode, you really should consider watching it on YouTube since I share my screen a lot.

  • Welcome back to the PODCast!

On this week's show, I'll share how consistency can be your secret weapon in conquering the chaos of running a print-on-demand business. Unleash the full potential of regular uploads on platforms like Etsy and Redbubble, and watch your visibility soar. By sticking to a routine, you'll not only enhance your shop's presence within algorithms but also open doors to discover potential bestsellers.

Consistency isn't just about talentā€”it's about building momentum and refining your skills over time. Just like athletes rely on practice, creators thrive on regular uploads to keep their stores vibrant and trustworthy. Let's jump into how keeping an active store can breathe new life into older products and help you capitalize on emerging trends.

Elevate your workflow with strategic consistency and the power of virtual assistants. By recording your processes, you can efficiently train your team and focus on scaling up your business. In the end, consistent uploads are your golden ticket to collecting valuable data, nurturing creativity, and expanding your product range.

In order to maintain a steady upload schedule, particularly as the busy season approaches, I propose a simple challenge - aim for five uploads a day. In fact, I created a free tool for you to track your progress.

Ever felt your print on demand business losing steam? This episode promises to reignite that spark as Travis uncovers the silent killer behind many entrepreneurs' stagnation and shows you how to combat it. After sharing some personal updates about his band's recent gigs and celebrating his son's birthday at a Rockies game, he dives into the heart of maintaining motivation through effective calendar management and strategic planning. Proper planning isn't just a buzzwordā€”it's the lifeline to keeping your business thriving and your interest in it alive.

Struggling with organization? You're not alone. In the Main Event, Travis tackles the chaos head-on by discussing the crucial role of a well-organized system in managing SKUs and scheduling tasks. He shares some of what he talked about in Episode 205 and feeling overwhelmed by all the minute details of what needs done day to day. In fact, he asked a friend's to help and her organizational skills helped set him on a track to be more efficient and get important tasks done. Money problems got you down?

(Sounds like the opening line of a late night infomercial.) šŸ˜‚

But seriously, how can you turn around the financial fate of your Print On Demand business? This week, Travis and Josiah share some strategies around why your business finances might not be where you had hoped when starting out. While they canā€™t wave a magic wand over all your financial woes, perhaps some practical advice can make a real difference.

For starters, the guys explore the art of increasing profits without necessarily ramping up sales volume. • Welcome back to the PODCast!

On this week's show, the topic may not feel congruent with the title. However, some of the frustrations and perceived setbacks you're experiencing in your print on demand business might actually be springboards for growth. Perspective can change the way you internalize "problems" and set you free to actually grow.

Last week's show on self sabotage is (in part) a launching point for this episode. To be frank, the power of discomfort can actually foster personal and business growth. Both Travis and Josiah have countless experiences that underscore how continuous learning and practice can lead to becoming better versions of ourselves, both personally and professionally.

So while this episode focuses on things in your business that you might feel are negative, choose to see them as opportunities. Hopefully Travis and Josiah help by sharing some practical steps to take if you find yourself losing momentum or even giving up entirely.

Plus, in this week's Point of Interest, the guys share a few statistics from a recent blog post Printful shared about POD in 2024.

  • Welcome back to the PODCast!

On this week's show, Travis is solo and pulls the curtain back on some of the internal growth he's been leaning into. The hope is that taking the time to acknowledge these limiting and self sabotaging voices will help the listener become aware of their own and how it can (and likely is) affecting their print on demand business, their health, and even their relationships.

While the topic is not 100% POD related, there are certainly some direct correlations to how we perceive ourselves and how our business grows and thrives (or fails.) Being aware is the first step towards putting these thoughts in their proper place as they will likely never go away.

In the words of Travis' spiritual director, "we are always learning, practicing, and becoming." Hopefully this podcast will start that process in you in order to not only build a better business, but build a better you!

  • Welcome back to the PODCast!

Can combining In-N-Out and Chick-fil-A lead to the ultimate 4th of July feast? Join Josiah and Travis as they recount their holiday adventures filled with quirky food experiments, pickleball matches, and dazzling fireworks. While Josiah enjoyed a fun-filled weekend, Travis shares his unfortunate tale of dealing with a back injury that almost sidelined his plans. Despite the setback, he persevered and managed to join some of the family activities, adding a touch of resilience to the festive (yet way too drawn out) stories.

That said, none of you came to the podcast for any of that. šŸ˜Ž

The Main Event topic provides some "tough love" in the form of encouraging you to make a business move that you've probably been thinking of for quite some time. While talked about on the show previously, the guys dive into the practicalities (and simplicity) of using Upwork to find the perfect Virtual Assistant (VA) for your needs. Learn how to identify tasks for delegation, navigate job postings, and start small with manageable projects. Whether you need help with design, listings, or bookkeeping, you don't need to feel overwhelmed. Drawing from personal experiences, Travis and Josiah encourage you to seize the opportunities that online talent marketplaces offer, helping you break free from procrastination and focus on growth.

Plus, in this week's Point Of Interest, the guys share about the latest news at Etsy HQ. You may have received an email with a link to a video from Etsy CEO, Josh Silverman. In the video Josh clarifies their commitment to creativity on the platform, as well as some specifics to image and mockup requirements as it pertains to Print On Demand.

So tune in and get ready to be challenged! (Or you could have your VA tune in for you šŸ˜‰)

    Anyway, on to the show!
