There are many great English teachers out there, but the sad truth is that some are just looking to profit off your ignorance and insecurity. Instead of providing the tools you need to reach your goal, they sell you the dream of English fluency without effort. All you have to do is keep watching their videos and buy their overpriced courses.
It’s troubling that many language teachers spend little to no time talking about what languages are actually used for: communication. As a result, many English learners obsess over grammar, accents, and unnatural vocabulary, believing these are the keys to becoming great communicators. They've been misled into thinking that staying in their comfort zones and avoiding the truth is the most effective path to fluency. This couldn't be further from the truth.
In this episode, I want to simplify things for all English learners seeking practical solutions that won't waste their time or break the bank. With the help of Cristiano Ronaldo and Jimmy Carr, I'm going to show you the only thing you need to be fluent in English.

If you know me, then you know that I have an extremely dark sense of humor and I love stand up comedy.
As a language learner, being able to understand jokes and cultural humor is a sign that you’ve reached a relatively advanced level because stand up comedy is heavily influenced by culture. So if you can understand not only the words being said, but also the reason that people find it funny, then you’ve got a pretty good understanding of both the language and the culture.
So this episode is for all of my stand up comedy lovers who want to put their English to the test and get more familiar with American culture. This list of comedians is in no particular order, by the way. You can also check the description of this episode for a link to a YouTube playlist with some of the comedy specials I’ll be mentioning today.

So many of us have such backwards ideas about the purpose of relationships and how one goes about developing them. Personally, I think there are a lot of reasons for our backwards mentality, and that’s what we’ll be talking about in this episode. — This will be a good chance for you to hear both an American and a British accent while exploring interesting ideas that affect us all in one way or another.

Being assertive and taking risks are typically viewed as masculine behavior reserved for men. But our friend Maya (from Chicago, IL) thinks that there’s no reason women can’t display the same behavior. In fact, she believes that women will be much more satisfied with their lives if they chose to do so. — This episode will give you a chance to hear the Chicago accent and the Ebonics dialect of American English.

In her article titled "A Partial Explanation of Zoomer Girl Derangement,” writer Zinnia, talks about the changes girls go through as they become women, focusing on how society views them. She explains the mixed feelings girls have about getting attention from men, feeling both powerful and vulnerable. Zinnia also criticizes how social media and modern culture affect young women, making it hard for them to understand their worth. She suggests that girls need honest advice to balance their desires and the pressures they face as they grow up. In today’s episode, I’ll be reading the article to you and leaving you with something to think about.

If you’re someone who’s comfortable being quiet in the presence of others, you might have noticed that your tendency to remain quiet drives some people crazy. You probably know how annoying it is to find out that someone doesn’t like you simply because you don’t speak as much as they would like you to.
Well in this episode, I’m gonna share a few ideas that might help you understand the mentality of the people who feel the need to ask, “Why are you so quiet?” And hopefully, help the people asking this question to understand the quiet ones a bit more as well.
