Violet finally cracks the ancient wardstone code (Draconic 101, anyone?) and lights up the sky with six dragons and a Hail Mary rune. But just as the squadâs celebrating not dying, Xadenâs like, âHey babe, I can read your intentions,â and Violetâs romantic life promptly explodes.
Cue a tense reunion in Athebyne, mom with a fresh truth bomb, and a casual corpse-dive that ends with Violet frying a wyvern like itâs snack time at Basgiath. From there, itâs dagger sparring, heartfelt apologies, and the realization that Samara isnât the target. Basgiath is.

This week on Rekindling the Pages, Deya and Liz dive into Chapters 51â55 of Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros.
