Our family finds itself in Vietnam and seeing that experience framed in the large geopolitical issues that have dominated SE Asia for centuries, and in the small, intimate ways that interweave families, history, two cultures on two sides, and how conscientious travelers can make sense of it all. Over 100 days into the trip and visiting their third and last country in Asia, Brent and Abby recount their experience so far, including finding a statue that looms large both physically and emotionally, spontaneous marathon signups, overnight sleeper train cars, and the universal siren song of Ramen Cup of Noodles. As they continue their trip through Southeast Asia, our family makes their way from Thailand to Cambodia.
