Hi my lovely audience. I know you have been waiting for another mehfil mix but this song itself is a story. I believe the best way to do justice with this song was by narrating the original story of Sohni Mahiwaal. I was reading this story by Gulzar Sahab (also one my favorite stories by him) and I thought of reading it loud to you guys. This is my attempt of bringing the pain of 1947 partition back alive and to give Darshan Singhs pain a voice.

I have been reading a lot about Bhagat Singh lately, in order to gain insights about how the great man thought. I have read several letters and although many letters moved me, I started with this because if at all, I have gained a little insight into the mentality, I can come to a conclusion that the great man, thought very highly of his comrades. Footprints on a zero line by Gulzar Sahab is one of those books, that I recommend to everyone. I have read the entire book twice and out of so many tales, and poetries, I find Toba Tek Singh as one of the most heart wrenching one. Karachi being the other. Please read the book and let me know what your thoughts on that are.

Partition has had a very strong impact on me. I have said this on multiple occasion rather. Today, while going through the pages of my diary, I found this nazm written by Gulzar Sahab which painfully describes the situation that I have been through so many times.
Presenting a voice over that will forever be close to my heart.
