Welcome back to Shoe Eating Monster, where I devour shoes. This time, I put the Altra Lone Peak 6 to the test after picking up a used pair. And let me tell youā¦ these things are TOUGH. I ran them hard, and somehow, they just kept going. In fact, Iām giving them a 9.5/10 for durability, which is nearly unheard of in my book.
These zero-drop legends are known for their roomy toe box, grippy MaxTrac outsole, and responsive Altra EGO midsole, making them a dream for trail runners who love comfort and control. The quick-dry upper handled everything I threw at it, and the StoneGuard protection kept my feet from getting wrecked.
So, did the Lone Peak 6 survive my torture test? Absolutely. But are they the perfect trail shoe? Tune in to find out!

Welcome to Shoe Eating Monster! Ever felt personally betrayed when your favorite running shoes fall apart way too soon? Yeah, me too. Thatās why I started these videosāto put shoes to the test and see which ones can actually survive the mileage.
In this episode, I talk about why durability testing is desperately needed in the running shoe world. Weāre shelling out big money for these shoes, forming weirdly deep emotional connections with them (donāt lie, youāve got a pair you refuse to throw away), and yetā¦ most reviews barely mention how long they actually last! This is an untapped space, especially for female shoe reviewers, and Iām here to change that.
Join me as I break down why this matters, how much money we could all save, and what you can expect from Shoe Eating Monster! Got a shoe you want me to destroyāuh, I mean, test? Let me know!

In this episode of Shoe Eating Monster, we dive into Julianna's top recent shoes that just couldnāt hold up to the miles. From compressed foams to shredded outsoles, these models didnāt stand the test of time (or terrain). The list includes:
š„ Hoka Speedgoat 5 ā Great on trails, but barely lasted 74 miles before falling apart.
š„ Hoka Clifton 7 & 8 ā Soft, comfy, andā¦ disintegrating way too fast.
š„ New Balance Rebel v4 ā A speed demon that just couldnāt keep it together.
š„ Asics Novablast 4 & Novablast 4 Trail ā Bouncy, fun, but durability? Not so much.
Have you had a shoe that wore out way too soon? Drop a comment and let us know!
